Supernatural

Friday August 26 at 8.30pm on FOX8

Jim Years ago Sam and Dean Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. Years later their father also went missing and since then the boy’s have lived their lives combating the paranormal evil that most people believe exist only in folklore superstition and nightmares. In the fifth season Sam & Dean battle both angels and demons and continue in their fight to stop Lucifer and save the world from the Apocalypse.

A number of changes to the ELEVEN line up from next week.

On Sunday nights, as of August 7, Smallville has been dropped, in favour for repeats of Angel, which move forward from midnight to air around 11.00pm after the Sunday night movie. Rosanne and Sabrina The Teenage Witch follow. On Sunday August 14, Angel airs at 10.40, with Cheers at 11.40, then Rosanne after midnight.

To Saturday nights, and plans to show a massive four hours of The Biggest Loser (US) (honestly, too much for even the hard core fans) from Saturday August 13 have been scrapped. Buffy The Vampire Slayer now will air at 10.30pm, followed by Cheers at 11.30, Rosanne at 12 and Sabrina at 12.30.

As a result of the change to Saturday night, 90210 again disappears from the schedule, with only a handful of episodes to go in the first season. So far, it is still scheduled for this Saturday August 6.

Futurama – there will be a new episode on Tuesday August 9 at 8pm, with the Wednesday night episodes reverting to repeats. That is the last new episode to air in the foreseeable future.

Supernatural – the season 6 finale airs Monday August 15, at 8.30pm.

An Idiot Abroad, ONE 8.30pm

So what do GO! do when movies are not doing as well as they would like?

Fill up some of the time with The Big Bang Theory.

Last Monday (Feb 21), with a movie at 7.30pm, GO! managed a channel share of just 1.9%. Considering the share averages around 4% usually, 1.9% is disastrous.

Honestly, outside of school holidays and with so much competition now, did they seriously think movies on a Monday evening will do them any ratings favours?

Next Monday (Feb 28), instead of the movie Bring it on, Total Wipeout UK moves into 7.30. This is the first episode of season 4, and is first run content. Bring it on will air on a weekend soon.

Following Total Wipeout, at 8.30pm, is two episodes of The Big Bang Theory.

Vampire Diaries remains at 9.30, with the movie Cellular following instead of Two and a Half Men.

Now GO appear to be ditching the Monday night movie, why not give fans what they want – The Vampire Diaries at 8.30pm, not 9.30pm? Wouldn’t be too hard to do that now… many on the GO Facebook page ask why they have to wait for 9.30 for their weekly Vampire fix.

Yes, 8.30 Monday is a clash with Supernatural on ELEVEN, but how many actually watch both? And besides – it’s easy to record one and watch the other now anyway.

The Vampire Diaries is off during March due to a break in the US. Maybe when it returns, the timeslot could be reconsidered.

In only its second week, Australia’s newest digital multi-channel, ELEVEN, has taken top spot among digital multi-channels with its target audience of 13-29s, capturing a 9.4% per cent prime-time commercial share.

ELEVEN has the top two programs in 13-29 for Week 4 across all digital multi-channels with The All New Simpsons and Futurama (Mon Ep 2).

ELEVEN’s top programs for the week include:

Program Viewers

The All New Simpsons 330,000

Futurama (Mon Ep 2) 318,000

Neighbours 292,000

Supernatural 264,000

So You Think You Can Dance (US) 234,000

Counting down the days until ELEVEN? Well, so are the guys at TEN! Here’s their latest release:

HELLO ELEVEN! Australia’s newest free-to-air digital channel launches in less than four days and we’re just a little bit excited….

As well as being the exclusive new home of the much-loved Neighbours and everyone’s fave animated series, all new The Simpsons, ELEVEN is bursting with brand new episodes of some cracking new US content, including Dexter, Futurama, The Office, Nurse Jackie, Californication, Supernatural, Smallville, and 90210.

Want more? You got it. ELEVEN will also have access to a huge library of classic shows, thanks to our friends at CBS. Think Everybody loves Raymond, Frasier, JAG, Judging Amy, Happy Days and MacGyver, all on ELEVEN.

Network Ten Chief Programming Officer David Mott said: “We are proud to be able to deliver a new free-to-air channel to Australian viewers that has a solid breadth of standalone programs. ELEVEN is bright, bubbly and entertaining and we believe it will be a hit with viewers.”

ELEVEN kicks off proceedings at 11am on Tuesday, January 11, with a very special episode of CBS hit show The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, which will continue to be a permanent fixture in the late night line-up on ELEVEN.

And here is the prime time TV guide for ELEVEN as a spreadsheet. This suggests commitment to their schedule, beyond ratings related last minute changes we see on other digital channels.
