Scallop Salad, Tender Lamb Racks with Salsa Verde, Individual Berry Crumbles, Pork Rillettes with Prune Topping Saturday, 11 September 2010 Every Sunday morning Annabel Langbein makes the 30- minute journey in her trusty yellow truck to a nearby farmers’ market to stock up on the best local produce.

Her first stop is always the stall belonging to her butcher friend whom she’s invited for dinner that night to share prime lamb racks.

Annabel prepares the racks with a delicious salsa verde made with herbs gathered from her garden. For dessert, there are fresh berries, also from the market, made into a wickedly good crumble.

Berry Syrup, The Ultimate Chocolate Cake Saturday, 4 September 2010 Annabel Langbein travels to the wild west coast of the South Island in New Zealand to net a feed of the tiny delicacy – whitebait. Along the way she learns the secret to cooking the perfect whitebait fritter.

Cooked in an old cast iron pot, over a gas ring on the stony riverbed, whitebait fritters have never tasted this good. So it’s only fitting Annabel should return the hospitality and invite the hosts of her whitebait expedition to a dinner featuring a double-baked whitebait souffl.

6:00pm – Saturday, August 28 on ABC1

Toss, Strawberry Lemon Puff Saturday, 28 August 2010 In this new series, Annabel Langbein reveals the pleasures of her free range cooking style with the breathtaking views of the southern alps of New Zealand as her backdrop. And she is surrounded by abundant fresh produce, artisan foods and world-class wines.

From the simplest of kitchens in her family’s lakeside cabin retreat, Annabel shows how easy it is to bring good food into today’s fast-paced world. The combination of her fresh, free-spirited approach and the gorgeous natural location creates a show in tune with the growing desire to live a simpler, less-harried way of life.

Along the way, Annabel shares the secrets to creating sensational home-cooked food for very little effort – and promises to make every viewer a star in their own kitchen.

In the first episode, Annabel joins fisherman friend Rick Shaw for a big day of fishing on the lake. Her gift of freshly baked focaccia bread is the perfect accompaniment to the trout Rick shows her how to cook on an open fire at the side of the lake. Baked chicken served with seasonal vegetables from Annabel’s garden rounds out a delicious meal shared with Rick, his wife and Annabel’s family. Dessert is an impressive but surprisingly simple choux pastry filled with lemon curd – one of Annabel’s clever and versatile ‘fridge fixings’.
