The Biggest Loser: Australia

Previous episode: The Biggest Loser Australia: Singles Season Seven – Contest #8

With so much bingeing going on; how likely is it that someone will take temptation in tonight’s episode?

After yesterday’s contest, Margie won the right to send someone home until weigh in. Who will she choose?

Margie’s Verdict: Margie chooses to send home Michelle

She claims she isn’t ready to go home, and Michelle would be the next best person to send due to her mother’s birthday coming up. This is the softer side of Margie I love. With that, Michelle heads off home. On the way to the airport, she calls her brother to set up a surprise birthday party for her mother. She also calls Hamish who insists on coming down to meet her and her family. It’s a 13 hour drive to Melbourne for him!

Meanwhile, a temptation booth and some fridges have been put in the living room. The contestants walk in ‘surprised’ and look around. Inside the booth are boxes with their names on them. Hayley turns up and tells them that they will be replicating the real world with a 24-hour temptation. All they have to do to win is consume as many calories in the 24-hour period as possible. They must eat their food in the temptation booth. The person who consumes the most calories wins immunity. Alex is unwell and is resting in bed. They are asked to tell Alex about what’s happening when he wakes up, but Graham’s concerns tells us all a different story. He may be more unwell than we all think.

The 24-hour period begins and they are already going through the fridge! Who will crack first?

Opinion point: How many calories would you risk eating in a challenge like this?

After the break, Michelle is back home and greets her mother, who is in her pyjamas, with a happy birthday wish. It’s just a happy reunion. They all seem fine. Meanwhile, Brenda and Bek discuss Alex’s sickness and assume that he may need to play temptation in order to save himself this week. They discuss their own temptation chances, and Brenda concedes she’d only play for the game and not for the food.

The next day, Michelle, Shannan and Commando (Tiffiny, too, is sick) walk into the room where Lydia is taking some temptation in the booth- however later reveals it is all a set up. The judges look around the fridges. They’ve never seen a temptation before apparently. Michelle grabs the foods they all love and makes them all burn off the calories in a training session- despite the fact they haven’t even eaten anything. This is to prove how long it will take to burn off all that food. After the training session, they dump their food. It wasn’t worth it.

Opinion point: Was Michelle the right person to be sent home?

After the break, Shannan trains Bek and Brenda in the lounge room. I’m assuming Commando is with Graham doing the same thing elsewhere. Bek is showing good sign, with Shannan calling her body ‘athletic’. Soon enough though, Alex does come in. He feels much better and is explained the temptation. Margie tries to convince him to take immunity due to his inability to train. He thinks if he takes temptation he may put on weight, voiding him of all immunity.

Opinion point: In Alex’s position, would you take temptation?

After the break, Alex takes temptation, consuming what looks like a pizza and a sandwich with a drink. He also has an ice cream. He consumes close to 1000 calories.

Meanwhile, back in Michelle-land, Hamish turns up for yet another Hamish-Michelle scene fest. Are we really doing this again? He meets the family and as expected, it all went well. Hamish does look nervous.

At night, Margie is comforting Alex who is struggling with pains. An ambulance pulls up and the medics come in. This looks very serious. He is taken off to the worry of the other contestants. This isn’t looking good at all.

Opinion point: These final scenes. Good entertainment or taking advantage of a bad situation?
