Californication

In the week starting April 15, as the ratings survey returns after two weeks of Easter non-ratings, ELEVEN premieres new episodes of Nurse Jackie, Californication and The Cleveland Show.

From Monday April 16, ELEVEN makes a change to its programming line up which sees double episodes of Being Human air from 9.00pm instead of starting at 9.30pm.

Supernatural airs its last available episode from the US, 8.30pm Monday April 9. The next episode of Supernatural airs in the US April 20. Possible Monday April 30 airing for that one.

Ringer will now air at 11pm from Monday April 16, pushing Craig Ferguson out to a midnight start – yes – now you really can call it the late late show – it the US, it airs at 12.30am.

New episodes of Raising Hope continue at 8pm Mondays. moving to double episodes from April 16.

The move to 9.00pm/10.00pm programming for the night could be in response to Seven having Australia’s Got Talent finishing at 9pm on Monday April 16, OR possible plans for Ten itself which may include a major programming change to Monday nights (not to mention the likelihood of The Biggest Loser Finale airing on Monday 23rd or 30th of April).

On Tuesdays, new episodes of The Office continue to air at 9pm, and from Tuesday April 17, new seasons of Nurse Jackie and Californication air at 9.30pm and 10.05pm respectively.

New episodes of The Simpsons continue to play on Wednesday nights at 7.30pm (but not April 18 due to gap in US programming) and The Cleveland show returns with new episodes at 10.00pm Wednesday April 25.

Abdul confirmed for The X Factor US

Paula Abdul has been confirmed as the fourth and final judge on the new US version of The X Factor. The former American Idol judge joins Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Cheryl Cole on the panel for the new show.

Scherzinger to co-host The X Factor US

Former Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger has landed the role of co-host on The X Factor US alongside British TV presenter Steve Jones.

Californication signs William and Kate actress

William and Kate telemovie actress Camilla Luddington has landed a recurring role on the new season of Californication. Luddington, who featured alongside NZ actor Nico Evers-Swindell in the Royal wedding special, has been cast as a nanny in the show’s upcoming fifth season.

Glee covers Friday single

The cast of Glee have covered Rebecca Black’s single ‘Friday’ which became a viral hit on the internet for its average vocals and poorly written lyrics. The song will feature on the Prom Queen episode of the series.

NZ picks up AFP

TV3 in New Zealand has picked up Channel Nine’s new documentary series AFP: Australian Federal Police. The series will begin screening across the ditch from May 17.

Forsythe joins Boardwalk Empire

William Forsythe will join the second season of Boardwalk Empire to play the role of Philadelphia gangster Manny Horvitz. Forsythe previously played the role of Al Capone in the 1990’s TV series The Untouchables.

Misfits leads BAFTA nominations

Misfits is leading the way in nominations for the BAFTA Television Awards with four in total. The series is recognised in both the ‘Drama’ and ‘New Media’ categories as well as nods for Robert Sheehan (Nathan) and Lauren Socha (Kelly) for ‘Supporting Actor’ and Supporting Actress’.

RZA joining Californication

American rapper RZA has signed on for a role on the fifth season of Californication. The Wu Tang Clan member will appear in several episodes as a hip hop mogul who hires Hank (David Duchovny) to write a screenplay for him.

Entourage film is possible says Piven 

Entourage actor Jeremy Piven believes a film version of the series could happen in the future, after its eighth season concludes this year. Piven, who plays Ari Gold, says he believes the show is “set up pretty nicely for a movie” and that it would be “the perfect way to end it”.

The season two finale of Nurse Jackie airs on ELEVEN Tuesday March 29, at 9.30pm. That is followed by the season finale of Californication at 10.05.

The following Tuesday, April 5, Nurse Jackie on ELEVEN moves straight into season 3.

Game On: Jackie’s relationship with both Kev in and O’Hara is even more strained since their surprise intervention. Meanwhile, Zoey and Lenny make their affair public knowledge.

Monday April 4 is the season finale of Dexter at 9.30pm.

The Getaway: As the noose tightens, Arthur warns Dexter to back of f , but Dexter will do any thing to stop Trinity from eluding him, even if that means putting himself on the wrong side of the law.

Friday April 8, from 7.30pm is the finale of So You Think You Can Dance US. Will be interesting to see what they fill the timeslot with the following week!

Californication renewed for fifth season

Californication has been renewed for a fifth season by its network Showtime. The David Duchovny series has been confirmed for another 12 episode run following a successful fourth season premiere.

Eisenberg to host SNL

Jesse Eisenberg has been confirmed to host an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live. The actor, who recently featured in The Social Network, will make his debut on the long-running comedy show on the January 29 episode.

Sarah Michelle Gellar lands pilot role

Sarah Michelle Gellar is hoping to make a return to primetime TV with a new pilot she is filming for American network CBS. The actress has signed on for the lead role in Ringer, a series that follows a young woman on the run who take on the identity of her rich, successful twin sister.

Celebrity Apprentice cast named

A new cast of celebrities have been named for the next instalment of The Celebrity Apprentice. Among those taking part this year will be Survivor contestant Richard Hatch, rapper Lil Jon, actor Gary Busey and Meat Loaf.

Doctor Who auctions

A number of major props from Doctor Who are going under the hammer next week including the Tardis from previous seasons. The item, used in 2005, is expected to fetch up to NZ$25,000 along with an original Dalek dating back to 1964 estimated at $NZ7000.

Entourage confirms guests

Entourage has confirmed Lenny Kravitz and P Diddy will make guest appearance sin the upcoming season of the show. Kravitz will play himself as a client of Ari’s while Diddy will join Mark Walhberg in one of his token golf course appearances.

CSI: Miami drops cast member

CSI: Miami have cut cast member Eddie Cibrian (Cardoza) for the next season of the show. The actor only recently joined the cast of the crime procedural after an original member left, but now the producers have decided to revert back to focussing on the remaining original cast.

New Hollywood stars

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced which television celebrities will be receiving stars on the Walk of Fame for 2011. 30 Rock’s Tina Fey heads the list, along with Idol creator Simon Fuller, Neil Patrick Harris, John Langley, Ed O’Neill, John Wells and Oprah Winfrey.

Vuvuzela-free games screened

Several international networks have screened vuvuzela-free games from the FIFA World Cup after receiving so many complaints from the viewers. German and French networks have led the way with the BBC in the UK also planning to filter out the drone for England’s next match against Algeria.

Eric Roberts joining soap

Eric Roberts is making a return to the world of soaps, with the actor confirming he is set for a role on The Young and the Restless. Roberts will play an attorney representing a familiar cast member on the soap, debuting in July.

Tommy Lee for Californication

Rocker Tommy Lee will make a guest appearance on the upcoming season of Californication. Lee will appear alongside David Duchovny in the drama series which has seen several celebrities make small appearances over the past few seasons.

The Office promotes Gabe

Zach Woods has been promoted to a series regular in the next season of The Office in the US. Woods plays Gabe Lewis in the comedy which is set to lose star Steve Carrell after the seventh season.

Another new signing for Dexter

Dexter has announced yet another cast addition with April Lee Hernandez set to join the drama in the new season. The ex-ER actress will play a new police officer alongside big-name signing Julia Stiles.

Hank’s stunned when Mia shows up at the house unannounced, in town with her slimy boyfriend / manager Paul for a book signing. Hank fails to prevent Mia and Paul from hatching a devious publicity stunt, forcing Hank to finally share the long-buried heartbreaking secret with Karen.

Sue Collini (KATHLEEN TURNER) gives Charlie a career opportunity of a lifetime, but Charlie must confront the fact that he might be losing Marcy for good.

Series 3, Episode 10

Hank takes Charlie out on the town to drown his sorrows after Sue Collini fires him for causing client Rick Springfield to leave the agency. Meanwhile, Karen, still miffed by Hank’s dalliance with Felicia, organizes a girls’ night out with Becca and Marcy. Drunk and up to no good, Hank and Charlie have a near-death experience when they confront a couple of thieving hoodlums in a convenience store. The night ends with Charlie realizing he made a questionable body art decision and Hank having the breakfast of his life with the woman he loves.

COMINGS & GOINGS
Series 3, Episode 11

Karen drags Hank to an end of the semester goodbye luncheon at Felicia’s. Hank realizes he’s walked into a hornet’s nest as Felicia, Jackie and Jill all gang up on him. The Hank bashing is interrupted when Richard Bates, the novelist / professor Hank replaced at the college, pays a surprise visit. Hank’s none too pleased to learn that Bates and Karen share some intimate history. Finally, a drunken Dean Koons storms the lunch in full Civil War re-enactment regalia, challenging Hank to a sloppy duel that ends in catharsis. Marcy and Charlie get an offer on their house the same day their divorce papers arrive. While hooking up once more for old time’s sake, Charlie has a nasty sex accident and Marcy discovers his new tramp stamp.
