
Criminal Minds cuts JJ
Criminal Minds has cut cast member A.J. Cook for the next season of the crime procedural. The producers of the show have said they have not opted to renew the contract of the actress who plays Jennifer “JJ” Jareau. There is no word as to whether she will return long enough to wrap up her storyline.
NCIS re-sign Anthony
Fellow crime drama NCIS has locked down actor Michael Weatherly for the next season of the show. The actor, who has the role of Anthony DiNozzo, has signed a multi-year deal for the series which has also confirmed most of its regulars for season eight.
Jamie Oliver’s new series
TV chef Jamie Oliver is launching a new series which aims to aid young Brits in not only cooking but life as well. Oliver, who is dyslexic himself and struggled in school, will look to help out kids who have come out of school feeling unfulfilled.
Coldplay change Glee decision
Coldplay has decided to allow Glee to use their catalogue after originally denying the show in its early days. Glee creator Ryan Murphy has said the British band has done a 180 on their decision to allow the musical series to use their tracks after it rose to popularity in its first season.
Wild at Heart renewed
English drama series Wild at Heart has been granted a sixth season. The series, set in the South African countryside, will return for another 10 episodes after pulling good audience numbers in its native England.
King staying on CNN
CNN has denied that they are seeking a replacement for Larry King despite talk in the media of Englishman Piers Morgan being lined up by the network. The network has said that although ratings for the talk show are down, they are not replacing the host anytime soon.
Seacrest stalker jailed
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has seen a stalker of his sentenced to jail after the man pleaded no contest to the charge. The 26-year-old man had been arrested for stalking the television host at his E! entertainment offices last year and has now been slapped with a 10-year restraining order on top of 2 years jail time.
Beckham on SpongeBob
Victoria Beckham joined the voice actors on kids cartoon series SpongeBob Squarepants for a day to record lines for a character. The ex-Spice Girl voiced the character of Queen Amphitrite for the popular Nickelodeon series which will screen in the US later in July.
