7mate are doing some fine tuning to their schedule in the last week of ratings.

Changes on Sunday November 21 mean that there will be three episodes in a row of Scrubs from 7pm instead of Highway Patrol and Destroyed in Seconds that have been airing from 7.30 on Sunday nights since 7mate began.

Russell Crowes’ show Damage Control is not even safe on 7mate – with the 5^th episode set to air at 8.30pm Sunday November 21 pulled in favour for a How I Met Your Mother repeat.

With so many episodes of How I Met Your Mother on 7mate and Seven, it is Seven’s version of Nine’s Big Bang Theory in the sense that there are multiple episodes across both a digital channel and a main channel – in the case of Big Bang, it is on Nine and GO! Both shows rate well for their respective channels.

On Monday November 22, Fifth Gear and Whacked Out Sports that air at 7.30 and 8pm respectively have been removed in favour for a double episode of Family Guy.

 

A somewhat partial program for the first week of 7mate has been released, revealing that day time programming is mostly a mix of old TV shows and the odd old movie – yes great use of a HD channel that is – and NBC Today show at 9am.

Programming for 7mate’s first full day of independent programming Sunday Sept 26 is the same as the above weekday line up from 2pm, with movies at 10am at 12pm.

From 6pm to midnight, only highlights have been released so far, with a lot of TBA’s to be filled in. note these are all new episodes.

At this stage, the rest of the prime time content is yet to be revealed. Some of the gaps could be movies, as well as other shows they are yet to decide.

At midnight, Lost will be played. From 1am to 5.30am, are repeats of some of the day time shows with Quincy M.E first at around 12.50, then Magnum PI, The Rockford Files, Knight Rider and The A Team. Deal or no Deal repeats can be seen at 5.30am.

The only exception to the early morning day time repeats is Wednesday nights (Thursday mornings)where Home Shopping is scheduled for 2am. At least it is only one night, but the question is why bother – surely we deserve one channel completely free of Home Shopping?

The 7mate schedule is only the first release. It is subject to change, and as we have seen every time a new channel launches, there will be changes both in the lead up to the September 25 launch, as well as possibly more as the channel is on air as the network reacts to ratings.

At this stage, it looks like 7mate ratings will not be separated from those of Seven when it launches. There is no date from OzTam for the channel to count as its own, meaning, initially at least, 7mate ratings will be part of Seven’s.
