Seven has changed their mind about airing new travel series High Road, Low Road at 7pm on Saturdays.

The new series, which explores the comparison between travelling to destinations with little or no budget to what it would be like with unlimited budget, has been placed on hold, in favour for playing out the remaining two unaired episodes of Find My Family.

Find My Family can now be seen at 7pm Saturday Dec 4 and Dec 11, while 7pm Dec 18 is an episode of Medical Emergency.

The future of High Road, Low Road is not clear – it may end up on Seven at another time, or go to 7TWO. The style of show is a good fit for one of 7TWO’s lifestyle nights. Although, having watched previews of the show, it fits perfectly into Saturday night on Seven, and makes a good show to follow No Leave, no Life at 6.30pm. Seven must have other ideas now.

Meanwhile, Seven have updated their movies for week 51. At 8.30pm Thur Dec 16 is the movie The Mummy Returns. At 8.30 Fri Dec 17, is The Santa Clause 3, followed by We’re Here to Help.

Sat Dec 18 at 8.30 is Carols in the Domain, which will be encored on 7TWO at 4.30 Fri Dec 24. Most shows on 7TWO in the week leading up to Christmas are Christmas specials, while on 7mate, programming is much the same as usual – you’d hardly notice it was Christmas with regular programming on Fri Dec 24 and Sat Dec 25.

Seven have named some of the shows that will be filling some of the TBA timeslots in the first week of their summer schedule.

Shows include new episodes of Under the Hammer, Medical Emergency, ICU, Border Patrol (NZ), Coast watch (NZ) and Beat the Star’s remaining episodes.

Also coming to Seven will be Outlaw – NBC’s legal drama featuring Jimmy Smits, I Shouldn’t be Alive from the producers of the acclaimed film “Touching the Void” which is a new series that showcases stories of human survival against all odds, Minute to Win It USA, and Animal Squad which is a British RSPCA series.

Timeslots for all of these shows, as well as a few others, will be confirmed shortly.

A reminder, that The Event and The Amazing Race will continue through summer while a new season of No Leave, No Life premieres on Saturday December 4 at 6.30pm. That is followed by new travel series High Road, Low Road at 7pm in which Tom Williams and Rachael Finch take us to some of the world’s best travel destinations – one’s a budget, the other unlimited cash.

Now we know Minute to Win It will take over the Australia’s Got Talent timeslot, what about all the other timeslots about to be vacated by finishing shows in Seven’s prime time programming? With the amount of one off programming coming up on Seven, it would be easy to think there is a winter non ratings period coming up in time for the June/July school holidays.

Australia’s Got Talent, Private Practice, Grey’s Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters and Find My Family will all finish over the next two weeks. Desperate Housewives a few weeks later. So far – with Bones and Castle finished on June 6, no definite programming has been planned for Sunday nights other than movies.

As for Wednesday night, last Wednesday – the first week since the Pacific concluded – saw Seven offer two factual specials which did not rate very well at all. Next Wednesday – against the State of Origin – Seven will play the movie Schindler’s List – which will be a four hour ordeal, thanks to ads in what is already a long movie without breaks.

On Monday June 14, 7.30pm, there is a special called Breaking the Magician’s Code: Magic’s Secrets Revealed – which essentially is one of these shows that appear every now and then discussing how magicians perform certain tricks and illusions.

On Wednesday June 16, 7.30pm, another one off Medical Emergency, billed as a one hour special episode called Rescue Special.

The following week is still filled with “to be advised” timeslots. Timeslots yet to be confirmed include: 8.30pm Sunday June 20 (2.5 hours), 9.30pm Monday June 21 (1.5 hours), 7.30pm Wednesday June 23 (1 hour), 8.30pm Wed June 23 (2 hours) and 10.30pm Wed June 23 (1 hour).

8.30pm Tuesday June 22 also shows as “to be advised” but should be confirmed as the two hour finale of Grey’s Anatomy.

With school holidays in many states spanning June 27 – July 11 or July 4 – July 18, there may be more on off specials in some of these timeslots as Seven may chose to launch new shows in one big week in July. Packed to the Rafters will definitely return in July but a date is not yet set (I tip Tuesday July 13). Other shows almost certainly likely to return to Seven in July include City Homicide and Dancing with the Stars.

Shows still to come on Seven this year include:
Beauty and the Geek Australia (probably not until September)
Hung (now being promoted, so could be soon)
Beat the Star (another game show)
Australia Versus (new comedy show announced this week)
World’s Strictest Parents (rated well last year, so expect it back probably soon on Wednesdays)
Highway Patrol (Most likely to return to Monday nights)
RSPCA Animal Rescue (Most likely to double up with Highway patrol on Monday nights)
My Kitchen Rules season 2 (most likely a September return but being held until 2011 is also a possibility)
Criminal Minds (new episodes)
Damage Control
Parenthood

8:00pm – Wednesday, November 25 on Seven

On the season finale of MEDICAL EMERGENCY, heart transplant patient Simon is about to get a second chance at life; a man has a creepy crawly in his ear and his nurse has a spider phobia; and an injury on a basketball court may jeopardise a young man’s career.

Simon has spent the last 10 months in Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital. He’s only survived this long because of an artificial heart. Now because of a precious gift from a stranger, Simon has a second chance.

After an anxious wait to see if the heart is suitable. Simon’s transplant surgery is finally underway. After the months of waiting, his family is overwhelmed.

In Melbourne’s city centre, paramedics attend a callout to a man who has been injured at a basketball game. Chris is given pain relief to help him relax his dislocated shoulder. This is not the first time this injury has occurred.

Back at Sydney’s Hawkesbury Hospital 62-year-old Richard is waiting to have a spider removed from his ear. Although the spider is dead, it will be tricky to remove in one piece.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY is narrated by CHRIS GABARDI.

8:00pm – Wednesday, November 11 on Seven

This week on MEDICAL EMERGENCY, a 17-year-old boy has been flown in from Echuca after impaling himself on a spiked metal fence and the Air Ambulance are called to a high speed crash to rescue a driver trapped in a 4 wheel drive. Meanwhile, a mother has rushed her 5 year old to hospital after he was bitten by one of Australia’s most infamous spiders.

At the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, 17 -year-old James urgently needs a CT scan to find out exactly where the spike is sitting. Doctors are concerned the spike may have pierced James’ chest cavity and damaged a lung or major artery.

He will need to go straight to theatre so surgeons can undertake the delicate task of removing the 10cm metal spike.

At the crash scene the paramedics are working to stabilise crash survivor Chris after a high speed head on collision. Although Chris is conscious and talking he may have life threatening injuries. He needs to get to hospital quickly.

At the Alfred Hospital, a 25-year-old man has just arrived after injuring his finger during training. With finals season approaching he can’t afford to miss a minute of training.

At the Hawkesbury Hospital in Sydney’s North West, a 5-year-old boy is being treated after he was bitten by a Redback while putting on his shoes. Will he need the anti-venom?
