Don’t Forget the Lyrics

Sunday, January 3 & Saturday, January 9 6.30pm

It’s another ‘thriller, thriller night’ with this round of Don’t Forget the Lyrics. We all think we know the words to the world’s most popular songs – many of us will be screaming them at the screen this evening – but when you’re centre stage with an audience scrutinising your every action and a million dollars at stake, would you keep your cool or crumble under the pressure?

Multi Emmy award winning Wayne Brady takes to the stage as host and welcomes another contestant to choose songs from different genres, decades and artists to attempt a word perfect performance. As the elusive $1 million prize money has yet to be won, it’s not as easy as it sounds but perfect for joining in from the comfort (and privacy) of your living room.

Sunday, December 27 & Saturday, January 2 6.30pm

“Two thousand zero zero party on until we’re outta time… cos tonight I’m gonna party like it’s 1999…” Have you spent too long singing the wrong lyrics?

Don’t Forget the Lyrics is an hour of good times as a contestant is challenged to complete song lyrics for increasing amounts of money. After each correct answer, the contestant can continue playing, risking what has already been earned, or quit the game and take home all the money they have already earned. If the contestant continues playing and correctly completes nine song lyrics, they will be given a lyric from a No. 1 hit to complete. If the contestant completes the final lyric correctly, they win the grand prize of $1,000,000.

Wayne Brady hosts this unique game show in which contestants are given a microphone, put on the spot and challenged to remember the lyrics to popular songs. From ACDC to Stevie Wonder to the Beatles, contestants must correctly fill in the missing lyrics for a chance to win cold hard cash.

Contestants are challenged with 10 genres of music and 10 different songs ranging from pop to Rolling Stones to divas. If they correctly sing the missing lyrics to the 10 songs they take home $1million.
If the contestant is struggling with working out the lyrics they have the opportunity to call on their three
helps which include:
*two words – the contestant can check the correctness of two of the words they have chosen as the lyrics.
*three lines – gives the contestant three multiple choices for the missing lyrics.
*back up singers – family and friends of the contestant can help them with the lyrics. The back up singers can also take the microphone and sing the lyrics.

The beauty of this show is that contestants can choose to go home at any time and take the money they
have earned so far with them but the twist? If they answer incorrectly, then they could go home empty
handed!

Trivia – Wayne Alphonso Brady:
*Had his own show in 2001 called “The Wayne Brady Show” which won four daytime Emmy Awards.
