Aden puts his future aside to look after Belle
Charlie has some suspicions about Angelo

Jack’s death aftermath

Tony wants to talk to Martha about Jack’s funeral arrangements but she’s not ready to talk yet.

Forensics are working on Jack’s murder case and Tony’s frustrated about the lack of progress.

Tony thanks Angelo for saving Martha the other night and asks if he could go talk to her.

Angelo feels awkward but Tony is insistent so he goes over. Martha says she feels like there’s something connected them and she’s so thankful for his help. Martha wishes he’d been there to save Jack’s life when he died. Angelo tells her he’s not the hero she thinks he is.

Charlie interviews Tim about Jack’s death, Aden, Belle’s camera memory card and Murray’s location.

Martha and Tony ask Angelo to do a reading at Jack’s funeral. He struggles to know what to say and ends up saying he’s not up to it. Martha finds this weird.

Angelo leaves work in the middle of a shift, which annoys Charlie. He says if she doesn’t like it, she can fire him.

Charlie goes through Tim’s phone records and sees something interesting… she then looks at Angelo’s firearm license.

Meanwhile, Angelo goes to the scene of the shooting and gets really angry with himself.

Angelo calls and apologies to Charlie, saying Jack’s death has got to him. He asks her to come over for a drink. Charlie goes over and secretly takes Tim’s phone (while he’s in custody).

Angelo tells Charlie he fired his gun once accidentally while cleaning it.

Charlie sends an SMS from Tim’s phone to Angelo’s, saying “I know who killed Jack”.

When Angelo gets it, he lies to Charlie about the contents of it. Charlie realises that Angelo is connected to Jack’s death…

Belle

Belle is still really traumatised, afraid and paranoid about Tim coming for her. The hospital wants to discharge her but Belle freaks out. Aden suggests going and staying at Roman’s while she needs to.

The police talk to Belle about Tim as well.

Belle apologies to Angelo for her behaviour and says she regrets everything, if it wasn’t for her Jack will still be alive. Angelo says his death wasn’t her fault. Aden thinks Angelo’s behaviour was weird.

Annie

Annie starts working at the diner.

Aden

Aden decides not to go to University, he wants to look after Belle instead.

Melody faces the consequences of her actions
Is Rachel making a deal with the devil?

Bridget

Rachel questions Bridget about her lying about the cancer. Bridget says she did it to get Alf to like her, to get people to feel sorry for her. Bridget says she’s been diagnosed with a personality disorder that she lies. Rachel doesn’t buy into it and accuses her of being after Alf’s money. Bridget pleads with her not to tell Alf at this time.

Rachel tells Bridget she needs to tell Alf she’s going to the US to get cancer treatment in a special trial there and then to pack up and leave for good and a few weeks later to call him and break things off with him. Rachel wants her gone by the end of the day!

Bridget tells Brian the scam is off but Brian threatens her with going to the police if she doesn’t go through with getting Leah’s money.

Crying, Bridget tells Alf she’s going to the US for cancer treatment and is flying out tonight. Alf asks her to stay until after the funeral – so Bridget agrees.

Rachel isn’t happy that Bridget is staying for a bit longer but warns her she’ll be watching her every move until she goes.

Melody

Melody tells Bartlett the truth about the night of the formal – the drugs from Mathew Lions, the crash, the locking of the doors. Bartlett says it’s likely that Melody will be suspended. Melody makes a statement to the police as well – and is afraid of getting a criminal record.

Miles gets Bartlett to talk to the police to see if they can not charge her.

Melody goes and talks to Aden, apologising for her actions and for Belle’s injuries. Aden is nice to her and says it was an accident and she’ll get through it.

However, Nicole has a go at Melody when she sees her – and tells Aden that she was the one who locked the doors. Aden’s shocked but more annoyed at Nicole. Nicole wishes she’d just stayed in therapy.

The police agree not to charge Melody – she’s relieved. However, Bartlett asks Melody to leave Summer Bay High. Bartlett brings up the forged essay that Melody did for Mathew Lions, the truancy, drugs and putting others at risk and says she’s run out of chances.

Bartlett also wonders if someone else should be looking after Melody.

Belle

Belle is really afraid that Tim will come after her and is sure Jack’s death is related to the development site and doesn’t want to leave hospital.

Aden

Aden’s unsure as to what he’ll do now he’s finished school.

Thursday, January 22, 7:00pm

As the events of the school formal night are pieced together, Melody is pressured to admit the terrible truth.

Leah and Miles

Leah thanks Miles for helping to rescue her last night.

Melody

Jai’s (naturally) mad at Melody over causing the accident. Melody apologises to Miles. Miles says she needs to go and talk to the police about the accident and says it’s very serious.

Jai urges Melody to be honest about taking drugs and locking the doors of the hall – or he’ll tell Miles.

Miles talks to Bartlett who thinks Melody should get some professional help. She doesn’t mention the drugs and says she doesn’t need to see a doctor.

Later, she has a flashback and remembers locking the doors of the hall.

Melody packs her things and tries to leave but is caught and Jai tells Miles about the drugs.

Miles is a little relieved in some ways – at least it explains her behaviour. Melody is afraid her parents will find out and regrets taking the drugs and causing all the problems. Finally, Melody tells Miles she was the one who locked the doors.

Alf and Bridget

Bridget returns, saying she wants to be there for him right now. Alf wonders what he’d do without her.

Bridget brings flowers over for Martha – and apologies to Rachel for the other day. Rachel starts asking questions about her cancer treatment, which makes Bridget uncomfortable.

Bridget gets a call from her mum, who thinks she has cancer and is asking how she is!

Kane and Kirsty

Miles feels awkward around Kirsty and Kane.

Kane wants a second chance with Kirsty but she doesn’t want to talk to him about things in front of Ollie.

Kirsty tells Leah she’s afraid of messing things up and is so confused now Kane is out of jail and almost died and yet she was in love with Miles a few days ago.

Rachel

Rachel tells Leah that she thinks Bridget is lying about the cancer – she’s definitely lying about her doctor. Leah thinks she shouldn’t tell them until she’s sure about everything, especially at this time.

Rachel secretly goes through Bridget’s things at the bar and finds a letter addressed to Bridget.

Bridget confronts Rachel about calling her mother and Rachel says she’s never had cancer!

Summer Bay struggles with the aftermath of the school formal disaster

Jack’s death

Martha has a dream sequence with Jack (even though he is dead) – he wishes he’d never gone back to the force but Martha blames herself for pushing him to go back. Jack says he’ll always look after her and nothing can stop him from doing that.

Martha says she’s been so focussed on herself lately, with her health, and wishes she’d focussed more on them as a couple and regrets going to the retreat alone. Martha says she’ll never forgive herself but Jack says that even when she was so sick he was unbelievably happy to her her husband and loves her so much. Martha says she’ll love him more than he’ll ever know.

Meanwhile, Tony and Alf wait for Martha to leave the hospital room with Jack. Eventually Tony goes in there and Martha leaves with him, sobbing. Rachel covers his face with a sheet. Farewell Jack :(

At home, Martha goes to her room, continuing to cry, leaving Tony upset by himself.

As news spreads of Jack’s death, everyone is overcome with shock and sadness and concern for Martha and Tony.

Roman brings over some food and finds Tony still in shock and he recounts the events of the previous night. He says he prayed and prayed but it was too late, the ambulance crew couldn’t bring him back to life – his death would have been instantaneous. Tony says he feels like he’s living a nightmare and says Martha looked like she had died as well.

Roman goes in to see Martha, who is still crying on her bed. He says he’s there for her if she needs him.

Later Tony goes in to see Martha and they hug, Martha realising how deep Tony is in pain over Jack’s death.

Kane

Kane finally wakes up after surgery, with Kirsty there by his side.

As fire engulfs the school hall, survivors battle to free those trapped inside
Will Kane survive?
Tony makes a horrifying discovery

The aftermath of the crash and shooting

Angelo has a mini-breakdown after the shooting.

Leah is ok but Belle is pinned down and can’t move and is in a lot of pain. Geoff and Aden rescue her.

They can smell gas and there’s sparks flying from the power box! Geoff is shocked to learn Annie’s in the car and Kirsty is shocked to see Kain in there.

There’s mass panic as people realise they’re trapped and Barlett tries to get everyone under control.

There’s a big explosion and suddenly fire starts to spread in the hall!

Miles smashes the windscreen of the car and Annie can get out ok. Kane is unconscious but still breathing. When Miles tries to help rescue him, he’s hit by a falling beam of wood and temporarily knocked out on the ground.

Emergency services turn up and break down the doors so everyone can escape.

Meanwhile Melody stands, shocked – realising what she’s set in motion.

Kirsty prays for help as she struggles to pull out Miles and Kane. Miles is rescued but will Charlie rescue Kane in time?

Bartlett may have fractured his ribs. Belle and Jai are taken off in an ambulance.

Suddenly there is a massive explosion and the car bursts into flames. Kirsty screams out Kane’s name.

Charlie just has a lot of smoke in her lungs but is ok.

Annie tells Irene how Melody stepped out on the road which caused Kane to serve the car and crash into the community hall.

Martha wonders where Jack is and is worried. She goes into the school hall looking for him and collapses with the smoke. She dreams that Jack comes and rescues her but then realises in reality it’s Angelo who rescued her. Everyone praises Angelo for being a hero and saving Martha – but of course Angelo is full of guilt for shooting Jack.

Belle may have a spinal injury and is to be transferred to the city.

Aja, the school captain feels bad she lost the plot in the hall. Meanwhile, Bartlett is impressed with Nicole and Geoff’s behaviour and help at the hall.

Jai is ok.

Kane is still in surgery and things are serious.

In hospital, Martha is very concerned about where Jack is – since he didn’t turn up to a major emergency.

Tony goes hunting for him and discovers Jack is dead.

Monday, January 19, 7:00pm

I’ve just watched a sneak preview spoilers video for Home and Away in 2009 and want to know who you think dies in Home and Away?

Because the coffin has an Australian flag on it, I am presuming it will be someone who has either been in the police force or the army. This means it could be Jack, Roman or Charlie.

My guess? JACK.

Could anyone pls tell me how I can create a Home and Away poll on this website?

I’m sorry but this has been bugging me a lot LOL.

How could Martha afford to buy a boat for Jack?

Jack said they were completely out of money before Martha went on the retreat, their savings were all gone thanks to Martha’s medical bills, and their credit cards were stacked to the max as well.

A boat is NOT cheap at all (even if it is run down). I know that Morag gave Martha money but that was to pay back Roman for paying for the retreat.

It’s really annoying me that they didn’t explain this, given their money worries were a big saga so recently.

Anyone have any ideas OR has this been bugging you too?
