Baby John Burgess joins television’s craziest cast

BALLS OF STEEL AUSTRALIA – Series 2 Premieres Tuesday January 31 at 9.30pm

Iconic television personality “Baby” John Burgess will make his long awaited return to television when he appears on the second series of the hugely popular BALLS OF STEEL AUSTRALIA, premiering on Tuesday, January 31 at 9.30pm on THE COMEDY CHANNEL.

Hosted by Craig Reucassel, BALLS OF STEEL AUSTRALIA sees guest comedians and comedy characters performing stupid, dangerous and ill-advised stunts on the general public in an attempt to impress a studio audience and lay claim to the title of having the biggest “Balls of Steel”.

The first series of BALLS OF STEEL AUSTRALIA premiered in April 2011 and was the highest rating series ever for THE COMEDY CHANNEL.   The second series returns to our screens with some familiar faces and crazy new characters.

John Burgess joins the cast as the game show host from hell, confusing, angering and annoying contestants who come to play one his many game shows, including Burgo’s Number Words and Burgo’s Big Picture Game.

Other new faces include the vertically challenged comedian Amaan, playing the explosive role of “Short Tempered”, professional lunatic duo Steve Bradley and Jeffrey Antonio in studio as “The Misfits Stunt Crew”, and UK import Olivia Lee, a popular cast member from the British version.

Returning favourites include Rhys Nicholson as confused gay newbie “Just Came Out”, Ally Pinnock as the boyfriend hunting “Bunny Boiler”, Nazeem Hussein as the earnest investigative reporter “Very Foreign Correspondent” and popular British cast member and public-aggravator Neg Dupree.

Unfortunately, one of the most popular characters, “Nude Girl”, was not able to take part in the second series.  By way of compensation, producers have introduced “Nude Twins” (Bea Hampson and Cassie Gotardo).

Based on a British format, the second series of BALLS OF STEEL AUSTRALIA is a 10-part series produced by Southern Star Entertainment’s Courtney Gibson and Johnny Lowry.

Reucassel will be joined in each episode by a rotating door of fearless performers who show the audience a recording of their daring stunts. Craig’s pranksters are always keen to prove themselves, whether it be by performing death-defying stunts, holding their nerve during hidden camera set-ups, or behaving stupidly in the presence of celebrities. At the end of each episode, the audience uses their keypads to vote for the winner of the coveted Balls of Steel Australia trophy. Resident characters in the Australian series include “Nude Girl” who just can’t seem to keep her clothes on, James Kerley as the game show host from Hell, Paris Hilton wannabe “Fame Whore”, J’Anus is a confused gay newbie who “Just Came Out”, the boyfriend hunting “Bunny Boiler”, and everyone’s nemesis “The Annoying Devil”. But there’s more, we’ve even tempted British Balls of Steel cast member and public-aggravator Neg to Australia to perform his “Urban Sports” on unsuspecting Australian victims.

Ep 5. James Kerley takes a contestant for a spin in his Car of Cash; Very Foreign Correspondent takes to the beach, Bunny Boiler gets a little too personal in a personal training session and the Annoying Devil causes mischief in Melbourne.
