She has been a stand-up comedian for thirty years, but since receiving The Barry Award nomination at the 2004 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Denise Scott has put the R in renaissance! Attracting a worldwide audience is still a surprise for Wiggle Anthony Field regardless of acting and performing being in the family for generations. In tonight’s episode he reveals photos of his earliest performances: learning the violin and bagpipes before going on to join the pop group The Cockroaches while studying early childhood development. - FEATURES ROSS NOBLE AND LAYNE BEACHLEY

This week on PICTURES OF YOU:

Unpredictable, hilarious and incredibly popular English stand-up comedian Ross Noble has toured extensively at home in the UK and Australia. His often sold out shows are a mix of improvisation and audience participation. His television appearances are similar – a mix of spontaneity, quick wit and comedy. But none of these will prepare you for Ross’s appearance on Pictures Of You. In delving through his formative years his story telling is second to none. Childhood highlights include blowing up the family garden with fireworks and setting his first performance partner’s hair on fire. A unique and hilarious upbringing for an equally hilarious performer.

Seven time Women’s World Champion Surfer Layne Beachley is one of Australia’s most successful international athletes. Determined and focused, Layne’s story reveals her ability to overcome adversity in all aspects of life: coming to terms with being adopted; losing her mother at six; recovering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and going on to become a world champion. So many of us have seen Layne’s smile on the winner’s podium but it’s the smiling face of a much younger Layne that you’ll see on Pictures Of You when she reveals the trials and triumphs of her formative years.

PICTURES OF YOU is hosted by Brian Nankervis.

9:30pm – Tuesday, June 12 on Seven

PICTURES OF YOU: PREMIERES NEXT TUESDAY AFTER THE MKR GRAND FINAL

Flicking through someone’s early photo collection tells us so much about who they are today.

Pictures of You is a deceivingly simple idea – and one that the team from Working Dog has wanted to explore for quite some time.

Hosted by Brian Nankervis, it’s about well-known people, or in this case people we assume we know well, sharing photos from their formative years.

Brian discovers there’s something disarmingly honest and revealing about old photos, as guests including Zoe Ventoura, Julia Morris, Anh Do, Peter Helliar, Megan Washington, Layne Beachley, Russell Gilbert and Shane Jacobson share what has shaped them, their family, their childhood hobbies, where they took holidays and even what the hell they were thinking with their Year 12 formal outfit!

Even for well-known Australians who might have reason to be a little guarded about their personal modern day lives, old family snapshots hold no such fears and Pictures of You reaps from the reveal.

While he’s no stranger to Australian television audiences and is most recognized for his role as adjudicator on RockWiz , this is the first time in Brian’s career that he has a show of his own. Guiding guests through their childhood photos and encouraging them to talk openly about their formative years shows Brian at his best – a warm, encouraging, interested yet not intrusive listener.

Pictures of You Special Presentation – Tuesday 27 March, 9:30pm Channel Seven

The series will return after Easter

It’s hard to believe but we are almost at our first big TV finale of the year with My Kitchen Rules having its Grand Finale next Tuesday March 27. The finale will play over two hours, from 7.30pm as the final two teams battle it out for 2012 Kitchen Rules supremacy.

MKR also continues 7.30pm Sunday and Monday March 25 and 26 respectively.

Sunday March 25 remains the same as last week, with new Castle at 8.30pm, but the following week, on April 1, repeats of Bones move back to 8.30 Sunday, followed by a Castle repeat. On the first day of Easter non-ratings, Sunday Night remains at 6.30pm.

Tuesday March 27, after the My Kitchen Rules Grand Finale, will be the premiere of Pictures of You at 9.30, while the regular Thursday night line up on Seven gets not one but two weeks off, thanks to AFL on Thursday March 29, and Easter the following Thursday.

Revenge remains on Monday nights at 8.30, and, interestingly, remains in the schedule for the first Easter non-ratings week. Amazing Race has a week (or two) off in the first Easter week.

Most of the rest of week 14 (April 1-7), however, is to be advised.
