Can those who have everything help rebuild the lives of people who have nothing at all.

With the UK in the midst of its worst recession in decades, homelessness is expected to rise dramatically.

Home Is Where The Heart Is follows a radical scheme which looks to offer a solution to one of Britain’s most stubborn social problems.

Four celebrity households including Brit-pop legend Alex James, presenter Anneka Rice, popular chef Aldo Zilli and interior designers Colin and Justin agree to open their doors to some of the most vulnerable members of British society.

All have volunteered to take part in a unique mentoring scheme by inviting a homeless person into their own homes and off the streets to live with them for two weeks.

The homeless who take part in the series include Jim Gilraine, who’s slept rough for almost two decades; teenage runaway Danny Newton; ex-soldier Bobby Blunden; and 23-year-old Bridgette Harvey.

As two very different worlds come together, can celebrities – who will be guided by expert advice in the shape of Ed Tytherleigh, director of SPEAR, one of Britain’s most innovative homeless charities – really change lives?

One in ten children under the age of 16 in the UK is struggling – whether it’s behavioural, emotional or clinical. Some are born with a problem, whilst for others it can come out of nowhere. Whatever their condition, more than half of these vulnerable children will go undiagnosed – their problems being put down simply, to bad behaviour. This new series follows a number of families from across the UK as they embark on a journey to understand their child’s behaviour and learn to cope with it.

In this opening episode we meet Katherine, a lively little six year old who is the life and soul of the family at home; however, as soon as she passes through the school gates each day, Katherine becomes mute.

She is unable to speak a word for eight hours a day so her family embarks on a course of intensive speech therapy to get to the cause of her resistance to talk.

For 16-year-old Henry, the problem isn’t talking, it’s what he says: Henry has Tourette’s Syndrome.

Diagnosed just over a year ago following a sudden seizure, Henry’s and his family’s life was turned upside down in an instant.

Not all parents want a label for their child, especially where mental health is concerned, but Charlotte has been searching for a diagnosis – a name for what’s wrong with her ten-year-old son Adam. Convinced that something just ‘hasn’t been right’ since he was a baby, she has finally come to the mental health unit to meet with Dr Faeza Khan. Can she determine what is wrong?
