• Martha thinks a storm should have claimed her life and reunited her with Jack.
• Geoff accuses Nicole of flirting with someone else.
• Xavier tries to hide the reality of his brother Brendan from Ruby.

Martha

In the morning after the squall, Hugo finds the boat and Martha washed up on shore!  She’s taken to hospital and is suffering from mild concussion, exhaustion and trauma but otherwise is still ok.

When Rachel tells Tony, she’s not impressed when he asks how the boat is before asking after Martha. Later, he apologises.

Everyone thinks it’s a miracle she survived.  Rachel gets Martha to see a counsellor, thinking she’s disappointed about surviving the accident.  Martha admits to Roman that she felt like she was with Jack out on the boat.

Hugo and Martha

Hugo tells Martha that when he was 17 he had a girlfriend and a new car and a new license.  One night coming home from a date, he lost all three.  He broke his back, left arm, right ankle and was in a pretty bad way.  He says he wanted to give up and not heal.

At his lowest point, Jack came to visit and bought him a model ship building kit as a way of keeping his mind off his injuries.  As cheesey as it sounded, it worked and gave him focus again.  Hugo encourages Martha to keep going.

Martha tells Hugo how much she misses Jack and felt like fate wanted them to be together and was surprised to wake up in hospital.  Hugo says she was so lucky to survive and that fate was working.

Martha gives Hugo Jack’s jacket.

Hugo and Xavier

Hugo tells Xavier his mum and Brendan are coming to stay next week.

Geoff and Nicole

Nicole secretly plans a romantic date for her and Geoff but Geoff gets the wrong idea when he sees her with a guy and gets in a bad mood, saying he can’t trust her.  Nicole says she’s tired of being judged by someone who has no idea what he’s talking about.

Roman bumps into Geoff and says he’s decided to let Nicole go on the trip; which makes Geoff wonder what Nicole was planning!  He apologises to Nicole and they make up yet again.

They go back to the island they first hooked up – but who is on the island watching them?

Aden, Joey and Robbo

Robbo threatens getting Aden fired for supporting Joey’s side of the story.

Joey tells Charlie that she’s afraid of being kicked out of her house by her brother if he learns things about her and is afraid of Robbo coming after her before the court case.  She’s not willing to make a statement yet.

Charlie gently presses Joey to tell her that she’s gay.  Joey is too afraid of the truth coming out.  Charlie says there’s no shame in being gay, no matter what her brother thinks.  Joey says she has no idea what it’s like being her.

Aden goes to visit Joey and finds Robbo hassling Joey again for being gay.  Aden fights Robbo then tells Joey she has to take his power away and stand up for herself.  Joey gets a bit upset but realises what he’s saying is right.

Joey goes down to the police station and is about to make her statement when her brother comes in and drags her home, saying it’s all rubbish!

Martha, Tony and Rachel

Rachel’s excited to come home and find all sorts of baby gear that Tony bought.  He says he’s figured out his priorities now.

Later, they think someone has stolen Jack’s boat – but Martha has taken it out for the day.  However, is a storm on its way?

Irene and Lou

Lou takes Irene to a fancy dinner by the sea and then to the opera.  Irene is overwhelmed and panics, cancelling on him.

Later, Lou admits he was trying too hard to impress her and wasn’t into the opera either.  They end up going on a cute low key date – fish’n'chips and fancy wine on the pier!

Angelo’s murder case

There’s now not enough evidence to take the case to court!

Friday March 13 2009 – Episode 4810

Geoff and Nicole keep having problems
Aden discovers Joey’s secret
Tony finishes fixing up Jack’s boat – he’s working through grief but is Martha?

Nicole, Geoff, Joey and Trey

Nicole’s afraid to tell Geoff that Trey tried to kiss her.

When Trey tries to hassle Nicole, Joey steps in and tells him to get lost.  They end up chatting about how the boys in the town are losers.  Nicole thinks Joey is “kinda cool” and Joey asks her out on a date!  Nicole says she has a boyfriend.  Joey got the wrong idea as she heard she kissed Freya.  Nicole says she’s not into girls but if she was…

Geoff’s surprised to learn Nicole’s been hit on by both Trey and Joey.  Nicole says she doesn’t want to have fun she wants to be with him, which hits home with both of them when they realise what she said.

Geoff tells Nicole that they have nothing in common and it doesn’t feel right any more.  Nicole tells Geoff she doesn’t want to lose him and Geoff agrees.

Tony, Rachel and Martha

Tony is still working on restoring Jack’s boat and a little oblivious to Rachel and her needs.

Martha wants to go on a road trip to where Jack grew up with Hugo but he’s too busy with work to take off right now.

Martha tells Hugo it feels like she has nothing to look forward to in her future.

Hugo gives Martha his bottle of champagne to launch Jack’s boat and she wears Jack’s jacket for it.  Rachel, Tony and Martha celebrate the boat launch together and Martha imagines seeing Jack smiling on the boat.

Aden and Joey

When Aden realises Joey is gay, he realises Robbo’s story won’t hold up and hopes Joey will go to the police.

Joey tells him to go, her brother doesn’t know she’s gay.

Joey agrees to go make a statement to the police.

Thursday March 12 2009 – Episode 4809

Trey causes problems between Geoff and Nicole
Martha struggles to say goodbye to Jack
Miles and Kirsty’s relationship gets worse
Roman and Leah’s friendship deepens

Leah and Roman

Leah and Roman end up having a romantic dinner waiting for Kirsty and Miles.  Roman jokes that their friends should get stuck in closets more often. 

Roman tells Miles he’s just friends with Leah. 

Roman gives Leah a belated birthday present – a master class with a chef at a fancy restaurant.  She is blown away by his thoughtfulness. 

Miles and Kirsty

Miles wonders if there was a “moment” with Kirsty in the cupboard but thinks he should keep his distance from Kirsty so she doesn’t get under his skin.

Miles and Kirsty continue to argue. 

Nicole, Geoff and Trey

Trey studies with Nicole and Roman wonders if there’s more to it.  When Geoff finds out, he’s jealous again. Nicole just wants him to trust her. 

At school, Trey says he turns Nicole on and that Geoff is just too safe and boring. 

Later, he apologises to Geoff at the gym.  When they practice boxing, Geoff lands a massive punch on Trey! 

Trey shows Nicole his swollen eye and says Geoff got really aggressive at the gym.   Geoff says Trey let him get punched on purpose.

While working on their school project, Trey tries to kiss Nicole.  Nicole tells him to leave. 

Martha

For the first time we see Martha with short hair!  She looks great. 

Colleen tries to help Martha pack up Jack’s clothes and give them to charity but she’s not ready yet and snaps at Colleen.  Later, she feels bad.  Alf gently says she needs to let go of Jack and move on.

In the end Martha gives away all his clothes, except for his leather jacket.

Wednesday March 11 2009 – Episode 4808

Xavier gets busted for his accident and Hugo is annoyed
Roman and Leah try to get Miles and Kirsty back together
Kirsty and Miles keep fighting

Martin, Kirsty and Xavier

Martin and Kirsty are ok after the accident, but the cars aren’t.  Kirsty tries to explain that a kid was on a wheelie bin but Martin can’t see Xavier as he’s taken off already. Irene’s car insurance will cover Martin’s car, but not hers.

Meanwhile Xavier hopes he won’t get busted for the accident.

Kirsty finds out from Alf that the wheelie bin was from the caravan park was taken and assumes Jai was on it.  Meanwhile, Martin thinks it was Xavier on the wheelie bin, as Kirsty’s description of the hoodie matched the one he wore at school that day.

Xavier lies to both Martin and Hugo that it wasn’t him.

Jai lies and tells Miles that he caused the accident but eventually Xavier comes clean.  Xavier and Jai are asked to find the money to pay for Irene’s car repairs.

Hugo’s isn’t impressed that Xavier lied to him and says this is his last chance.  If he mucks up again, he’s going back to live with his mum.

Miles and Kirsty

Kirsty and Miles yell over everything when she tries to find Jai to ask him about the wheelie bin.

Roman and Leah sneakily plan a special dinner date for Miles and Kirsty!

Martin offers Kirsty a part-time job, and gets Kirsty to team up with Miles.  While they’re working, they realise Roman and Leah set them up.

Miles finally admits he would have liked Kirsty to have called him before coming back to Summer Bay.  Funnily enough, Miles and Kirsty get accidentally locked in the filing cupboard at school.

They continue to talk and argue over everything.  Eventually they admit they both loved each other once. Martin rescues Kirsty and Miles just as they start to really talk.

Leah and Roman

Meanwhile, Leah and Roman wait for Miles and Kirsty at the diner, which is all romantic with candles.

Irene and Lou

Irene’s nervous about her date with Lou.

Tuesday March 10 2009 – Episode 4807

Aden tells Bell that Robbo attacked Joey and both are frustrated she won’t go to the police
Lou asks Irene out on a date
Xavier’s foolishness causes an accident.

Aden, Belle and Joey

An angry Aden tells Belle that Robbo raped Joey last week and he feels guilty he wasn’t there for her.  Joey isn’t going to tell the police.  Even though he doesn’t agree, he can understand and hopes she’ll change her mind in time.

Aden finds Robbo and grabs him, but Robbo insists that Joey wanted to sleep with him and says she’s crazy for saying he raped her.

Meanwhile, Belle tries to interview Lou about sexual harrassment on his boat but he says “no comment”.  Aden’s not impressed when he finds out. Lou warns Robbo and Aden about harrassment.

Robbo goes over and threatens Joey not to tell anyone and says if she doesn’t he’ll talk about her brother and her other crushes…  Joey runs to Aden and has a go at him for telling Robbo and Belle.  Joey says she just wants to be left alone and Aden to keep his mouth shut.

Miles and Kirsty

Miles and Kirsty are still avoiding each other, which bothers Jai and Alf.

Kirsty asks Martin for her old job back.  Martin considers offering her a part-time casual job but Miles talks to Martin first and says he’ll do the work instead, in his evenings!

Kirsty asks Alf for a job but there’s nothing going.

Irene and Lou

Irene is sent flowers from a secret admirer (Lou, presumably) but Irene thinks they’re just from Colleen saying thanks for donating the venue for the speed dating event.   When Colleen says it’s not her, she wonders who did…

Lou comes in later and admits he sent the flowers and asks her out for a dinner date!

Xavier

Xavier goes go-karting on a rubbish bin and is almost hit by Kirsty’s car but instead Kirsty hits Martin’s car!

Monday March 9 2009 – Episode 4806

• Nicole stumbles upon Belle’s secret.
• Joey feels the post-traumatic effects of her attack.
• Belle is tempted to fall back into her addiction

Belle

Belle comes home at 5am after the concert on a huge high to find Aden worried about her as she didn’t call.

Nicole realises that Belle is taking drugs as she’s popping pills then typing and talking super fast – her mum’s friend used to take them so she recognised the signs.  Nicole asks how long she’s been taking them.

Belle says it’s under control – it was a once-off to help get her through the day.  Belle wants Nicole to promise not to tell Aden.  Nicole agrees – as long as she doesn’t do them ever again.

Geoff and Nicole

Geoff and Nicole keep arguing.  Geoff thinks she’s selfish and she thinks he’s no fun. Later, they apologise and work things out.

Martha and Charlie

Martha and Charlie hang out together.

Aden, Joey and Jonno

Aden gets Joey a job working at the bar for Alf but Jonno comes down to the bar and threatens her to keep her mouth shut.

Charlie notices, and finds Joey out the back, crying.  She says she can’t work there any more.

Aden worries about Joey, wondering what went on.  When he finds her, Joey breaks down and tells him that Jonna raped her.

Australian air date: Friday March 6 2009

• Miles is reeling from the shock of Kane turning up on his doorstep.
• The seeds of romance are sown at the speed dating event.
• Belle is tempted to fall back into her addiction.
  

Kirsty, Kane and Miles

Miles tries to convince Kane that he’s not back together with Kirsty. Miles tells him never to come back like this again.

Kirsty and Kane argue again about why she left him – she tries to say it’s not about Miles but Kane isn’t convinced. So Kirsty drags Kane over to apologise to Miles.  He accepts but says to never try that again.

Kirsty then asks Miles to tell Kane the truth about them: that they’re not together and never will be.  Miles asks them both to leave.

Kane tells Kirsty he doesn’t want to lose her and wants them to be happy again.  Kirsty says they gave things a chance but it didn’t work. Kirsty says while she loves him, it’s over.

Kane leaves, with Ollie staying with Kirsty.  Kane and Kirsty realise this time it’s finally over and hug.

Belle, Annie, Jai, Nicole and Geoff

Belle has to go to a music concert to cover the event and interview the Liam Murphy, lead singer of the band, but is still in a mess.

Alf gives Annie and Jai, Nicole and Geoff free tickets to the concert from one of his suppliers. Nicole has an awesome time but it’s not really Geoff’s thing – they have a big argument over it.

Annie sprains her ankle so Geoff takes her home but Nicole stays on.

Still being affected by the pills, Belle can’t focus properly during the concert and interview.  Liam offers Belle some alcohol and drinks if she wants to really unwind.

Leah and Roman

Leah’s all dressed up for the speed dating event in a cute black dress.  She gets paired up with Roman first.  Roman learns a little about Leah’s past and is intrigued.

Lou and Irene

Colleen tricks Lou into coming for the speed dating event.  Lou offers to help in the kitchen so Roman can do the speed dating event (even though he doesn’t want to).  Out in the kitchen, Lou and Irene get talking and have a great time together.

Australian air date: Thursday March 5 2009

• Xavier enlists some help to try and win Ruby back.
• Colleen is doing her bit for the singles of Summer Bay.
• Kane is furious when he thinks Kirsty has returned to Miles.

Charlie and Hugo

Charlie is disappointed and mad over being stood up by Hugo.

Charlie and Hugo tell Colleen they’re not coming to her speed dating night.

Hugo apologises to Charlie but she’s still mad.

Alf talks to Hugo and tells him how much Charlie got dressed up for the “business” dinner.

Hugo apologises again to Charlie and asks for another chance.  This time she accepts.

Kane, Kirsty and Miles

In the middle of the night, Kirsty runs away from Kane and returns to Irene’s with Ollie.

The next day, Kirsty tries to talk to Miles but they’re interrupted.

Kane turns back up in town, looking for Ollie and furious with Kirsty.  He grabs Ollie from Irene’s place while Kirsty is out.  Irene feels terrible but there’s nothing she could do.

Kirsty finds Kane before he leaves town and they argue over who will have Ollie before he takes off with him.

Kane goes over to Miles and punches him!  He thinks that Miles is back with Kirsty.

Xavier and Ruby

Xavier continues to pay back Ruby – while flirting with her.  With watery eyes, Xavier admits Ruby was right about Freya all along and that Ruby is the one he wants to be with.  Ruby is blown away by this side of Xavier and tells Jai she doesn’t know if she wants to risk getting hurt again.

Xavier asks Jai for his help to win back Ruby.  They make a super cute video for her saying how sorry Xavier is.  She accepts his apology but says that Charlie doesn’t think they should be together still.

However, Xavier gets Hugo to convince Charlie to give Xavier another chance with Ruby.

Xavier and Ruby officially get back together!

Leah and Roman

Colleen manages to convince Leah (but not Roman) to go to her speed dating night.  Roman flirts a little with Leah as she tries to fill in the speed dating form.
