Sesame Street (26 x 30minute) is back with the show’s landmark 42nd series featuring exciting new episodes focusing on science, technology, engineering and maths, along with hilarious segments with international celebrities.

Additional series highlights include original songs, street stories; a brand new segment called Murray’s Science Experiments and pre-schoolers’ favourite furry blue superhero, Grover is back with new Super Grover 2.0.

During each episode, science and maths topics are addressed in the street scenes, animations and liveaction films.

Episode one: Tuesday, April 03 at 8.30am on ABC4Kids In this episode Murray discovers the word on the street is ‘engineer’; Hubert the Human Cannonball visits Sesame Street to be launched out of a canon; and special guest James Marsden (X-men) joins Elmo to explain what ‘engineer’ means by engineering an automatic spaghetti server.

In addition, during Murray’s Lets Find Out he visits the New York Hall of Science to discover how to design a rocket; and Super Grover 2.0 comes to the rescue of a horse that can’t get his cart to work.

12:00pm – Sunday, March 18 on ABC2

During this episode of this much loved program, Elmo is taking pictures of his friends when they hear someone say something. It’s Camouflage Carla! She is camouflaging and blending into the wall behind her.

Elmo and Rosita want to camouflage too.

Camouflage Carla tells them to join The Camouflage Club and all they have to do is pass the Camouflage Challenge and find six camouflaged things on Sesame Street in six minutes.

Amy Poehler (SNL) guest stars in this episode.

12:00pm – Sunday, August 21 on ABC2

Preschoolers can now enjoy more Big Bird, Elmo, Abby and Grover as ABC 4 Kids screens the full one-hour episodes of the all time favourite show, Sesame Street, series 41.

Episode 13: The ‘A’ Team – Sunday, August 21 at 12.00pm on ABC 4 Kids Abby, Elmo, and Telly are in the arbor when Big A comes in looking for members to join the A Team. The A Team helps people by solving problems using letter A words, such as ‘arrow’ and ‘anchor’ Abby, Elmo and Telly join the team and proudly wear the letter A on their chests.

Baby Bear is the first one who has a problem. He needs help getting his sister Curly Bear to take a nap. The A Team brings in an astronaut reciting the alphabet while doing aerobics to help her fall asleep. It works! Curly Bear falls fast asleep.

Next, Gina tries to reach an envelope that blew up in the tree. The A Team brings in animals with apricot allergies that have apricots tied to their ankles. Their sneezes blow the envelope back down.

Last, Oscar is aggravated and angry that some pigs are playing by his trash can. First, The A Team tries to distract them by bringing in Alan wearing an afro being chased by an alligator with an attitude, but that doesn’t work. Big A wants to try a new plan and points out that the letter A can make different sounds. The A Team brings in an ape dressed as an angel singing about acorns. That plan doesn’t work either. Alan suggests that they try asking the pigs to stop playing their game near Oscar’s trash can. It works! Another problem solved using an ‘A’ word. This calls for an ‘A’ celebration.

Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Romijn make an appearance during this episode.

Sesame Street is continuing it’s tradition of having celebrity guest stars in it’s 42nd season.

The educational childrens show will focus this season on teaching kids about science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Sesame Street airs everyday at 12.30pm on ABC2/ABC4 and the 42nd season starts September 26th in the US. 

Changes to ABC1 and ABC2 from May 2.

From Monday May 2, ABC News Breakfast, currently seen on ABC2 and live on ABC News 24, will move to ABC1. The move will enable ABC2 for kids to add extra programming in the morning, from 6am. ABC2 for kids will take on a new look from that day on, and will be providing 13 hours a day, every day of pre-school programming. It also means that there is no longer children’s programming on ABC1 in the mornings.

Leading up to the change, promos in the morning on ABC1 in between pre-school programs are directing views to ABC2 on digital channel 22, pay channel 126 and between programs for school age children to make the move to ABC3 on digital channel 23 and par TV channel 723.

On ABC1, the latest season of Doctor Who premieres Saturday April 30, while Spicks & Specks returns Wednesday May 4.

On May 2, at 8.30am, ABC2 for kids will premiere the new season of Sesame Street.

ABC News Breakfast airs live on ABC News 24, and delayed into markets not on eastern time on ABC1 from May 2 at 6am.

The cast of Jersey Shore poke fun at the controversy surrounding Katy Perry’s cut scene from Sesame Street by launching a new “DVD” for children on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Katy Perry’s cameo on Sesame Street has been cut by the show’s producers due to complaints regarding her revealing outfit.

The singer reworked her song Hot & Cold for the show while acting out a scene with Elmo but thanks to her low-cut dress, the clip will not feature on the children’s show.

The video was posted on YouTube on Monday and is already close to a million hits.

Lopez, Tyler confirmed for Idol

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler have both been confirmed as the new judges on American Idol after a special announcement overnight. The pop singer and Aerosmith frontman were formally introduced as the new additions to the show, joining original judge Randy Jackson.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent renewed for final season

A final season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent has been ordered by the USA Network, with original lead Vincent D’Onofrio returning for the last couple of episodes. Next year’s season will be the tenth and final for the spin-off.

Katy Perry joins Sesame Street

Sesame Street has enlisted the help of pop star Katy Perry in order to teach kids opposites. The singer reworked her song ‘Hot & Cold’ for the show which is celebrating its 41st season.

The Hoff fails at dancing

David Hasselhoff has proven he’s not quite as smooth on the dance floor as some would have thought, after he got the boot from the latest season of Dancing with the Stars in the US. The Hoff was voted off the show in the first week while former Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer Grey topped the leader-board.

Sesame Street, series 40 kicks off February 1 at 8.30am on ABC For Kids. Here is what you can expect from the series

· First Lady Michelle Obama appears in episode 1 to teach “the streets” residents about the many benefits of planting a garden and growing your own fresh vegetables with Elmo and Big Bird

· Hugh Jackman joins the series for an episode

· Series 40 focuses on nature education through the lens of a two year scientific investigation “My World is Green & Growing”

· For the first time Sesame Street introduces a new CGI segment called Abby’s Flying Fair School

· A new format will resemble a typical broadcasting block with an opening and closing segment with Murray Monster taking to the streets and fresh new graphics

· New celebrities include: Michelle Obama (see image attached), Hugh Jackman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Debra Messing, Ricky Geravis, Matthew Fox and many more!

· Brand new parodies such as Sarah Jessica Parker in “Waiting for Big”. A parody of Sex and The City. Sarah is waiting for “Big” so super Grover bring her things that are big, bigger and biggest. However these things are not the “Big” she’s waiting for. She’s waiting for Big Bird.
