The final episode starts on the day Tanya (Simon’s mother) is due to marry Clive… But Grandpa’s taken a turn and their plans are thrown into doubt.

Grandma tries to resolve the situation, but is she right to tell Tanya to go ahead with the wedding.

Meanwhile, Liz asks for Simon’s help in sorting out Adam’s schooling problems.

In the fifth episode, Simon has been on a life-changing course and decides it’s his job to heal the family.

He starts by giving Grandpa an exercise ball.

Meanwhile, Tanya realises that maybe Clive isn’t the man for her.

And when the family discovers that Simon has invited his dad round, they fear Grandma’s reaction.

In episode four, Simon suffers a life crisis and is depressed. The situation is exacerbated when a guest he interviewed on his show attacks him in the press. To make things worse, Tanya is moving into Clive’s house, much to Simon’s irritation. Meanwhile, Grandma and Grandpa plan a cruise.

In the third episode, Simon announces he has fallen in love with the actor Ben Theodore: “He’s the only person I could possibly be with in my life. He’s so talented. And thin.” He’s also read a book that has him convinced he might be able to control the universe.

Meanwhile, Grandpa has invited Tanya’s old acting coach, Deborah Adler, to tea – she just happens to have been Ben Theodore’s coach too.

And Aunty Liz goes to extreme measures to try to get Adam into a new school.
