10.30pm Friday September 16 on Ten
This year everyone seems to have their quests fulfilled already. But has Kevin really found the perfect woman? And can Cody defend Gwen against a witch?
Ten would probably look back to having shows like Burn Notice and Law & Order on Friday nights and think they were really not doing that badly, seeing that double Hawaii Five-O last Friday, with audiences of just over 200,000 ranked amongst the sort of figures shows get on digital channels. In fact, looking at ratings for that night, GO! were actually beating Ten in one of these timeslots.
So what do Ten do – with a Friday night schedule now so unstable, noone will ever rely on it?
Simple – go back to movies. Not that Ten have too many movies to chose from though.
But at least with movies, it is a one off commitment by viewers in the sense that the movie on night has nothing to do with the one on the next, unlike playing series.
This Friday’s movie (Sept 16) is Shallow Hal. Next week’s yet to be named, but is definitely another movie.
With Footy finals on Seven and Nine though, Ten are destined for a caning in ratings on Friday night no matter what they air – especially seeing the AFL this Friday night also involves Sydney, so Brisbane is the only of the five cities that will not be airing AFL live on the main channel (they get it on 7mate still).
At least a movie should draw better ratings than what H5O was doing.
As a result of the programming change, the planned premiere of Go Girls will no longer air. Ten News and Sports Tonight follows the movie at 10.55pm.
