Australia’s new young gun Bernard Tomic will be aiming to get the Davis Cup World Group qualifying tie against Switzerland off to a winning start as he plays World No. 19 Stanislas Wawrinka in the opening match tomorrow from 11am AEST.

Old foes and former World No. 1s Lleyton Hewitt and Roger Federer will then play in the second match, as Australia continues its bid to regain entry to the Davis Cup World Group.

Australia has crowned a new queen of the hardcourts after Samantha Stosur became the first Aussie woman to win a Grand Slam title in 31 years with a stunning straight sets victory over Serena Williams in the US Open Final yesterday morning (AEST).

The Flushing Meadows crowd was silenced by the 27-year-old Australian as she powered to a 6-2, 6-3 victory over the local favourite and three-time US Open champion on an emotional day for the host city as it remembered 9/11.

An exhilarating fortnight of US Open tennis action came to a close this morning (AEST) when World No 1 Novak Djokovic claimed his third major of the year with a breathtaking four-set victory over Rafael Nadal.

FOX SPORTS will replay both the Men’s and Women’s US Open Singles Finals beginning with a full replay of the men’s decider at 5.30pm AEST tonight. The women’s decider featuring Stosur will be replayed at 7pm on Thursday (15 September).
