Lost “deleted” scene released at Comic Con

Lost creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse unveiled a so-called “deleted” scene from the series at their Comic Con 2011 panel ‘Totally Lost: One Year Later’ this week. The clip was said to prove that the series was planned all along but in reality it was shot just a few weeks ago as a special treat for Comic Con attendees.

Goodman signs on for Community

John Goodman has signed on to appear in the third season of Community. The Big Lebowski actor will play the vice dean of the school of air conditioning repair on the comedy series.

Kerr lands TV role

Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr has signed on for a role in the Project Runway All-Stars reality series. The role is said to be a springboard or her to break into film acting.

Series regular cast on House

Actress Odette Annable has landed a series regular role on House as a doctor at a prison. Annable has previously appeared in the likes of Brothers & Sisters and the J.J. Abrams film Cloverfield.

Conan O’Brien wins walk-on role on HIMYM

American talk-show host Conan O’Brien has won a walk-on part in How I Met Your Mother at a recent charity event. Producers of the series are looking to write him in as a quest character rather than simply an extra in the background.

Dunn was over limit when crash occurred

Jackass’s Ryan Dunn, who died in a car crash earlier this week, was confirmed as over the legal blood alcohol limit when the accident occurred. Both Dunn and his passenger Zachary Hartwell were killed instantly.

Kim Kardashian is said to be close to a deal with the E! channel over televising her wedding to Kris Humphries. Kardashian claims the deal is to help her fans celebrate with her on the most important day of her life.

South Korean Top Gear on the way 

A local version of Top Gear has been commissioned for South Korea following the show’s successful debut in China earlier this year. The series will be hosted by former professional racing drivers.

Former Lost star Terry O’Quinn (Locke) is apparently  return to Hawaii and act opposite his old co-star Daniel Dae Kim (Jin Kwon) in a recurring role on the upcoming season of Hawaii Five-0, where he’ll play a Navy Seal lieutenant commander.

O’Quinn will play a Navy Seal Lt. Commander who trained Alex O’Loughlin’s McGarrett in Coronado, and served with his father in Vietnam. Described as strong, stubborn and a man you want in your corner when things go south, the character holds some of the answers to the mysteries surrounding the respective murders of McGarrett’s mother and father.

In other news, ‘Lost’ star Doug Hutchison has married 16-year-old beauty queen Courtney Alexis Stodden. The 51-year-old who plays creepy scientist Horace in Lost, says his love for his young beauty is ageless.

‘We’re aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial,’ the couple told E.Online. ‘But we’re very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless.’

The couple tied the knot late last month.In order for a minor to obtain a marriage licence in Nevada, parental consent is required. Courtney’s parents gave it willingly. ‘We are totally supportive of this marriage,’ her mother Krista Stodden told Radar Online. ‘Doug is a wonderful man and we love him. They are very much in love and we are so supportive of this.’

Lost actor Naveen Andrews has been cast in a new British series, entitled Sinbad, that is based on the iconic mythological character but given a modern twist.

Neighbours to have first gay couple

Neighbours will have its first ever gay couple on the series later this year when a former Home and Away actor join the cast as a love interest for an existing character. While there have been gay characters on the soap in the past, as far as a couple is concerned it is a first for Neighbours.

NBC wins My Name is Earl lawsuit

NBC bosses have won a lawsuit against a writer who claims he created the concept for My Name Is Earl. The man sued the network back in 2008 after he alleged the sitcom was ripped off a script called Karma he wrote and shopped around to TV networks in 1995.

Former NSYNC member Lance Bass has announced plans for a new boyband reality series. Bass has gathered together a judging panel made up of former members of boybands such as Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block and NSYNC.

Jersey Shore cast hold out for more pay

The cast of MTV reality series Jersey Shore will reportedly earn their highest salaries yet in the show’s fifth season after holding out for more pay. The network was attempting to sign them on the same contracts as the fourth season but lawyers for the cast members refused negotiations unless they were redrawn under new terms.

Characters revealed for new Chris Lilley series

Summer Heights High creator Chris Lilley has announced the characters for his new comedy series Angry Boys. Lilley will play a juvenile detention worker, an overprotective Japanese mother, a former pro surfer and a black rapper as well as reprising his role as the Sims brothers from his first series We Can Be Heroes.

MTV announces two Jersey Shore spin-offs

MTV has announced two Jersey Shore spin-off series that will feature Snooki, JWoww and Pauly D. The first will feature the girls as they deal with life and love while the second will follow Pauly D as he travels the world as a DJ.

Italian Jersey Shore delayed

The season of Jersey Shore set to be shot in Italy has been delayed thanks to the banding together of Italian nightclubs and hotels who are against the series. Venues are reportedly resistant to allowing the series to shoot on their premises due to the extreme behaviour of the cast members.

Sheen offers to pay crew’s wages

Death on NCIS set

A security guard was killed yesterday on the set of crime drama NCIS after he was hit by a wayward van. The man was struck by the vehicle as it left the road and veered into the area in which he was working. Production has been suspended indefinitely.

A new pilot from Lost creator J.J. Abrams has been greenlit by CBS.

The project, Person of Interest,  is the brainchild of both Abrams and screenwriter Jonah Nolan, brother of Dark Knight and Inception director Christopher Nolan.

Details about the pilot are fairly limited but Entertainment Weekly understands that it centres on a CIA officer who is presumed dead working on a secret project for a reclusive billionaire.

Original Grey’s Anatomy character to return 

One of the original members of Grey’s Anatomy is set to return to the medical series this year after first appearing in the show’s first season. The character is said to arrive back at Seattle Grace Hospital in need of medical attention.

MTV execs express concern over US Skins series

MTV execs have shown their concern over the new US adaptation of teen series Skins where they feel future episodes could possibly break child pornography laws. Network bosses are concerned that some of the scenes in the series may unintentionally act as “significantly sexually suggestive”.

Former Lost actress joins Gossip Girl

Former Lost actress Sheila Kelley has signed on for a role on Gossip Girl to play the sister of one of the characters. Kelley appeared in Lost as Zoe and has had roles in the past on the likes of The Sopranos and ER.

Banks joins Modern Family

Modern Family has recruited actor Jonathan Banks to play the brother of Ed O’Neill’s Jay. Banks, who has had roles in Breaking Bad, Dexter, Castle and Lie To Me, will appear in the show’s second season early this year.

Former Lost actor Jorge Garcia has been signed on for J.J. Abrams’ new TV project Alcatraz. Garcia, who played Hurley on Lost, has been cast as Dr Diego Soto in the new series which centres on the infamous San Francisco prison.

Musical episode for Grey’s Anatomy

Several reports are suggesting that the makers of Grey’s Anatomy are planning a musical episode of the drama series. It is understood that the episode will air in the second half of the show’s current season in the US.

New drama series being Human has scooped the Best Television Drama award at the recent Writers’ Guild Awards in the UK, beating out the likes of Doctor Who to take the title. Coronation Street continued its dominance over the Continuing Drama category while mini-series Occupation picked up Best Short-Form Drama.

Cannes winner to be developed for TV

The 2008 Cannes Film Festival Grand Jury Prize winning mafia film Gomorrah is set to be developed into a TV series. The makers of the film will develop the plot into a 12 episode series with the help of Sky Italia.
