Zane installs Sophie as head of sta? at the cafe. Bella develops a sneezing allergy that also accidentally triggers her powers. Sophie seizes on the problem and looks to fire Bella and the band.

The full moon rises, and with the planets lining up, it can remove mermaid powers for good. Knowing this, Lewis lures Charlotte to the moon pool but it backfires and Emma, Cleo and Rikki all look set to lose their powers.

4.00PM FRIDAY / MARCH 21 on Ten

Cleo is having some problems on the home front keeping her secret about being a mermaid. Meanwhile, Charlotte gives Lewis an ultimatum about spending time with Cleo and the others. When Lewis struggles to fob Cleo off, Charlotte steps in and bullies Cleo with her superior mermaid powers. Emma and Rikki don’t have time to talk to Cleo and, with everything suddenly too much for her, she runs away to the ocean. With Cleo missing, everyone becomes more and more worried. Lewis discovers what Charlotte has been up to and breaks up with her. He finds Cleo and they kiss.

4.00PM FRIDAY / MARCH 14 on Ten

It’s Lewis’s birthday. Cleo and the others have some ideas how to celebrate but Charlotte quickly takes over and organises a surprise party for Lewis. Charlotte’s plans don’t seem to be about Lewis and Rikki eventually has enough and leaves. The party is at Charlotte’s house with all of Charlotte’s friends. Emma and Cleo find themselves on the outer but when Cleo gives Lewis his birthday present, Charlotte becomes jealous. Charlotte uses her powers to trap Cleo and Emma in a pool room. Rikki comes back just in time and they realise what she’s done. From now on, Charlotte is on her own.

Nate bullies Lewis, pretty much because he can, and when Nate’s jet-ski is damaged he blames Lewis, demanding payment. Meanwhile Emma, Rikki and Cleo continue to have problems accommodating Charlotte as a mermaid, she won’t listen to any advice. Charlotte takes their attempt to help as an attempt to boss her around. Lewis finds himself the middle man, trying to smooth things out between them. Nate’s bullying gets serious and Lewis is nearly hurt. Despite the girls’ attempts to keep Charlotte under control, she uses her powers on Nate and almost exposes them all.

Lewis searches through a research folder on mermaids given to him by Max, somewhere in the research lies a clue to how all this happened. Charlotte becomes jealous of how much time Lewis is spending with his ex-girlfriend Cleo. When Charlotte visits Cleo, she sees a picture of Gracie on the wall and recognises her as her grandmother! Old wounds open up for Charlotte and she steals part of Max’s research: an old movie of Gracie – as a mermaid! Lewis finds himself in a race against time to stop Charlotte from watching the recording but he’s too late. How is he going to explain this?

4.00PM FRIDAY / FEBRUARY 8

There’s a fourth mermaid in town – Charlotte! Emma, Rikki and Cleo reluctantly have to deal with the newcomer. Charlotte is overjoyed, thinking this is the best thing that’s ever happened to her. No matter how much they all try to explain how tricky it is being a mermaid, Charlotte won’t listen. Charlotte turns out to be a loose-cannon and almost turns into a mermaid in front of a crowd at a volleyball competition. Charlotte’s integration into the mermaid club becomes complete when she discovers she has all three mermaid superpowers!

THE GRACIE CODE – Series 2, Episode 19

Lewis continues to search for clues to the magical effects of the moon pool. He discovers someone called Max Hamilton did research fifty years ago on the strange properties of Mako Island. Lewis tracks the old man down. Max is cagey and plays a cat and mouse game with Lewis. But it becomes clear the old guy knows a lot more about mermaids than Lewis first thought – he knew Gracie, one of the mermaids from the fifties! When Max pressures Lewis to take him to Mako Island, he finds Cleo in the moon pool, seeing her as a mermaid! Max has kept the secret for a long time; he’ll do the same for Cleo.

MOONWALKER – Series 2, Episode 14

Don forces the family to go camping on Mako Island during a Full Moon. Cleo can’t get out of it so invites Emma and Rikki for back-up. Lewis inveigles himself to go too but when he tells Charlotte, she pressures him into taking her as well! The girls are furious with Lewis but he’s in a bind. As the full moon strikes, and Emma, Rikki and Cleo are moonstruck, Charlotte finds herself out in the jungle of Mako Island coming across unexplainable phenomena – it’s the girls using their mermaid powers. Emma, Rikki and Cleo go to the moon pool for sanctuary. Charlotte almost slips into the moon pool and realises there is something very weird about that place.
