Brand to host SNL
British comic Russell Brand will make his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live this month. Brand confirmed the news on his Twitter feed, saying: “I am hosting Saturday Night Live, Feb 12th. If you have any sketches/jokes please send. Remember, I will ONLY play drug addicts (sic).”
Cast confirmed for Charlie’s Angels reboot
Producers of the new Charlie’s Angels reboot have confirmed that Rachael Taylor, Minka Kelly and Annie Llonzeh will play the three angels while Austin Powers actor Robert Wagner has signed on to voice Charlie. Production on the pilot is expected to begin next month.
Pilot picked up from Gossip Girl creator
The creator of Gossip Girl and The OC Josh Schwartz has had a new pilot called Georgetown picked up by ABC. The pilot centres on young people working in Washington and will be executive produced by Schwartz’s Gossip Girl colleague Stephanie Savage.
MTV continues with Skins
Despite losing its ninth advertiser, MTV will stand by its US version of Skins. The series has attracted a considerable amount of publicity thanks to its explicit nature but MTV programming chief David Janollari says the publicity has been positive for the series. “I think it’s always good when people are talking about you and people are certainly talking about (Skins),” he said.
Super Bowl Glee episode geared towards guys
Producers of Glee have promised male viewers that the upcoming Super Bowl episode of the series will appeal to them. The episode will open with bikini-clad girl performing a dance number to Katy Perry’s ‘California Gurls’ while BMX riders perform tricked overhead.
