$#*! My Dad Says

Try not to look too surprised here.

Nine have taken off $#*! My Dad Says from Tuesday nights, replacing it with The Big Bang Theory at 8pm. That now means there are two nights a week in Nine’s schedule with triple episodes of Big Bang from 7pm – Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Same Name – Lame programming. Why is it, that just about everyone who comments on sites like this and Nine’s own Facebook page knew that Same Name would have been a flop in ratings?

Last Wednesday, the show managed 525,000, and dragged down Nine’s night with it. Expect to see it on GEM one day! Same Name will be replaced by documentary series Ocean Giants: Giant Lives – the fourth change to 7.30 Wednesday in as many weeks. Methinks Top Gear Australia might work better at this time, when it is not against Packed to the Rafters on Seven?

Speaking of Top Gear Australia, Nine have moved that as well from 8.30 to 9.30 on Tuesday night. No idea why they thought it would do well in that timeslot either. At 8.30, Under Surveillance airs, with an episode called Charlotte’s Web.

10.30 that night is a repeat episode of Top Gear.

Source: Many EPGs.

Questions: Why do I now have to find out this information from EPG’s? Why aren’t Nine sending out amendments to bloggers anymore? Whether they send them out or not, it’s not going to change anyway at all what we post and write about these excessive programming changes.

Ratings predictions: Ocean Giants 600,000. Under Surveillance 600,000. Top Gear Australia 300,000.

At this stage, no clue as to what will happen the week after next as the Foxtel advance guide ap – which allows you to look 14 days in advance – still has the programming unchanged – that is, Same Name is still on, Top Gear Australia at 8.30 Tuesday. Obviously that is all wrong now.

I don’t think Nine have any clue what to air that week either – they’ll watch and see what happens with ratings and then decide.

Nine rearranges Wednesday nights.

Prior to its premiere on Monday, Nine were promoting that The Farmer Wants a Wife would continue Wednesdays, yet Wednesdays still featured Top Design in the schedule at 7.30 with RPA at 8.30.

Now, The Farmer Wants a Wife will air at 7.30pm Wednesdays, which will be its regular timeslot from now on. At 8.30 a repeat of The Mentalist (odd choice), followed by RPA at 9.30 then Top Design at 10.30pm. Meanwhile on GEM, the same episode of Top Design airs at 8.30pm, while The Closer and Rizolli & Isles revert back to their usual times of 9.30 and 10.30 respectively.

Nine’s encore Night – GEM Friday night.

Both the Monday night and Wednesday night episodes of The Farmer Wants a Wife will air on GEM this Friday August 26, from 7pm. Then, at 9.30pm is an encore of Underbelly: Razor (presumably in HD) for the benefit of those who did not catch it first time round or want to see it again. The Farmer Wants a wife is also encored on Nine on the weekend – check local guides.

$#*! My Programming Is?

According to a promo tonight on Nine, next Tuesday (August 30) at 8pm is a new episode of $#*! My Dad Says. My question is why? If it didn’t rate before, what makes them think it will rate now?

Other changes…

There was a The Block Unlocked scheduled for 6.30pm, Sunday August 28, now that is out, in favour for two episodes of RBT from 6.30 – 7.30pm. Monday August 29 at 8pm is TBA, while Big Bangs remain at 7.30pm Monday and Tuesday, as well as Thursday at 7.30 and 8.00pm. That’s on top of weeknights at 7pm, and a few episodes on GO!

Nine have released their schedule for the first week of Easter non-ratings, week commencing April 17. The schedule includes The Big Bang Theory at 7pm weekdays – like what Brisbane have already been doing, and many, many repeats of regular Nine titles.

Here’s the summary.

1. Sunday April 17

ACA Sunday remains at 6.30pm. At 7pm, is Easter with the Australian Women’s Weekly. 60 Minutes airsat 7.30 as usual.

After 8.30, The Mentalist will be a repeat, followed by another replay of the Harry’s Law pilot at 9.30pm.

2. Weekdays, 7pm.

After experimenting in Brisbane for a few weeks now with The Big Bang Theory stripped across 7pm instead of Two and a half Men, Nine are set to extend the move to the rest of the network, starting with the pilot on Monday April 18 at 7pm.

Should this programming remain, it will be an opportunity for fans to see the entire series in order at a stable time. Problem is, there are still extra episodes on Nine, as well as GO which may add to the confusion.

3. Monday April 18.

A repeat of Two and a Half Men is at 7.30, followed by a new episode of $#*! My Dad Says at 8pm. 8.30 and 9.30 TBA.

Note, however, that Two and a Half Men and $#*! My Dad Says BOTH also air on GO!

4. Tuesday April 19.

A repeat of Big Bang at 7.30pm (season 3), followed by another new episode of $#*! My Dad Says at 8pm. At 8.30 is a repeat of Top Gear, while 9.40 remains TBA. Kitchen Nightmares at 10.40 is new.

5. Wednesday April 20.

Getting boring now…

A repeat of Big Bang at 7.30pm (season 3), followed by another replay of the Mike& Molly pilot at 8pm. New RPA: Where Are They Now follows at 8.30pm.

At 9.30, the AFL states will have their Footy Show on, this is because there is an AFL match played on Thursday April 21 instead of Good Friday April 22.

NRL states get Embarrassing Bodies at 9.30, TBA at 10.30 and the AFL Footy Show at 11.30pm.

6. Thursday April 21.

7.30 will be a repat of RBT, a new episode of Getaway at 8pm. CSI at 8.30 is a repeat.

At 9.30 in NRL states is the NRL Footy show.

7. Friday April 22.

While AFL move their Friday night Football to Thursday night, NRL remains on Friday night with the usual two games. Wests Tigers Vs Brisbane Broncos is live at 7.30pm (NSW & QLD) and Manly Sea Eagles Vs Penrith Panthers is at 9.30pm.

8. Summary

This week sees 7 episodes of The Big Bang Theory on Nine and 3 on GO!, 1 Two and a Half men on Nine and 2 on GO, an episode of Mike & Molly on both Nine and GO and two eps of $#*! My Dad Says on Nine and one on GO!

It also sees repeats of The Mentalist, Harry’s Law and CSI on both Nine and GEM.

Programming Amendments Update, March 31.

1. 7TWO MKR encore

The usual Sunday morning encore for all three episodes of My Kitchen Rules is on 7TWO again this weekend. All three episodes from this week play from 8.30am Sunday April 3.

2. ELEVEN continue with next season of Dance.

ELEVEN will move straight into season 7 of US So You Think You Can Dance. The first episode of season 7 airs 7.30pm Friday April 15, a week after the season 6 finale on April 8.

3. Ellen repeat next Tuesday

The Ellen Degeneres Show next Tuesday April 5, 1pm on Nine, replay 5pm on GEM, will be a repeat. All other days feature new episodes.

4. $#*! My Dad says now officially a GO! show.

GO! will be playing $#*! My Dad says from episode 1, 9pm Mondays from next Monday April 4.

8:00pm – Monday, March 28 on Channel Nine

Vince is jealous when Ed bonds with his dog. Meanwhile, Henry agrees to go on a date with Katie Palmer (guest star Missi Pyle – Two and a Half Men, Rizzoli & Isles, Boston Legal, The Sarah Silverman Program), Vince and Bonnie’s crazy boss, in order to get them a real estate listing.

8:00pm – Monday, March 21 on Channel Nine

Ed’s Navy buddy, Wally Durham (guest star John Mahony – Frasier), comes to visit and ends up insulting Tim (recurring guest star Tim Bagley – Monk, The King of Queens), Ed’s housekeeper. Meanwhile, Henry accidentally sees Bonnie naked.

Severe programming instability prevails at Nine.

Further to yesterday’s changes where the new episode of The Big Bang Theory would move to Tuesday, Nine have issued more changes for the following week. $#*! My Dad Says disappears from the schedule. Additional Two and a Half Men repeats fill this spot.

UPDATED: Now there is ONE new Big Bang – in the week starting March 27. It will be on Wednesday March 30. So the new episodes are on Wed this week, TUe next week and back to Wed the week after. Crazy.

Perhaps Nine are “giving up” on the 7.30pm Mon-Wed timeslot? Seven’s Kitchen just ruling over those times a little too well… Don’t worry – MKR will be over the week before Easter – but then after Easter – it’s Masterchef.

Monday March 21:

Wonder what they’ll do the following week.
