Rove LA returns- a weekly one hour comedy talk show with Rove hanging out on a couch with Hollywood’s hottest celebrity guests and this season will see Rove pulling in even more star power than last season, those including Pink, Justin Timberlake, Hugh Jackman, Steve Carell, Eva Longoria, k.d Lang and LL Cool J. Each week three celebrities join Rove on the couch stop by for an informal gathering of unscripted chat and drinks with Rove mixing it up as only he can with his distinctive Australian humour. Rove continues to explore the wonderful strangeness of Hollywood by hitting hitting the streets of LA meeting the people who unintentionally make us laugh the streets of LA, meeting the people who unintentionally make us laugh.

Yet again leave it to Foxtel to fast track US content. The funny as hell Rove is back on September 30 while the new 666 Park Avenue, starring our own Rachael Taylor will be here on Monday October 1st.

Joining ROVE on the couch from the set of ROVE LA for the last episode of the premiere season of Rove LA , on Monday November 21, are Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, American comedian and actor SETH MacFARLANE and Gilmore Girls’ LAUREN GRAHAM.

The series saw the highly anticipated return of Rove McManus to our television screens in September, exclusive to FOX8.

From the CBS Studios in Los Angeles, Rove delivered star power week to week including guests JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, PINK, HUGH JACKMAN, STEVE CARELL, LL Cool J, Ty Burrell and K.D LANG who all shared laughs, stories, exclusives and insights into their lives.

This week:

will.i.am has helped steer The Black Eyed Peas into one of the most popular groups in music selling 28 million albums worldwide, winning  three Grammy awards and nominated for 10 in total. On his own, will.i.am has established himself as one of music’s top producers and has collaborated on tracks with everyone from Justin Timberlake to Carlos Santana and Mariah Carey. will.i.am discusses his pet peeves, his obsession with Japanese toilets and on a more serious note why he won’t release his collaborations with friend Michael Jackson.

Seth MacFarlane isn’t just the executive producer of Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show. He’s also the voice of many of these series’ most popular characters, such as Peter and Stewie Griffin, Roger the Alien and Tim the Bear. Seth discusses the success of the show and the controversy that comes with it. On a more serious note he talks about how he escaped a major 9/11 tragedy.

Lauren Graham became an international television star thanks to her seven years as fast-talking single mum Lorelai Gilmore on the hit series Gilmore Girls. She is currently starring as another unmarried mother on the series Parenthood, which is based on the 1989 movie of the same name.

The series also provides viewers with Rove’s take on the LA way of life. This week Rove visits some LA psychics, including psychic to the stars Kenny Kingston as well as having his gluteus maximus read by Sylvester Stallone’s mother Jackie who happens to be a Rumpologist.

Joining ROVE on the couch from the set of ROVE LA on Monday November 14, are PINK, The Big Bang Theory’s JIM PARSONS and king of nerd culture CHRIS HARDWICK.   

This week on Rove LA – a world exclusive – music superstar, friend of Rove and multi Grammy Award winner PINK joins Rove on the couch for the first interview since the birth of her daughter Willow.

A star of the upcoming Happy Feet 2 and the most successful touring artist in Australian history ever, Pink tells Rove how her life has transformed since her daughter’s birth in June, and why she thinks she will rebel when she grows up.

Pink reveals intimate details about her new life as a Mum and viewers will get a glimpse of the difference motherhood has made to her life. She tells how Willow is happy, healthy, and “drama, drama, drama”.

Also on the couch this week, Emmy Award winning star of the hit comedy The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons  and comedian Chris Hardwick.

The one-hour series also provides viewers with Rove’s take on the LA way of life and serves up a weekly slice of Hollywood. This week Rove visits dog owner Shanna Olsen, who loves her dogs a little too much, treating them to their own bathroom and dressing rooms as well as marrying off two of her dogs- Isabella and Joe who have decided, she says, to adopt Pomeranians.

Joining ROVE on the couch from the set of ROVE LA on Monday November 7, are TY BURRELL (Modern Family), JOHN KRASINSKI (The Office) and professional wrestler STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN.

As goofy but well-intentioned Phil Dunphy on the hit series Modern Family, Ty Burrell has become something of a patron saint for fathers everywhere. The role recently earned the Oregon native an Emmy for Best Comedic Actor, and established him as a major television star.

A late bloomer to acting, Ty reveals he had a lot of jobs he did poorly before the acting bug struck, including working as a forest fire fighter which he also did poorly at. Luckily for television viewers, Ty discovered acting which recently earned him his first Emmy and discusses the fact that he is still coming to terms with his win and has tried to find the right space in his house to place the statuette without looking like a “douchebag”. The Emmy has since found its way to the laundry room with his pile of dirty clothes.

John Krasinski is perhaps best known for his charming boy-next-door portrayal of Jim Halpert on NBC’s hit comedy The Office. Krasinski can next be seen in Ken Kwapis’ Big Miracles opposite Drew Barrymore to be released early in the new year.

John reveals his proudest moment was once being an inspiration for the City of Boston, when as a passionate Red Sox supporter the sign he held at one of the team’s playoff runs which read ‘What Curse?’ ended up as front page news in the Boston Herald and became an instant catch phrase for fans.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, a professional wrestler has been a champion in several organisations, including the WCW, the ECW and the WWE and recently hosted the reality series WWE Tough Enough. Austin has also branched out into acting, appearing in films such as The Expendables and TV shows such as Chuck.

Stone Cold Steve Austin fell in love with the sport at a young age but it wasn’t until college he decided to give up his manual labor jobs to attend Wrestling School and has since become one of the biggest names in the sport. On the road for up to 300 days a year, Steve reveals the pranks the wrestlers play on each other to get through the year and in his downtime collects antiques.

The one-hour series also provides viewers with Rove’s take on the LA way of life and serves up a weekly slice of Hollywood, taking the audience beyond the tourist traps to discover why the phrase “Only in LA” was coined.

This week Rove visits the Los Angeles Gun Club where Rove handles his first gun which prompts John Krasinski to reveal that one of his first dates with wife Emily Blunt was at a gun range which wasn’t one of his brightest ideas.

Joining ROVE on the couch from the set of ROVE LA on Monday October 31, are K.D LANG, LL COOL J and MICHAEL C. HALL.

k.d. lang, the Western Canada native who has spent over 25 years as a major label artist, launched her career with a blend of alternative country- rock music. Lang has since collaborated with many other country and pop performers, including Bonnie Raitt, Elton John and her best-known collaboration with veteran crooner Tony Bennett who has declared: “She’s the best singer of her generation.”

k.d reveals the fact that she was once the eighth best javelin thrower in Canada as well as a keen ‘curler’ and volleyball player until she discovered her talent for music and raves about how much she loves Australia.

LL Cool J has championed every possible field, from music, film, television, author, fashion designer and philanthropist. The two-time Grammy Award winner is currently starring as Special Agent Sam Hanna on the crime drama television series NCIS: Los Angeles.

LL as Rove affectionately calls him, credits his grandmother for pointing him in the direction of music, buying him turntables and a mixer to keep his mind off pursuing a professional football career and to keep him out of trouble.  

Michael C. Hall, best known for his killer role as serial murderer Dexter Morgan on the series Dexter talks about his initial preparation for the role, singling people out on their own at night in NY seeing how long he could follow them throughout the City. He also talks about the way fans approach him for photos and the amazing number of people who ask him to sign their butcher knives.

The one-hour series also provides viewers with Rove’s take on the LA way of life and serves up a weekly slice of Hollywood, taking the audience beyond the tourist traps to discover why the phrase “Only in LA” was coined.

This week Rove visits Griffith Park’s Haunted Hayrides which sends its visitors into the woods for the most horrifying experience in LA.

Joining ROVE on the couch from the set of ROVE LA on Monday October 24, are JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, actor JAMES MARSDEN and actress ELIZA DUSHKU.

Justin Timberlake has become an accomplished artist who is widely-considered as one of pop culture’s most influential entertainers. In addition to his music as a Pop-R&B singer/songwriter, he has also embarked on a successful career in film and television as both an actor and producer and entrepreneur.

Currently starring in the film In Time, Timberlake reveals his obsession with Tim Tams, chats about his fear of spiders and magpies and having to stand up for himself at school during his time on The Mickey Mouse Club. 

James Marsden, currently starring with Kate Bosworth in Straw Dogs, Marsden is probably best known for his role as Cyclops in three X-Men films, as well as for playing a prince in the Disney film, Enchanted and his other film work includes 27 Dresses, The Box and The Notebook.

James reveals that he kicked off his career as a 16-year-old news anchor dressing up in his grandfather’s suit and that in his spare time likes to watch football and drink beer with his mate Justin Timberlake. 

In a classic awkward television moment, Rove embarrasses James as he digs out vision from the vault of him and his school mates appearing as a band on the television program Good Morning Oklahoma.

Eliza Dushku is a familiar face to fans of fantasy and science fiction TV series, thanks to her role as Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as Tru Calling and Dollhouse.

Dushku discusses the time she serves as a culture ambassador for Albania, the country where her family is originally from and shows off her commitment- her tattoo of the national symbol, a double-headed eagle. Unlike Justin, Eliza talks about being elevated to coolness at school as a 12-year-old when she starred opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies.

As only Rove can do, he does some digging to discover one of Eliza’s lifelong dreams which he helps to fulfill during the show.

This week Rove visits his neighbours at the CBS studios meeting up with The Price is Right host Drew Carey and his audience to discover what it takes to be picked as an audience member and what lengths they will go to get noticed. Rove ticks another item off his bucket list when he joins The Price Is Right team as one of their models.

Confirmed guests for episode seven, Monday October 31 are k.d. lang, actor Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and American actor and comedian Rainn Wilson.

Joining ROVE on the couch from the set of ROVE LA on Monday October 17, are American funnyman Steve Carrell, Eva Longoria and Lake Bell

Steve Carell, comedian, actor, producer, writer, and director became famous for his roles in the television series The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Office for which he received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor and films including Anchorman, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Get Smart and currently seen in Crazy, Stupid Love. Steve talks about the 150 year-old Marshfield Hills General Store he and his wife own in Massachusetts renowned for its muffins and in true Steve Carell style, emergency clown noses.

Steve also talks about his time as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service and the fact he does not tweet and loves playing the Fife (a small, high pitched flute).

Eva Longoria known for her role on the hit series Desperate Housewives chats about shooting the last season and not knowing what the final episode holds for their characters, suggests the wives should drive over a cliff Thelma & Louise style.

In addition to her acting work, she is also the owner of the popular Hollywood restaurant, Beso which she proudly works at most nights making guacamole and tortilla soup. Eva also talks about the dating scene and trying to survive in it and her degree in kinesiology.

Lake Bell who starred in the hit comedy No Strings Attached, opposite Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher and on the small screen in Adult Swim’s Children’s Hospital and How to Make It in America, reveals she is a limbo champion, loves stamps and has joined the Hollywood Reporter as their automotive critic writing the ‘Test Drive’ column.

In what could have been a very awkward moment, the two actresses discover during their interview with Rove that they had both just auditioned for the same role opposite Steve Carell in an upcoming film.

Joining Rove on the couch from the set of Rove LA on Monday October 10, are American actor, comedian and producer Seth Green, actress and model Olivia Munn and Michael Wetherly from NCIS.

Seth Green who was named the “Best TV Actor” by Entertainment Weekly magazine the hottest young actor in Hollywood by E! Entertainment Television, is currently producing a stop-motion animated holiday family feature, Naughty or Nice with Matthew Senreich. Seth talks to Rove about his future plans for private-sector space travel and hanging out with Star Wars legend George Lucas.

Olivia Munn is currently starring alongside Sarah Jessica Parker in the new comedy I Don’t Know How She Does It (opens in Australia on November 3), is a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on The Comedy Channel, and can be seen on FUEL TV’s Attack of the Show. Olivia reveals she is a novelty pen collector and has a collection of stun guns, one which she keeps by her bed in case of intruders.

Michael Weatherly, who stars as Tony DiNozzo in one of the world’s most popular shows, NCIS, casually strips his way through the show and admits to being a geek in school before being suspended for selling knives to his classmates.
