A MODEL DAUGHTER – The Killing of Caroline Byrne on air date revealed

A father’s unwavering fight for justice is brought to life in telemovie

Network Ten is pleased to announce that the telemovie A MODEL DAUGHTER – The Killing of Caroline Byrne will air on Wednesday, November 4 at 8.30pm.

Boasting a stellar Australian cast led by Garry McDonald as Tony Byrne (The Rage in Placid Lake, Mary Bryant, Mother and Son) and David Lyons as Gordon Wood (ER, Sea Patrol, Blue Heelers), A MODEL DAUGHTER – The Killing of Caroline Byrne explores the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of 24 year old Caroline Byrne in 1995. It unravels her father’s battle for justice in proving, through his unwavering and steadfast perseverance, that his daughter was murdered.

The telemovie reveals Tony Byrne’s unyielding belief that Caroline was murdered by her boyfriend Gordon Wood – chauffeur and personal assistant to investment guru and stockbroker Rene Rivkin.

Tony’s determination to bring his daughter’s killer to justice, coupled with the persistence of several journalists to keep the police investigation into Caroline’s death open, culminated in the conviction of Gordon Wood in 2008 for the murder of Caroline, 13 years after her death.

The fine ensemble cast also features Tiriel Mora as Rene Rivkin (The Castle, Frontline), Cariba Heine as Caroline Byrne (Blue Water High, H20: Just Add Water) and Gyton Grantly as Andrew Blanchette (Underbelly, Out of the Blue).

A MODEL DAUGHTER – The Killing of Caroline Byrne is a Screentime production, executive producers Des Monahan Greg Haddrick and Rick Maier, written by Peter Gawler (Underbelly, Water Rats) and produced by Karl Zwicky (The Magic Pudding, City Homicide). It was directed by Tony Tilse (Love is a Four Letter Word, Murder in the Outback.).
