Your favourite funnyman Rove McManus joins Ten’s Monday night line-up with a whole new class of 5th Graders.

Introducing the new class of 5th Graders for 2009: Dylan- Wants to be either a Movie Producer or a Book Writer when he grows up. Dylan loves playing cricket, rugby league and playing the guitar. Dylan’s favourite subject at school is maths.

Lily- At school, Lily LOVES Maths, Art and Reading. When Lily is not at school she loves playing the piano as well as singing and dancing If she ruled the world for a day Lily would like to ban alcohol and make more animal shelters

Oliver- Wants to be either a Physics Lecturer or a Mathematics Professor. At school Oliver loves Maths, English, Art, Music and Debating, but he “despises learning about space and astronomy”. If Oliver ruled the world for the day he would make a National cheese day and dine on the finest cheddars and brie…his words

Maddie – Wants to be either a Vet or Teacher when she grows up. At school Madeleine loves English, Spelling, Computer studies and Music, her least favourite subject is Maths. If Madeleine ruled the world for a day she would make the world one big Smiggle store.

Liam- Wants to be a Cartoonist or David Beckham II when he grows up. Liam just loves cartoon drawing and he would LOVE to meet Walt Disney. At school Liam’s favourite subjects are Drawing, Art, Maths, General Knowledge, Computers and Mythology.

The stakes will be high as a whole new group of contestants and celebrities face the challenge each week of proving themselves smarter than a 5th Grader! Will any of them succeed?

This is the last chance for 2008 you can prove to yourself that you really are smarter than a fifth grader! It really can’t be that hard can it?

How did you do?

For the final episode for 2008, we see Sam the yellow Wiggle try his luck in Rove’s classroom. Sam is surrounded by kids everyday as a wiggle so surely he has picked up some tips. Playing for UNICEF, hopefully he does well.

How hard can it be? Answering questions taken from primary school materials can’t be that hard can it?

On tonight’s show we see two brave adults try their luck in the classroom. First up is 30- year old David. When faced with a question about his favourite pastime, mountain bike riding, how will he do? Second in line is mother of two – Sanja. Surely one of these two will be able to say they’re smarter than a 5th grader!?

It will be embarrassing, entertaining and downright torture for our contestants as they try (AND POSSIBLY FAIL) to prove that they are smarter than a fifth grader.

Last week on the show, we were left with a cliff-hanger as Ricki-Lee was left racking her brain in Rove’s classroom. How will she finish up?

Also join Steve, a 34 year old inventor from Sydney and Lynn, a 47 year old teacher of ministry as they play to win against primary school questions.

Last week on the show, we saw a magician and a dolphin trainer try their luck in Rove’s classroom.

How will this week’s contestants go?

First up we have Chris, a 25 year old fireman from Victoria who is a bit of a romantic. He earns this title after sharing with Rove a very unique love story.

Second in line is the talented singer Ricki-Lee Coulter. Her time in Rove’s classroom will go towards helping a very special organisation – Jeans for Genes.

Second in line is logie-winning actor Stephen Curry. He can act, but can he answer primary school questions? Pitting his knowledge for ‘OneinFive’ will he become top of the class?

The time has come for our little 5th Graders to graduate from the Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? school. We congratulate Callum, Darcy, Max, Moya and Sam on a school term well done and give them all an A+ for effort. They have helped the adults of Australia win thousands and thousands of dollars in prize money.But before the graduation party starts we catch up with Shelley who we first met last week. Miss Shelley is a sparkly tap dance teacher and mother of three from Melbourne. Could Shelley be our biggest winner yet? Or will she flunk out? Last week on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? we met 39 year old Ed a.k.a Egghead. In his school years he was awarded a meritorious award by the local council. Ed’s passion is flying. As a child he wanted to be a pilot. He has since gained his piloting licence, although it’s recently lapsed.Two new contestants join the class tonight. We meet 24 year old Ben, a Production Sales Man-ager from Paddington. He left school at Year 11 to look for good job opportunities and a chance to utilise his ‘charisma and charm’. And then there’s Shelley. Miss Shelley is a sparkly tap dance teacher and mother of three from Melbourne. Watch for the message her adorable class of 3-5 year olds send to wish her good luck. Last week on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? we met Jarod, a 26 year old Student Welfare Officer from Queensland. Having a mother who’s a 1st Grader teacher and a father who was his school Principal you’d expect that he’d win some serious cash.

Two new contestants join the class tonight. We meet Julie, a 56 year old Administration Officer from Victoria and Ed, a 39 year old National Account Manager who’s nickname at school was ‘Egghead’.
