Greys Anatomy

Former Grey’s Anatomy doc and brief Charlies Angel,  Rachael Taylor is moving in to 666 Park Avenue,  a new supernatural drama pilot from Fringe co-executive producer David Wilcox that will be made for the US network ABC.

Taylor will star in 666 Park opposite Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters) as one-half of a couple who agrees to manage an historic (and supernaturally-charged) New York City apartment complex owned by an equally creepy older man (played by Lost‘s Terry O’Quinn).

Let’s hope it’s more successful than Charlies Angels, yet doesn’t sound promising.

Greys Anatomy has some major spoiler alerts, as rumours swell that this will be the shows last season.

Already, we have April stepping in as chief resident, but the shuffled order won’t stop there. There’s also going to be a new Chief of Surgery.

The new Chief will be – Dr. Owen Hunt.

“He’s as surprised as anybody else about this. And he’s nervous about it,” Kevin McKidd said, who plays former Army man, Owen. “He’s a man of action, really, and the head of trauma surgery — that’s what he knows. Suddenly, he’s in a more administrative position. I think the way he deals with that is going to be interesting.”

What happened to the chief long known as “the Chief,” Dr. Richard Webber? It will be revealed in the two-hour Season 8 opener that he has opted to step down “because of what’s happening with Adele [and her Alzheimer's] and what happened with Meredith” and Derek’s tainted drug trial, McKidd reports. But whereas Webber’s previous demotion was involuntary and met with animus, “He’s made his peace with it” this time.

That, however, leaves Owen to deal with the fallout of this most unexpected change in the hierarchy. “People give him a hard time,” McKidd says. “It’s not going to be easy for Owen being the chief in the aftermath of Richard Webber.”

Assessing the situation as “complicated, because these doctors and surgeons have huge egos, and they don’t like administrative change,” McKidd says, “It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out.” As an actor, he anticipates “a fun ride” as Owen “tries to shake things up and bring things up to the 21st century in the hospital.”

The most interesting reaction to it all may be that of Owen’s wife, Dr. Cristina Yang, whom McKidd says “will be excited for him, on one level.” But…? “There’s so much more going on in Cristina and Owen’s life,” what with the unexpected (and by her unwanted) pregnancy, “that this in a way that adds another layer of complication for them.”

“They were the real deal — or as much as a real deal can be on Grey’s Anatomy,” Chambers concurs. “That was the love of his life.” Amid talk that the show may be heading into the homestretch, Chambers admits he “would love” to see Katherine Heigl return to give their storyline closure. “Heigl is so fun,” he raves. “She is one of the funnest people I’ve ever worked with. She really is a special gal. I would love to have her back. Maybe we will before the season ends.”

Also, will Meredith forgive Alex for revealing that she tampered with the trial? According to TVline, as Justin Chambers sees it, who plays Alex Karev, that’s one wound that will not be easily healed. “What he did was wrong,” he says. “It was really uncool. There’s nothing worse than a rat fink. The alcohol had a lot to do with it,” Chambers reasons. “That’s the only thing that’s making me go, ‘OK, we all make mistakes. We do stupid things when we drink.’ But still, that’s a hard one to get past.

Chambers also comments on Alex’s love life, saying there is only one woman for Alex – it’s Izzy.

As for Scott Foley staying on, he’s around for “a decent amount of time,” confirms series creator Shonda Rhimes. “We’d keep him around forever if we could.” As would Teddy. “We start out [the season] where they’re really madly in love,” reveals Kim Raver who plays Teddy. “They’re really very, very close right now. I definitely think for Teddy, Henry completes who she is and what she needs. The great thing is that it’s reciprocated,” Raver adds. “It’s sort of the first time [that's happened for her]. It’s a really big deal. ”

Greys currently airs 9.30pm on 111 Hits and Season 8 will premiere on Seven in 2012.

Chuck
Things are looking up for John Casey on Fox 8′s Chuck. Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss is joining Chuck‘s final season as a love interest/foil for Adam Baldwin’s lovelorn spy.

Her character, Gertrude Verbanski, is a former spy who now runs Verbanski Corp. — the chief rival of Chuck and Sarah’s new company. She’s ruthless and deadly, yet she also has a weak spot for Casey, her old rival.

News of Gertrude’s imminent arrival leaked out at America’s cult Comic-Con last weekend, prompting Baldwin to declare, “Casey has either met his match, or his love match.”

Chuck airs on Fox 8 at 8.30pm Fridays.

Two And A Half Men
According to some US websites, Ashton Kutcher may play either Charlie Harper (Sheens charachter) or his illegitmate son. What is known is that his charachter will be called Raymond and that’s about it! Will Charlie die? And will Chuck Lorre stop Sheen from ever returning?

Greys Anatomy
When Grey’s Anatomy opens its eighth season in the US on Sept. 22, very little time will have passed since Derek and Meredith’s big falling out.

“We only pick up five days after the finale ended,” reveals executive producer Shonda Rhimes. “ We pick up pretty much where we left off.”

That means Derek and Merideth are far from resolving their marital crisis, which was further complicated by the new girl in their life, baby Zola. “Meredith and Derek have a lot of things to work out,” Rhimes stressed. “They have their personal relationship, they have their parenting relationship, and they have their work relationship.”

Meanwhile, Cristina has yet to act on her decision to terminate her pregnancy — a sign that perhaps she’s having cold feet. “Five days later and she still hasn’t gone and done it — why hasn’t she and what’s going on with her?” Rhimes muses. “The old Cristina would’ve had the abortion [already].”

The cliffhanger won’t remain unresolved for long, however. “By the end of the season premiere she has made her decision,” Rhimes confirms, “and it’s pretty set in stone what’s going to happen.”

Entourage
Vinny Chase & Co. are officially back in action on HBO’s Entourage in the USA, so what can fans look forward to throughout the remainder of its final season? When creators Doug Ellin and Mark Wahlberg, as well as the cast of TV’s most notorious boys club, dropped by the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour in Beverly Hills, no topic was off limits — including that buzzed-about big-screen take on the showbizzy series.

When all is said and done, the consensus is that Entourage will be remembered for exactly what it was — a fun ride. “I really wanted [the finale] to have a feeling more than anything else,” Ellin explained. “To leave … the audience feeling like they loved hanging with these guys.” The series-ender is “not open-ended,” adding that there are “no major deaths” during the final season. Instead, expect “a vibe of where we were back in year one.”

“We’re all choked up,” Adrian Grenier expressed, of the final season. “It’s not only sad to say goodbye to each other, but to what we created.” Added Kevin Connolly, “It’s been hard…. And as we sit here right now, this is literally the last time we’ll all be together for this show.” Jerry Ferrara called the ending “very, very bittersweet for me.”

Jeremy Piven — who brought Ari Gold, the series’ most iconic character, to life, amassing three Emmys along the way — said, “This season feels like our best. It’s so gratifying to finish this way. Ari has always been such a reactive character, and to humanize him in this last year was a gift that Doug gave to me.”

Kevin Dillon accidentally divulged that the series’ very final scene was shot at the Van Nuys airport — so make what you will of that tiny scooplet.

So, about that movie…. Wahlberg revealed that he is definitely on board with an eventual Entourage flick. “I’ve said that if I have to finance it myself, I’ll do it,” he joked. “I certainly hope that this has a chance to become a feature film.” Providing a more definitive answer — and likening the possible end product to a Hangover-style lark –  Ellin said, “We’re gonna do a movie. It’s just a question of when and how quick… and then we’ll make it happen.”

ABC is the third network (following The CW and Fox) to unveil its detailed premiere plan for the next TV season, and it features five “supersized” openers, including a double dose of Grey’s Anatomy and hour-long helpings of both The Middle and Modern Family. That doesn’t mean our networks will follow suit though.

On hold for later premieres are Shark Tank and the brand-new series Apartment 23 (to air Tuesdays after Cougar Town), Good Christian Belles, Missing, The River, Scandal (from Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes) and Work It. But for fans of these shows – here is the US line up for ABC.

The Felicity and Unit star, who spent a good part of the last year playing husband to Teddy (Kim Raver) on Grey’s Anatomy — will tackle the role of Patrick in Bon Temps.

The gig is not expected to derail Foley’s expected return to Grey’s this fall since his True Blood debut is slated to shoot later this month and Grey’s Anatomy doesn’t resume production until July.
