Programming Summary

On Sunday May 29, Masterchef is another 90 minute episode with as the contestants face one of the most daunting challenges ever – cooking for 450 hungry gold miners in the heart of Western Australia.

Hawaii Five-O moves back to 9pm, and at 10pm on Ten (and ONE) is live Formula One.

Monday May 30 and Tuesday May 31 programming remains as normal.

Then on Wednesday, following Glee at 9.30pm is the premiere of the new series The Defenders.

On Thursday June 2, is the explosive season finale of The Good Wife at 8.30pm.

 

Seven have now confirmed (officially) that Dancing with the Stars will premiere next Sunday, May 8 at 6.30pm, in a two and a half hour premiere special. It continues at 6.30pm Sundays.

It will be followed by a double new episode of Castle from 9.00pm. There is also a double episode of Castle following Dancing with the Stars next Sunday, May 15, at 8.30pm.

Australia’s Got Talent is confirmed for Tuesday and Wednesday nights 7.30pm for this week, next week, and the week after (May 17 and 18).

The season final of 30 Rock airs at 11.30pm, Thursday May 19.

 

As the first week gets underway for the new look ONE, the following is a summary of programming for the channel. Note, due to live sports coverage from time to time, there will be some market variations.

On Sunday May 8, the AFL show the Final Siren airs at 6.00pm in eastern states, 5.30 SA, 5pm WA.

From 9pm eastern, is live coverage of the Formula 1 Grand Prix Round 4, LIVE from Turkey.

On Monday May 9, from 5.30pm AEST is live coverage of the Netball ANZ Championship Final.

Then, in AFL markets, a special Monday night football with St Kilda taking on Carlton from Etihad Stadium. It airs at 8.30pm in Melbourne and Adelaide on Ten and ONE. Both are delayed.

ONE Week At a Time (AFL) airs at 7.30pm in AFL markets, NRL version 9.30pm in Sydney and Brisbane.

The Tuesday to Friday nightly strips include Bondi Rescue at 6.00pm, Emergency Search and Rescue at 6.30pm and Airline at 7.00pm.

On Tuesday May 10, Ice Road Truckers is at 7.30pm, Adults Only Cops from 8.30pm followed by RPM LIVE at 9.30pm.

To Wednesday May 11, and new series Long Way Round is at 7.30, more Cops at 8.30, and the free to air premiere of Sons Of Anarchy is at 9.30pm.

Thursday May 12 sees new series Everest at 7.30, followed by The Game Plan at 8.30pm.

7.30 Friday May 13 is Megastructures, looking at the USS Ronald Reagan, followed by the action movie Broken Arrow at 8.30pm.

As may watching Ten last night would have seen, series 3 of Merlin premieres at 6.30pm in Sunday May 8 on Ten.

Masterchef continues at 7.30pm Sunday – Friday, in the week that will see the first of the top 24 be eliminated from the competition. This year, there are NO second chances with no contestants able to return after being eliminated.

On Sunday May 8, the remaining 12 places in the top 24 are settled, then on Monday it’s the first challenge for the top 24. On Tuesday is the immunity challenge, then the first team challenge on Wednesday, followed by the first elimination on Thursday. Friday May 13 is the first Masterclass for season 3.

On Monday May 9, Good News Week airs from 8.30pm (but not Melb and Adelaide – they have AFL on). The team are joined by Russel Brand, who will bring us is own unique “brand” of comedy to the show for one night only.

On Tuesday May 10, at 8.00pm is the season return of Bondi Vet.

At 8.30 Wednesday May 11, is the Lady Gaga episode of Glee – called Born This Way. There is so much packed into this episode, that it had to be extended to 90 minutes!

And on the subject, don’t forget that on ELEVEN, on Sunday May 8, 8.30pm is the exclusive telecast of the Lady Gaga concert recorded in the US.

 

Sunday May 1.

60 Minutes airs at the earlier time of 6.30pm, as the Logies will be telecast from 7.30pm. Throng will be live blogging and tweeting (#logies) all the Logie news as it happens.

Monday May 2.

New episodes of The Big Bang Theory moves to its new time of Monday, 7.30pm. New Mike & Molly follows at 8pm. At 8.30pm, is new CSI, followed by new CSI: Miami. Note that new CSI & CSI: Miami commence on Monday nights from Monday April 25.

Tuesday May 3.

7.30pm Tuesday is the new timeslot for Customs from Tuesday April 26, which of course continues into May. AFP is at 8.00pm and Sea Patrol 8.30pm. Top Gear 9.30, followed by new Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA at 10.50pm.

Wednesday May 4.

Another all new night – with documentary series David Attenborough’s Madagascar at 7.30pm, then new RPA at 8.30pm. At 9.30, the premiere of new series BIG – which has been nearly two years on the making. While BIG is all about losing weight, it is not an attempt to copy Ten’s The Biggest Loser.

Thursday May 5.

The line up for Thursdays at this stage remain TBA. Getaway should remain at either 7.30 or 8pm. Obviously the Footy Shows remain at 9.30pm.

Friday May 6.

NRL Markets. Australia vs. New Zealand is at 7.30pm, while at 9.30pm, City Vs Country as part of the lead up to the State of Origin.

Sunday May 8.

At 6.30pm is the premiere of In Their Footsteps – a series currently being heavily promoted by Nine. 60 Minutes remains at 7.30pm, while Blood Brothers premieres at 8.30pm. 9.30 TBA.

Monday May 9.

7.30 New The Big Bang Theory, 8.00 new Mike & Molly, 8.30 new CSI, and 9.30 new CSI: Miami

Tuesday May 10.

7.30 New Customs, 8.00 AFP, 8.30 Sea Patrol, 9.30 Top Gear rpt.

Wednesday May 11.

NRL markets – The Bulldogs take on the Dragons (again) at 7.30pm in Sydney, while Brisbane will see their Broncos take on the Panthers at 7.30pm. At 9.30, swap the matches over.

No Biggest Loser. At 7.30 is a Glee marathon with 3 episodes in a row.

Saturday April 23.

Sydney: Oprah at 7.30pm, a Hawaii Five-O repeat at 8.30, followed by new White Collar at 9.30. AFL: Adelaide vs. Carlton from 10.30pm

Everywhere else: AFL: Adelaide vs. Carlton from 7.30pm in QLD & VIC, 6.30pm in SA & WA. Movie Indecent Proposal follows the game.

Sunday April 24.

The Biggest Loser Families at 6.30pm sees Dr Swan returns to Camp Biggest Loser to re-evaluate the contestants’ BIO AGE. Witness the amazing results as our families prove that, with a little hard work, you really can reverse the hands of time.

Modern Family at 7.30 is a repeat, with season 1, episode 18. 8pm a new episode of Bondi Rescue, then at 8.30, Hawaii Five-O is also a repeat. 9.30 NCIS repeat.

Monday April 25.

At 7.30, on a special night, The Biggest Loser Families continues with this week’s Weigh In and Elimination – but who leaves is no longer in the hands of the contestants. The two who go under the yellow line will be pitted against each other in a battle of three rounds.

At 8.30 is the 2011 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Great Debate: Adjudicator, Corinne Grant, is presented with two arguments as Tom Gleeson, Julia Morris, Jason Byrne, Paul McDermott, Cal Wilson and Paul F Tompkins debate – is this the end of the world, as we know?

After the debate at 9.45 is the movie, The Tender Hook.

Tuesday April 26.

A repeat of Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation at 7.30, NCIS repeat at 8.30 and a new episode of NCIS: LA at 9.30pm.

Wednesday April 27.

At 7.30, The Biggest Loser Families: This week is all about reflecting on how far the contestants have come – and what better way to measure their success than to try on their Dream Outfit!

8.30 is the special presentation, with the movie only just completed: William & Kate: A Modern Day Fairy Tale.

Witness the ups and downs of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s courtship; from the heady days at St. Andrews University to the most talked about royal wedding since Charles married Diana. Starring: Ben Cross, Nico Evers-Swindell, Camilla Luddington, Justin Hanlon, Serena Scott Thomas

Thursday April 28.

At 7.30, The Biggest Loser Families features the episode where the remaining contestants turn on the trainers with the ultimate payback – after 13 weeks of intense physical exercise, the contestants are given the opportunity to turn the tables. Tonight, the trainers become the trainees!

In SA, WA and VIC, at 8.30pm, another Thursday night AFL match with West Coast Eagles Vs Melbourne. NSW and QLD will see a repeat of The Good Wife at 8.30 and a repeat of Law & Order SVU at 9.30.

Friday April 29.

The night of the Royal Wedding between William and Kate.

While AFL is on everywhere else, Sydney gets a new episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show at 7.30pm, followed by two new episodes of White Collar from 8.30pm.

Sunday May 1.

Masterchef Australia series three premieres with a 90 minute episode at 7.30pm. Also The Biggest Loser Families continues – when the finale is so far is yet to be confirmed. May 1 is still very likely, otherwise there will be overlap between Masterchef and The Biggest Loser.

Monday May 2.

The late night George Negus encores are no more. From this day onwards, the only time to catch 6.30 with George Negus is at 6.30pm. Ratings for the show continue to grow in its new timeslot.

May 1 marks the return of the 2011 ratings survey, after having two weeks off for Easter.

Much of Seven’s schedule returns with familiar shows in familiar timeslots but there are a few TBA’s around suggesting possible timeslots for some of those new shows Seven have been promoting lately.

Sunday May 1

At 6.30pm Sunday Night continues, followed by a one hour special of The Force. Bones at 8.30 is a repeat (not new as previously suggested) and there is a double helping of new Castle from 9.30 – 11.30.

Monday May 2

7.30 is TBA. Another Bones repeat at 8.30pm, followed by new Brothers & Sisters at 9.30pm. 10.30 is TBA as well.

Tuesday May 3

7.30 is TBA. Winners & Losers is back at 8.30pm, with an episode called “Like a Virgin”. Parenthood continues at 9.30, while 10.30 is another TBA, with Cougar Town at 11pm.

Wednesday May 4

Again 7.30 is a TBA – could Australia’s Got Talent appear over two or three nights, or will it fit into one hour? Normally the show is longer than an hour. We’ll find out in due course. Meanwhile, new Criminal Minds is at 8.30, then Detroit 1-8-7 at 9.30 and the final of I Shouldn’t Be Alive at 10.30pm.

Thursday May 5

At 7.30 is the final episode of Heston’s Mission Impossible (yes, there weren’t many!) looking at Cineworld Cinemas. The rest of Thursday night is as per usual with Grey’s Anatomy at 8.30, Desperate Housewives at 9.30, Private Practice at 10.30 and 30 Rock at 11.30.
