The personality is on the plate and the food is the star of the show. Network Ten’s smash hit series MasterChef returns tonight and promises to excite, thrill and entertain like never before! Inspired by the previous three series, a new wave of amateur chefs have been born – they are curing their own meats and growing their own vegetables – and cooking at an unprecendented level of skill. Season Four promises to draw on the success of the past series with a few new twists and turns along the way while delivering some stunning challenges. This year, the focus is back on the food. We will grow to know and love the contestants through the food they cook and the stories their dishes will tell – it will make us laugh and cry when we feel their losses and celebrate their triumphs – from Mystery Boxes to Invention Tests, MasterClasses, Team Challenges and Pressure Tests and an exciting new take on the Immunity Challenge.
Returning to judge and support the contestants will be iconic MasterChef judges George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston – with Matt Moran appearing regularly as a mentor. In tonight’s premiere episode, for the ” rst time ever, the journey will begin in Melbourne. Top amateur cooks from around Australia arrive in Melbourne to cook for the judges, and secure a coveted place in the Top 50. Who will make it though?
