Heartbeat

One less Heartbeat for 7TWO next week.

Next Monday, April 18 at 7.30pm, Heartbeat is out to make way for a special called: Martin Clunes: Horsepower.

Join Martin Clunes as he travels to some of the most spectacular places in the world to unlock the secrets of man’s partnership with horses. From the remotest parts of Mongolia to the deserts of Arabia; the world’s most lavish racing event in Dubai to hidden ancient tunnels high in the Pyrenees mountains, Martin is set to explore the evolution of the mighty beast that has changed the course of human history.

That is all.

7TWO seem to be the only digital channel to be airing something other than regular day time programming this Wednesday, Australia Day, January 26.

From 2pm until 6pm, is Barry Humphries’ Flashbacks. A series that looks at Australia over the years, decade by decade, starting with the 1950’s. Previously seen on Pay TV, the series features Barry’s alter egos’ Dame Edna and Les with their spin on years gone by.

Final McCallum is at 9.45 Wed Jan 26. A repeat episode plays Wed Feb 2.

Home and Away catch up is back. Sunday Jan 30, the week’s episodes of Home and Away will be played together from 6am.

Some changes to day time programming with repeats of Desperate Housewives at 12.30pm from Mon Jan 31, and NEW episodes of October Road (why is this not on at night!) at 1.30pm weekdays.

Mid-arvo movies remains at 2.30pm, followed by Welcome back Kotter from 4.30pm.

Into ratings season, and 7TWO will continue with their very successful lifestyle based Sunday night programming.

Mon Feb 7 sees repeats of Heartbeat remain at 7.30, followed by new Jonathon Creek at 8.30pm, Maisie Raine at 9.40 and The Sweeney – new to 7TWO at 10.50pm.

No changes to classic British Tuesday nights for Tue Feb 8.

Wed Feb 9 – Heartbeat at 7.30pm, new Pie in the Sky at 8.30pm, followed by the 7TWO premiere of Murphy’s Law at 9.45 – a double episode premiere.

Thursdays remain movie nights, while Fridays remain as lifestyle based after 8.45pm. At 7.30pm Fri Feb 11 and new to 7TWO is That’s My Boy.

No changes to Saturday nights.

7:30pm – Wednesday, December 29 on 7TWO

In tonight’s episode: When Christmas trees go missing from Lady Whitly’s estate, and pine-needles are found in the back of Greengrass’ pick-up, all the evidence points to the lovable rogue. However, all is not quite as it seems when two local children hit on a money making scheme. Kate holds auditions for the Christmas concert and persuades Greengrass to play Santa. Nick and Kate share a precious moment together when a Christmas cracker heralds a joyful, but unexpected surprise…

STARRING NICK BERRY, NIAMH CUSACK, BILL MAYNARD, DEREK FOWLDS, WILLIAM SIMONS, MARK JORDON, STUART GOLLAND, TRICIA PENROSE, TWIGGY LAWSON and BRUCE JONES.

No Changes – remain the same as previous weeks.

The final week of ratings on Seven sees two very big nights of The X Factor – both the Sunday show and the Monday show will be two hours long (and then will most likely run overtime as well).

The final three acts perform on Sunday November 21, only two of which will go through to the Grand Final on Monday November 22. The winner for The X Factor 2010 will be crowned that night.

The Xtra Factor on 7TWO continues after both shows, with its final show on the Monday night following the X Factor live Grand Final.

With the X Factor finishing around 9.30, that means Bones on Sunday night and Criminal Minds on Monday night will also start around 9.30 on their respective nights. Both are repeats.

At 7.30pm, Tuesday November 23, is the final of Iron Chef Australia.

As Packed to the Rafters has its season finale on Tuesday November 16, the 8.30pm timeslot for Tuesday November 23 is yet to announced. 9.30 that night also is a TBA although I would not be surprised if Parenthood fills at least one of those two vacant hours.

UPDATED: Parenthood will air as a two hour finale, Tue Nov 23, 8.30pm.

Onto Wednesdays, and Seven have decided to finish The Force in a double episode on Wednesday November 17 at 7.30pm. At this stage, Wednesday November 24, 7.30pm – the same night the Block has its final on Nine – remains as a TBA. Going against the Block, I would expect Border Security – which always beats the Block in overall ratings – will end up in that timeslot.

At 8.30, Wednesday November 24, is the two hour finale of City Homicide. The show has not yet been renewd for a 5th season although there is a six part mini series to air in 2011.

Thursday night November 25 sees The Amazing Race continues at 7.30. The fast tracked series will continue throughout summer until it reaches the finale, like it did last year, although it may end up on a different night.

Beauty and the Geek Australia has its season two finale from 8.30pm Thursday November 25, in a special 90 minute episode. Expect an announcement for a third series as it ends.

Meanwhile, on 7TWO, the later start for the Xtra Factor on Monday November 23 means there will be an extra episode of Heartbeat that night, taking the total number of episodes in the week to five. Wedding Planner – currently in the 6pm timeslot has a final on Wednesday Nov 24 and is replaced by Floyd’s American Pie from 6pm Thur Nov 25.

Encores of the X Factor and the Xtra Factor remain on 7TWO at 2.30pm Monday and Tuesday. 7TWO now has at least one movie every night except for Tuesdays.

Over at 7mate, the season final of Caprica is on 9.30 Thur Nov 25, while the final season of Star Gate Atlantis plays from 8.30 Thur Nov 25. The encore of The Event remains at 10.30 Thursday night, that being a repeat of the episode seen on Seven on Monday Nov 22 at 10.30pm.

Please note, all this information is correct at time of posting and is subject to change via network amendments. While times for shows most shows will not change, in the last week of ratings for the year, there is likely to be numerous last minute changes to programming especially on 7TWO and 7mate.

Fans of Heartbeat will soon see 4 episodes a week, with an extra episode being added on Wednesday nights and Saturday nights, after the existing 7.30pm episode.

From this Saturday, October 23, Heartbeat will be a double episode from 7.30pm – 9.40pm. That means that Cracker will now move back to a 9.40pm start, and the Knock that was to follow will be out for this Saturday.

The double episodes of Heartbeat will continue every Saturday for the time being.

From Wednesday November 3, there will also be Heartbeat at 7.30 Wednesdays. Combined with the Monday episode, and the two on Saturdays, that means the show will now be seen four times a week on 7TWO.

Heartbeat is 7TWO’s highest rating show. The extra episodes are no doubt to cash in on that fact, as the last six weeks of the 2010 ratings competition unfolds.

Heartbeat on 7TWO Mondays 7.30pm. Saturdays 7.30pm in double episodes. Wednesdays 7.30om from Nov 3.

Please note, I am no longer keeping this post up to date as the number of reads compared to the work involved does not make it feasable anymore.

You can see what is on 7TWO at yahoo TV, yourtv.com.au or other internet guides including the ICE TV guide here on Throng.

Due to ongoing and regular massive last minute programming changes, I will be keeping the TV guide for GO up to date. Also alot of people view it daily.

At this stage, I have no plans to do the same for any of the new channels 7mate or GEM. Again you can find out what is on these channels via your favourite internet TV guides.
