With the launch of Breakfast on Ten, there are now four morning breakfast programs over four main channels Seven, Nine, ABC1 and Ten.

For Ten, it means the morning children’s programming moves to ELEVEN while the obligatory P and C programming move to 11.30am and 4pm weekdays.

From Monday March 5, however, there will be more choices than ever before for children’s programming as both 7TWO and 7mate schedule line ups for kids in the mornings.

7TWO will feature Hannah Montana from 6.30am, Wizards of Waverly Place at 7.30 and The Fairies from 8.30am. 7mate has Handy Manny at 6.30am, Stitch at 7.30 and Phineas And Ferb airing from 8am – Seven capitalising on their Disney content.

GO! has played children’s programming in the mornings right from the word GO (pardon the pun). Current line up includes Bratz at 6am, Taz-Mania at 6.30, Pinky and the Brain 7.00, Sym-Bionic Titan 7.30, Ben 10: Alian Force at 8, Smurfs 8.30 and The Flintstones 9am.

From Monday Feb 27, ELEVEN plays Toasted TV and shows including Beybalde Metal Fusion at 6.05, Bakugan 6.30, Pokemon 7.05, RedaKai 7.30, SpongBob SquarePants 8.00 and Victoriuos at 8.30am.

ABC2 continues to provide pre-school programming from 6am-7pm, while ABC3 provides school aged children’s programming from 6am-9pm.

Meanwhile, GEM continues to simulcast TODAY in HD, ONE plays sports in the mornings – usually from the US, and SBS ONE and TWO feature international news bulletins in their own languages. ABC News 24 has ABC News Breakfast live to all markets from 6am-9am eastern daylight time.

The combination of the new line ups on 7TWO, 7mate from March 5, as well as  ELEVEN from Feb 27 means there are now six free to air channels with childrens programming in the mornings.

Programming information correct as at Thursday February 23, 2012.
