Mornings With Kerri-Anne

Kerri-Anne Kennerley has rightfully so, come lashing out at Channel Nine. The new Dancing with the Stars addition has compared the network to the ill fated ship, the Costa Concordia.

Newly signed with powerhouse Channel Seven, where she will hopefully get the respect she deserves, Kerri-Anne has said that after learning of her demise from The Sunday Telegraph, “I don’t think it’s too much to expect a little courtesy, no matter who you are.”

After spending December on safari in South Africa, she has compared the wid animals to the executives at Channel Nine. ” I loved it (safari), seeing all those wild animals, and having worked at Willoughby I was very well placed to deal with them.”

Having not watched the new ‘Mornings’ with Sonia Kruger and David Campbell (she’s not missing much) Kennerley also said about Channel Nine  “It’s on the record that they’re being chased by a bunch of banks who will need to resolve their financial issues”.

The glamorous star also said about Nine that “When people are under stress they don’t always do things as you would expect them to do things and there’s no denying that those Channel 9 executives are under high stress. There are a few paralells between Nine and the Costa Concordia – they veer off course, hit the rocks, try and right themselves and sink and the captain gets off first, so lets see how this year pans out”. Ouch! but so true.

Kerri-Anne will have a prime time show on Seven this year and can’t wait to see her frocked up for this years Dancing With The Stars that is also rumoured to star ex-Australian Idol runner up, Shannon Noll.

Nine’s new morning daytime talk show “Mornings”, hosted by Sonia Kruger and David Campbell, debuts at 9am Monday February 6, 2012.

The show replaces Kerri-Anne as the network’s morning show after a much talked about and rumoured fall out between Nine and Kerri-Anne late in 2011.

Sonia Kruger defected from Seven to take on the role, and will also be hosting Big Brother on Nine when it airs after The Olympics in August.

Mornings promises to be an exciting mix of topical issues, the best celebrity interviews, cooking with Australia’s top chefs, LIVE music performances, the latest in fashion and beauty trends as well as moving real life stories – ordinary people doing extraordinary things (no doubt including the usual infomercials these 9am talk shows feature).

Meanwhile, the summer series of Kerri-Anne continues to air on Nine this week (Jan 30 – Feb 3) at 9am weekdays.

Mornings on Nine, 9am weekdays from February 6.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, a Nine source confirms Sonia Kruger has officially signed with that network last Friday.

Rumours have surrounded the Dancing with the Stars host in recent weeks suggesting she would front Nine’s reincarnation of Big Brother in 2012.

Now it is confirmed Kruger will not only host Big Brother but will also replace Kerri-Anne in Nine’s weekday 9am-11am timeslot.

Kerri-Anne Kennerley, who has hosted her show in that time slot for nine years, has been “missing in action” for the past few weeks as others have hosted the show in her absense.

Kruger’s appointment comes as confirmation that Kerri-Anne will no longer appear on Nine. The new show, set to air in 2012, will be Sonia’s main focus over Big Brother.

Yesterday morning on Kerri-Anne, a comment was made referring to women who go out late at night with AFL players as “strays”. This was in a conversation between Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Peter “Spida” Everitt.

A statement was then issued after the interview in which a spokesperson for Kerri-Anne said: “Responsibility cuts both ways with these sorts of situations, and not just one party. We should always hear both sides of the story before we form an opinion.”

The above statement was by no means meant to play down the very serious allegations of rape and domestic violence. It was in reference to a small segment of the conversation between Spida and Kerri-Anne.
