Being Lara Bingle

In recent weeks, Ten’s ratings have hit an all time low. Everybody Dance Now failed to connect with audiences and was promptly dumped from the schedule. I Will Survive, with ratings now in the 300,000′s is following the same path. The Shire is now even lower – not helped though by multiple timeslot changes, while Being Lara Bingle could almost be considered a success compared to how things are going now. Don’t Tell the Bride also is not exactly setting the ratings world on fire – settling over 500,000 so far. Continue reading »

While most of us can handle a few minutes of variance in start times, passing off a show that ends up starting at say 8.45 as being advertised for an 8.30pm start is misleading to viewers and unfair to those trying to plan their nights’ TV viewing.

But the greater consequence now of the practice of late starts is how it is affecting overnight ratings results. Continue reading »

Being Lara Bingle premiered tonight on Channel Ten at 8pm. Was it a disaster, better than expected or a great fly on the wall look at celebrity? Was she a bop girl or a flop girl?

We start out with a warning of nudity – that’s not a good sign, but it is Bingle. In the firt 30 seconds she comes across as a complete ditz. We meet Sharon her mother, Josh her brother all to the “Bop Girl” soundtrack. Lara is moving to Bondi with her brother after her breakup with cricketer Michael Clark. Continue reading »
