On this episode of SCOPE set sail for an ocean full of sailing science! Check out how a sailing boat is made, hit top speeds in a sailing race and meet the one and only Jessica Watson! So, throw caution to the wind and join Dr Rob as once again the ordinary becomes extraordinary, under the SCOPE.

With Breakfast starting on Ten from Monday February 27, the regular children’s programming that usually airs on Ten moves to ELEVEN.

Weekday mornings on ELEVEN from Monday February 27 will look like this:

From 9am, ELEVEN returns to its regular day time programming.

Notably missing though is the morning catch up of Neighbours, which currently airs at 8.30am weekdays.

Over on Ten, weekday mornings have Breakfast Early from 6am, Breakfast at 7am, and The Circle at 9am. Ten’s Morning News airs at 11am.

Wurrawhy (preschool children’s program) will now air at 11.30am weekdays on Ten, while Totally Wild will air at 4pm Mon-Wed, Scope 4pm Thur and H2O Just add Water 4pm Fridays.

Note commercial main channels, as part of their licensing conditions, must air half an hour of “P” rated programming and half an hour of “C” rated programming each weekday. Breakfast taking over the mornings is the reason these P and C rated shows move into different times.

Happy New Year’s Eve! The countdown is on to 2012, so what better way to bring in the new year than don a party hat and check out all the science that goes into this once-a-year celebration! Every science classroom has one, but who, how and why was the periodic table of elements created? And what on earth is an element anyway? What’s so special about iron, neon, calcium, tungsten, magnesium and chromium? Well for starters, they all feature on this episode of Scope! Join Dr Rob as he takes aim at the periodic table and SCOPES out all the science behind elements, once again proving that the ordinary becomes extraordinary, under the SCOPE.

This week. Scope is up WAY past our bed time, searching for signs of science during the night! From things that glow in the dark, to nocturnal animals and night vision technology, this episode is as full as the moon! We have trekked through the desert and flown through the sky. but this week. Scope is plunging into the ocean to find all the science that flows beneath. Join us as we listen out for whale songs, check in with some oyster farmers and spend a day in the life of a busy port. Dr Rob will SEA you next time, when the ordinary become extraordinary, under the SCOPE.

There are lots of amazing creatures in the animal kingdom; some dangerous, some microscopic, some highly intelligent… and then there are those that are… well, slightly different to the rest! This episode of Scope is dedicated to those strange/exotic/weird animals that roam our planet! We walk on the slow side with sloths, dive deep into the ocean for some freaky fish and find out why medical scientists think axolotls are so interesting. So embrace your unusual side and join Dr Rob as he once again proves the ordinary really does become extraordinary, under the SCOPE!

This week on Scope we are giving you a guided tour of some ultra-important, mega-awesome BIG MACHINES! We get behind the wheel of some huge mining trucks, head down to the docks to see how big ships are made and Dr Rob is on location checking out the Air Force Fire Truck! It was one of the biggest natural events to flow through South-East Queensland. Now we look at the science behind it all.

Floods – there’s a lot more to them than just too much water! This week we look at the prevention, forecasting, modelling, rescuing from, and impacts of., floods! So join Dr Rob as he dives head first into the science of this ail-too familiar natural disaster and once again proves that the ordinary really does become extraordinary, under the SCOPE!

Breathing, eating, talking, walking, thinking; everything to do with your body is controlled by your brain. Not bad for something that looks like a big grey wrinkly sponge! Have you ever wondered how the brain is able to do all those different things?
