Leiden is currently unemployed, and says her biggest regret is leaving school before finishing year 12. She is unsure how she will go in the model house because she doesn’t like making new friends. She also says she doesn’t get along with a lot of girls her age because she doesn’t ‘sugar coat’ things.

Leiden says she has mood swings, and describes herself as an outcast, loyal and headstrong. She likes to paint and draw, and spends a lot of time on the computer. She also loves her music.

Leiden has done some casual work for friends, and has a good knowledge of the modelling industry but has never done any serious modelling. Kristy currently works as a part-time bartender.

Kristy says she gets on well with people who are happy-go-lucky. Despite being worried about living out of home for the first time she says “I’m determined to give 100% in anything that comes my way.”

Kristy describes herself as down to earth, charismatic and co-operative. She hates people with no manners, and her biggest fear in life is not achieving her goals.

Kristy takes regular Pilate’s classes to keep fit. She doesn’t diet but tries to eat healthily and exercise regularly. She spends her spare time going to the beach, dancing with friends and sleeping. She makes an amazing Rocky Road, and her favourite food is vegemite on pancakes.

Kristy has had extensive modelling experience but appreciates the lessons and the opportunities AUSTRALIA’S NEXT TOP MODEL affords her. She has wanted to model for ages, and thinks she would be a positive influence on young girls wanting to start in the industry. Born in Poland, Kamila came to Australia at the age of two with her parents, neither of whom spoke English. She is very close to both her parents, and family is the most important thing in the world. After finishing year 12 last year, Kamila has this year deferred a double degree of law & international business to pursue her dream of modelling.

Kamila has had a boyfriend for the past two years, and says her ideal partner buys her everything, cares about her, is honest and always there for her.

Kamila says ‘I’m smart, intelligent and sophisticated – not just a pretty face’. Nothing embarrasses her, she has no phobias or fears, she hardly ever loses her temper, and she’s not ashamed about anything she’s done. She also loves that she’s unique, and doesn’t dislike anything about herself.

At 21, Jamie is the oldest finalists in the house. She currently works part-time as an office assistant.

Jamie says she can be an idiot, gets embarrassed easily when she says something stupid and goes bright red. She describes herself as happy, fun and tall, and says she knows how to have a good time in any situation.

Jamie is very sporty and has played callisthenics since she was 3 years old. She does a lot of exercise, goes to the gym regularly, runs, and walks everywhere she goes.

Jamie has been dating an AFL player for about a year. She loves to shop, or go to the movies, hang at the beach, and go out for lunch and dinner. Jamie hates fake people, and suffers from claustrophobia.

Emma is in year 12 this year, so has been continuing her studies during her time in the house. She would like to pursue a career in fashion design when she leaves school.

Emma is painfully shy, and says she gets embarrassed speaking in public. She very rarely losses her temper and cries when she’s angry. She’s hoping her time in the house will help her overcome her insecurities.

Emma describes herself as fun, loving and caring. She loves to spend her spare time at the beach with friends, and loves all Adam Sandler movies and The Simpsons. Family is the most important thing to Emma.

Emma has no formal modelling experience. She believes she’s not perfect but has ‘that’ look. Her favourite model is Miranda Kerr, and she thinks she is a great role model for young girls and for an aspiring model to look up to.

Personal: At just 16 years of age, Demelza is the ‘baby’ of the house. She is in year 11 this year, and has taken her school work with her, studying at the house in between challenges and photo shoots. Her parents are very supportive of her entering the house despite her age and the fact she will be missing school.

Demelza loves acting, and has been studying speech and drama for about 11 years. Happiness is the most important thing in the world, she gets embarrassed by her mum and dad, and she exercises every week and maintains a healthy diet to stay in shape. Demelza describes herself as entertaining, generous and ambitious.

Modelling/Fashion: Demelza has no formal modelling experience, but says she brings her absolute commitment and a winning smile to AUSTRALIA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.

Her perfect day is waking up after she’s won the competition and realising it’s not a dream. Demelza loves all the fashion magazines, and in particular US Vogue editor Anna Wintour is her hero. Demelza believes that fashion allows her to express her individuality and sense of style. She doesn’t follow trends, but prefers to wear what makes her feel good, and says her style is eclectic.

Caris is currently studying a BA Contemporary Performance with a minor in Fashion at ECU Mt Lawley, and would like to pursue a career in acting. She also works part-time as a sales assistant at a clothing store and as a bar attendant at a pub.

Between uni and her two part-time jobs she doesn’t get a lot of free time, so when she does she loves to just relax and sleep. She has also just taken up jewellery making.

Caris has lived out of home for a couple of years now, she gets on with most people and says the most important things in the world to her are her boyfriend, her three pet Chihuahuas and the environment.

Caris is embarrassed that she doesn’t ride a bike and gets withdrawal symptoms if she doesn’t eat take-away. Caris works out at the gym every day, but doesn’t diet, preferring to “eat unhealthy food in moderation”.

When she loses her temper she has people running for the hills, is provoked by insensitivity, seeks advice from others when she’s angry and either confronts the person or goes quiet. Caris describes herself as silly, sensitive, and responsible.

Caris has had some limited modelling experience, but nothing formal. Lara Stone is her favourite model. She absolutely loves fashion, and her ideal day includes op shopping and finding the perfect vintage piece. She describes her style as classic, and her favourite designer is Zambesi.

Belinda is currently in Year 12, and excels in maths and science. She has had to spread her VCE out over three years, completing a couple of subjects each year, as she suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome.

Belinda plans to go to university to study veterinary science, and says no matter what happens with her modelling, she wants to be a vet in the long run. She has fours horses, dogs, cats and birds, and rides her horses to keep fit. She is passionate about animals, and is very vocal against whaling.

Belinda describes herself as cheerful, easy going and approachable, and says she doesn’t get intimidated easily. She hates people who bitch and whinge about everything, as constant whining drives her up the wall.

Modelling/Fashion:

Belinda has never done any modelling. She hadn’t even worn a pair of high heels before entering the competition. Her favourite model is Miranda Kerr, “she’s totally gorgeous but also I can relate to her.” Belinda likes to make her own clothes, and says she doesn’t like to look like everybody else. She doesn’t have a specific style, but says it is constantly changing.

Alyce has just finished Year 12, and is currently working part-time at Brumby’s Bakery in Kiama. She would ultimately like to study public relations and journalism.

Alyce doesn’t exercise or diet, and admits she has a terrible diet and absolutely cannot cook. She isn’t a vegetarian, but can’t get her head around eating an animal. Her one exception is chicken McNuggets.

Alyce loses her temper when she’s under stress. She can make everything she does fun, and says she doesn’t get embarrassed or ashamed. She watches Sex & the City every night. She also loves to shop, saying “I want to shop until I die”. Alyce describes herself as vibrant, charismatic and dedicated.

Family is the most important thing in the world to Alyce, and she will miss them terribly when she is in the house.

Modelling has always been Alyce’s dream. She thinks she has a look that suits both catwalk and editorial, and loves the fact that modelling allows you to transform. Alyce’s favourite fashion trend at the moment is lace. She loves pretty, girly things and vintage pieces, and her favourite designer is John Galliano.
