MTV confirm Beavis and Butthead return

Beavis and Butthead has been confirmed by MTV to return to the network this year. MTV confirmed the news at their upfronts presentation yesterday, announcing a 30-episode run of the animated comedy.

Westwick to leave Gossip Girl soon

Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick has hinted that he will leave the series in the near future, saying he no longer connects with the character. Westwick, who plays Chuck Bass, told EOnline “I’m ready to do something else.” 

Sheen thanks fans for support

Embattled Two and a Half Men actor Charlie Sheen has thanked his fans for the support he’s received during his recent troubles. Sheen said in a statement: “I have a lot of work to do to be able to return the support I have received from so many people. Like Errol Flynn, who had to put down his sword on occasion, I just want to say, ‘Thank-you’. And to my fans, your good wishes have touched me very much.”

Campaign upped against Skins

The Parents Television Council has upped its campaign against MTV series Skins, calling for its members to write to their state’s attorneys general to ask them to investigate whether the cable and satellite providers broke the law by screening the series. The organisation’s president has labelled the series “beyond repulsive.”

NCIS renewed for ninth season

CBS has confirmed the return of NCIS for a ninth season this year. The network’s president said: “It’s simply amazing that a show in its eighth season continues to perform at such an elite level. This is a tribute to the hard work of its talented writers, producers and cast for bringing to life such compelling stories and characters with intrigue and humour.”
