ELEVEN is bringing the party back to Saturday mornings with a show that’s taking the next step in music and entertainment television.

One problem – we’re one host short.

Today ELEVEN is launching ‘Hunt For A Host’, our nationwide, online campaign to track down the hottest new gal in music. The lucky lady will be joining the loveable Scott Tweedie in counting down Australia’s favourite tracks, as well as covering the hottest news in film, online and from the Twitterverse.

Our casting call goes out to all ladies over 18 with a firm grasp of pop culture, and a bank of music knowledge. To get their foot in the door, bright and edgy hopefuls must head to the Eleven Music website and upload an audition piece by Thursday 15 December. The winner will be chosen the following week, and set into the mix with Tweedie.

Tweedie comes to ELEVEN fresh from the halls of the ABC, where he heads up ABC3’s ‘Prank Patrol’. The fresh-faced presenter has also hosted Studio 3, 3on3 and the 2011 Trop Jr Festival, making him one of TV’s most recognisable faces for younger audiences.

Network Ten chief programming officer, David Mott, said: “We think an interactive music and entertainment program of this nature fits in perfectly with the demographic ELEVEN is focused on. It’s a fresh, forwardthinking format that not only showcases the best of the entertainment industry, but also embraces the wonderful technology we have available to us now.”

Tweedie, who is making his commercial television debut, said: “I think every Australian kid grew up watching music programs on the weekends, to be a part of one that’s so dynamic is really exciting. As for my new host, I can’t wait to meet them! My start on TV came through winning a competition, so it will be great to show someone else the ropes.”

As for the show itself, we’re playing our cards close to our chest – name, date and production details to be released in the coming weeks. Full application details in regards to the Hunt for a Host are available at www.eleven.com.au/hunt-for-a-host.htm.

CONCERT FOR DIANA
Monday, July 2 at 8.30pm

Prince William and Prince Harry will mark the 10th anniversary of their mother’s death with an historic event to celebrate her life: the Concert for Diana on July 1, which would have been the princess’s 46th
birthday.

Concert for Diana, one of the first events to take place in London’s new Wembley Stadium, will showcase a stellar line-up of internationally acclaimed artists including Elton John, Rod Stewart, Bryan Ferry, Joss Stone, Duran Duran, Lily Allen, Kanye West, Nelly Furtado, P. Diddy, Natasha Bedingfield, Tom Jones, Will Young, Fergie, The Feeling, James Morrison, Orson, Status Quo, Pharrell Williams, Roger Hodgson of Supertramp, and Take That. The star-studded bill reflects the favourite artists of Diana, William and Harry.

In recognition of Diana’s love of ballet and musicals, the concert will also include a performance by the English National Ballet and a medley created especially by Andrew Lloyd Weber with special appearances by Anastacia, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Donny Osmond and Jason Donovan.

Following the announcement of the princes’ plans for a commemoration of their mother’s life, Prince William said: “We both wanted to put our stamp on it. We want it to represent exactly what our mother would have wanted. We wanted to have this big concert full of energy, full of the sort of fun and happiness which I know she would have wanted. And on her birthday as well, it’s got to be the best birthday present she ever had.”

Nine’s chief entertainment editor, Richard Wilkins, will anchor Nine’s telecast of the event and interview the main talent for the Today show and A Current Affair in the lead up. Concert for Diana will be broadcast to hundreds of millions of viewers around the world in over 140 countries. Proceeds from the concert will go to a number of charities that were supported by the princess, and to two of the princes’ own charities, Centrepoint and Sentebale.
