Camelot

Camelot, after failing to attract viewers on Nine, will continue on GO! this Sunday (September 4) from 9.30pm.

Like it was scheduled on Nine, it will air as a double episode from 9.30-11.30pm.

The two episodes on GO! this Sunday are episodes 3 and 4 of the show.

Arthur’s pursuit of Guinevere proves unrewarding, Leontes and Kay recruit a new warrior whom they feel they can trust, and Arthur and Merlin contemplate a dinner invitation to Morgan’s castle.

Nine have dropped Camelot.

After months of promotion, the series failed to connect with the audience when it premiered last Sunday, with the first episode barely managing 600,000 viewers, following on from 1.7 million watching Underbelly: Razor. The second episode, which aired at 10.30, reached just over 200,000.

While I fail to understand the logic of having two hours of a show like that from 9.30pm, just the result for the first episode alone was a worry, not to mention how incompatible it is with Underbelly that precedes it. Nine would have been better off airing this one on a Saturday night or even weekend afternoon.

Instead, the movie The Hangover – a free to air first – will air on Nine at 9.30pm this Sunday (September 4). This means there will be movies on all three of Nine’s channels on Sunday night with Almost Famous on GO! and Six Degrees of Separation on GEM.

Sunday August 28.

Nine are set to capitalise one more time with the success of The Block with one final episode of The Block Unlocked set air at 6.30pm Sunday August 28. When all is said and done, there’ll only be a little Camelot. The show that Nine is already advertising has opted not to move forward with production on the second series, which aired its first season finale earlier last month in the USA and UK.

“Due to significant production challenges, Starz has decided not to exercise the option for subsequent seasons of Camelot with our production partners GK-tv, Octagon Films and Take 5 Productions,” the cabler explains in a statement cited by The Hollywood Reporter.

Deadline elaborates that among the challenges for the Ireland-based production were scheduling conflicts with some members of the cast, which was fronted by Joseph Feinnes, Jamie Campbell Bower and Eva Green.

Nine will air the 10 part series, later this year, and has been advertising it during night time programming.
