The Biggest Loser Singles

Previous episode: The Biggest Loser Australia: Singles Season Seven – Temptation #10

It’s time to end the week; but after today’s challenge, will that be on a high, or a low? And for who?

The episode begins with Brenda and Bek in the lounge room during the temptation. They don’t think anyone has taken temptation. There is less than an hour to go, so Brenda goes to take temptation.

Highlight: Brenda takes temptation- however it is not clear how much she takes.

After Margie tries to sniff out possible temptation takers, their time is up and Hayley comes in. Many contestants don’t know that Alex has consumed over 1,000 calories. Hayley discusses Alex’s hospital trip, but says he should be back in the game later today. But, it is now time for the results.

Temptation Results- Two takers:

Alex: 1,109 Calories

Brenda: 222 Calories

Alex Wins Immunity.

Opinion point: Did Alex make the right decision?

The contestants leave temptation and head to training. Commando and Shannan are waiting for them in the inside gym. They debrief on the temptation and they are shocked at Alex’s ‘effort’. Commando is actually relieved. Hopefully Alex doesn’t gain weight. Shannan then introduces them to Kurt Fearnley, a paralympian who crawled the Kokoda Track. He comes from Graham’s home town of Carcoar.

He gives them some advice and inspiration before they get into training. They have to partake in a 1km treadmill race with Kurt. They even get a head start on him as he assembles his bike. Kurt still manages to beat them all, but only beat Margie by a few seconds as Margie and Lydia finish their run in less than 5 minutes. Before he leaves, Kurt offers some one-on-one advice to Graham.

After the break, it’s challenge time! They all head out into the rainy foreground for a weight-filled day! The trainers are all there, as well as Hayley. Michelle and Alex are out of today’s challenge, so only six will compete. Today, they must hold a barbell at their shoulders. One at a time, they must delegate 10kg to an opponent of their choice. Last person standing (the one who can still hold their weight) will win. They will win a 1kg weight advantage, and the power to delegate a 1kg disadvantage to someone else.

With that, the challenge begins.

Opinion point: Thoughts on the challenge?

The Biggest Loser Australia: Singles next airs Apr 15 at 6.30PM on TEN.

Previous episode: The Biggest Loser Australia: Singles Season Seven – Weigh In #11- Contestants Come Back!

We’re back into mainstream business with the eighth contest, and it comes with one hell of a prize, I’ve been told!

The trainers sit in the lounge, discussing who they think may come back. Michelle thinks Lisa is the best person to come back. Then, all the contestants come back in, followed by Bek, who survived last night’s elimination. Tiffiny is thrilled, but Shannan can’t believe she wasn’t viewed as a threat. Tiffiny notices that there are eight contestants and four trainers. Alex and Graham are with the Commando, Michelle and Kasey are with Tiffiny and Michelle still has Margie. So who do the other four want to train with?

Brenda ditches Michelle for Shannan, who has trained her this week. Michelle is quite taken aback by this. All she wants is a fresh start. Lydia however comes back to Michelle, and Margie feels her relationship with Lydia, due to their competitiveness, has changed. That leaves Bek to go with Shannan.

Quick Summary: Tiffiny will train Kasey & Michelle, Commando will train Alex & Graham, Michelle will train Margie & Lydia with Bek and Brenda going with Shannan.

As The Commando notes, the boys have some catching up to do. They’re an endangered species. Enough of that through, it’s onto training, and Shannan is FINALLY back in the game…officially! Like any training session, this is both a physical test and a mental examination- especially for Brenda, who opens up to Shannan about her past and her inability to have kids in the past. Shannan wants to help her let this go.

I notice through all this that the Commando is growing a bit of stubble; which is also going on with Alex. Isn’t there a razor SOMEWHERE in CBL? Speaking of Alex, the training session also takes its toll on him as he breaks down over his inability to keep up with the younger contestants. The Commando insists his way of training is not too hard for him.

Opinion point: Should Alex be cut some slack over his age, or is age no barrier in this circumstance?

In Michelle’s training session, we see a new and improved Lydia, compared to the moping Margie, who seems most affected by the returning contestants. She thinks every day is getting harder.

Tiffiny’s girls aren’t even in the gym- they’re in the lounge. Michelle has binged again, and she isn’t coping with it. Tiffiny takes her to the kitchen to show her what she’s eaten. Michelle isn’t too happy about this. When they grab all the stuff she’s binged on, they lay it out on a table to make her accountable for her actions. She finds out she consumed 700-800 calories, and she breaks down. She then shows her steps on how to control her binges. Kasey offers to help Michelle on this task. After that, it’s onto training.

Opinion point: Is Michelle reacting reasonably to her binging?

After the break, the contestants head poolside for the contest. Hayley is there and explains that today; the seven of them (Kasey is at a doctor’s appointment) will need to pick up their game. Margie, Lydia, Alex and Michelle are the top four on the leaderboard, so they will be today’s champions. The reward is big- the winner will not go on the walk, but will instead receive the power to send someone home!

Opinion point: Too much power for one person?

Answer to the above question, probably not- they’re only sending the contestant home until the next weigh in. Bit of a letdown! So what’s the challenge? In the pool, there are two bungee cords. There is also a stack of 20 medicine balls ranging in weight. They must deliver the balls from one side of the pool to the other. Lydia will be going against Michelle with Margie versing Alex in round two. Lydia and Michelle then take their positions. Michelle wants to go home for her mum’s birthday. With that, round one begins.

The bungee cords pull the contestants back more and more the further forward through the pool they walk. Ball after ball, the girls get closer and closer to the finish. In the end, we get a winner.

Contest Round One Result: Lydia wins with 20 balls in to Michelle’s 19!

Michelle breaks down over not winning, to which Brenda can sympathise with. But nonetheless, it’s time for round two- Margie Vs. Alex. Same rules, same deal.

Alex about Margie: ‘She’s like Popeye…the sailor man.’

Alex at one point takes two medicine balls down, with Hayley threatening disqualification, but jokingly.

Contest Round Two Result: Margie wins against Alex…by a long shot!

Well, well, well. Look what we have here- Margie vs. Lydia- and it isn’t the first challenge in which this has happened. They both have their work cut out for them. Here, they must hang from a rope out over the pool. At regular intervals, they must move their grip from one knot to another further down the rope. The last woman hanging wins. Let’s begin.

It’s a rivalry played out in one of the most boring challenges. Lydia struggles at first, but soon, they are both in the same boat. They both make it to the second knot. Lydia finds it harder to hold on. She is getting annoyed! Margie is so calm.

Contest Round Three Result: Margie wins Contest #8.

As the episode ends, Lydia loses focus and collapses in what looks like a bout of extreme exhaustion and a bit of shame for losing. She soon regains her composure as Margie gets ready to make her decision…tomorrow!

The Biggest Loser Australia: Singles next airs Apr 10 at 7PM on TEN.

Previous episode: The Biggest Loser Australia: Singles Season Seven – Weigh In & Elimination #10

For the past week, we’ve seen the return of the eliminated contestants- and while they won’t be competing for a place back in the competition tonight- they will be revealed to the others. This should be good!

The trainers begin the episode talking about the disastrous weigh in. We see the recap of the event. They concede that it was the worst weigh in ever. They have no idea who is going home, but Michelle thinks Lydia is a dead cert. She is right, and her fears are confirmed when the contestants re-enter the house.

Margie is in shock, but to Michelle, this was no surprise. Graham thinks it is the hardest he has ever been through. He will miss Lydia, and it seems as if Lydia was Graham’s type of woman. Hmm, secret romance there? Michelle reveals that this is the first time EVER that two people have put on weight in the same weigh in. She is not impressed, and claims they have dropped the ball. Commando asks what would happen if the eliminated contestants would walk around the corner. The contestants would be pissed, but would understand how they would want to come back in and how easy it would be for them at this point.

Meanwhile, Simon, Lisa, Brenda and Shane are discussing what they could do to re-enter the house. They think it will be a super-challenge or massive elimination. At that point, Shannan walks in and introduces them to Lydia- the newest member of their team. Lisa is undoubtedly happy- but it seems Brenda is not happy. They fill Lydia in on the twist, which she claims is ‘mind-blowing’.

The contestants are now training- and training hard. Hayley enters the gym and tells them to come with her. What the hell is going on? Well, she shows them this year’s twist- the Bunker! Again, they have no idea what’s going on. Hayley spills all, including Lydia’s ‘secret’, before getting them to watch the cameras. They see hooded contestants enter the house. Here we go.

Opinion point: Is it too soon for the contestants to find out about ‘The Bunker’?

After the break, the contestants walk up to the camera and unveil themselves, taunting the present contestants. Brenda tells them ‘Game On’, and Kasey is shocked to see Bek, whom the team backstabbed in elimination. Michelle however, is quite pleased to see Hamish. They just laugh at Lydia.

Looks like they have some visitors. They’re back, and they’re in the contestant’s house. Hayley tells them what’s been going on with Shannan, and Margie does not like what’s going on. Bit of a kick in the guts, is it Margie?

They then head back downstairs to say hi. Margie tells them to play by the rules, and Simon is not happy about this at all. The contestants then break ranks and hug each other. Aww. Graham pretty much confirms his love for Lydia. They mingle some more, and the tension is apparently there, according to Bek.

Afterwards, the contestants vent to themselves about the eliminated contestants coming back. They seem upset. They don’t want to give them any info. But not all contestants are there. Michelle is with Hamish, who gives her a necklace. She is happy he’s here, as she’s over the gameplay. Margie and Kasey meanwhile want to make sure Michelle knows not to help the eliminated contestants in any way.

Afterwards, the eliminated contestants and the current contestants head back into weigh in and the eliminated contestants are introduced to the trainers. We remember eliminated contestant Emma Duncan’s return last year; and eventual win! Hayley tells them that they are fighting for five passes that they can win in challenges. The five contestants will head to a weigh in. No pass no weigh in. Hayley then tells the remaining contestants that they have immunity as the next weigh in will be about the eliminated contestants.

Opinion point: Who has the best chance to get a weigh in pass?

After the break, the eliminated contestants have to weigh in. Lisa is first to weigh in. On day one, she weighed 104.2kg. She now weighs…82.9kg, a loss of -21.3kg. Lisa then discusses her time at home.

Hamish is next. He weighed 148.7kg on day one. He now weighs…116.3kg, a loss of -32.4kg. Shannan reveals that he is no longer a sooky la-la, having not cried one tear this week.

Simon is next. He weighed 164.3kg. He now weighs…127.9kg, a loss of -36.4kg.

Bek weighed 126.3kg. She now weighs…97.2kg, a loss of 29.1kg. Kasey does not like her attitude on the weigh in scales at all.

Ryan weighed 241.0kg. He now weighs…196.8kg, a loss of 44.2kg.

Lydia weighed 141.9kg. She now weighs…100.6kg, a loss of -41.3kg.

Shane weighed 164.8kg. He now weighs…141.7kg, a loss of -23.1kg.

Brenda weighed 120.8kg. She now weighs…97.7kg, a loss of -23.1kg.

Selena is last to weigh in. She weighed 163.5kg. She now weighs…131.2kg, a loss of -32.3kg.

Selena gets off the scales before doing something quite…unsurprising. She quits the competition!

Opinion point: Was Selena right in returning to the competition, only to quit yet again?

Selena says she doesn’t feel it is fair for her to play for a spot in the competition when she is so happy on the outside. A bombshell? No, not really. Tiffiny pleads with her to stay, but she knows this was her last chance, and she chooses not to take it.

With Selena gone, that leaves eight left to compete for the five passes. The first time these contestants will be able to fight for a pass will be at the next day’s contest.

The remaining contestant’s rock up for training- but Margie is sick, to the chagrin of Michelle. The four contestants are determined to keep the other contestants from taking their spot from the competition. They motivate each other as they flip tyres and all sorts. Meanwhile, the returning contestants are made to look at pictures of the remaining contestants as they train. Bek wants revenge on her old team and she has a point to prove. This is one huge training session. They are all determined to get back in.

It’s then time for the contest- their first chance for a weigh in pass. Hayley welcomes them and reminds them of the stakes. Today, they will be giving out two weigh in passes. In round one, they must hold 1.25kg weight above a ‘yellow line’ to tape. If anyone goes below the yellow line, ironically, will be out. The remaining four will go forward to the final round. Shane, who infamously whispered while completing this challenge, looks confident.

Opinion point: Who is best equipped to own this contest?

With that, the contest begins. The room is silent, as support dwindles for the returning contestants. Shane is close to breaking the yellow line- and he may not be good this time around. Soon enough, he drops his weight- it seems he threw the contest for self-preservation. Ryan drops his weight soon after. Six contestants left. Six minutes in, Brenda drops her weight. One more to go.

To end the challenge, Hamish drops his weight. He is now out, and that means Lisa, Bek, Lydia and Simon are to move on to the next round- a 10km bike race. The first two contestants to make it to the 10km mark will win the passes. The black team (remaining contestants) will call the kilometres.

Lisa makes it to 1km with Simon, Lydia and Bek not far out. We review Bek’s bar-throwing incident in week one as she relies on the bike this time around. They all hit the 3km mark in the same formation. They stay in the same formation for the 5km mark as well. Simon runs ahead of Lisa at 7km. He remains in the lead for the 8km mark. Simon discusses his pouring sweat, which was kind of unneeded. It’s obvious that Simon and Lisa will win this challenge. Soon enough, they do, to end the episode- Lisa and Simon win themselves weigh in passes. Lydia and Bek re-join the pack.

What a fantastic episode! The revelation of the eliminated contestants was a brilliant addition to the episode, but it was a little too scripted. The production nonetheless was riveting- and the balance of the episode was spot on. Finishing the contest was also welcomed.

For us reality television nerds out there, we FINALLY got a grip this week on how close Easter is, as two reality television shows finished up for the year, ahead of non-ratings period. Excess Baggage and My Kitchen Rules could not have been bigger polar opposites, but they did share one thing in common- a finale last week. So let’s go through all the twists and turns.

We’ll do My Kitchen Rules first, because I usually save it until last, and that’s just not very fair is it. Considering it is the highest rating reality television show around, it should get first mention. This week, only three episodes aired; but these were the most highly anticipated episode to date.

The first two episodes were the finale decider semi-finals round. On Sunday, SA’s Leigh & Jennifer went head to head with TAS’s Megan & Andy. In what would be the trend, it was SA’s own florist and princess who progressed the finale, leaving the Islander state team to leave the competition.

On Monday, SA’s other team, Nic & Rocco versed off against Carly & Emily. It may have been hard for Rocco to keep his eye on the ball and not on Emily (or was it Carly he is dating?), but he seemed to pull something out of the bag, as he and his friend Nic completed the all-SA (and I wouldn’t have it any other way) finale, knocking Victorian’s Carly & Emily out of the competition. Well, a South Australian knocking out a Victorian- that, my friends, was the sweetest victory of all!

On Tuesday was the big finale. The SA girls went up against the SA boys, and for a while there, it looked like Nic & Rocco were going to beat the girls to the prize. But a few last minute 10/10’s for the girls proved to be their saviour, and they went on to become the competition’s third winning pair.

My Kitchen Rules returns in 2013.

Excess Baggage also had a final week. 2.6 million of you tuned in for the MKR finale- but only 95k tuned in for Excess Baggage. This week, the teams were in Melbourne. For their last spirit challenge, they had to collect ‘Excess Baggage’ from sites around Melbourne, and rush back with as many bags as they could carry to Federation Square. I swear there were more people cheering them on in the square than there were people watching the episode.

Dipper & Lana continued their winning streak, beating this competition. It was then onto the final Breakthrough Experience, where the orange and purple teams had to be submerged in a makeshift helicopter cockpit, and fight their way to the surface again with no breathing gear. It was a shock to the system for Lana, but she eventually did it! Good on her.

On Wednesday, it was time for the last endurance challenge. Here, using cryptic clues, contestants had to find bags of puzzle pieces littered around a train yard. With their recovered bags (four in total), they had to construct a puzzle. The purple team triumphed here.

The finale then took place on Thursday, where each team competed in a finale challenge which involved completing mini-versions of some challenges featured in the season. Then, it was on to the final check in, where Ajay & Matt took home the split $100,000.

Excess Baggage will NOT return in 2013.

Then there’s The Biggest Loser- which will continue throughout Easter non-ratings. After a heated elimination, which saw Lisa leave, it was a week of events! First off, the eliminated contestants returned to be trained by ousted trainer, Shannan. They also found out about the bunker, which they can use at their disposal.

Next, the contestants were treated to a makeover. After the brilliant event, which transformed the contestants, they all had a night on the town, which brought back a flood of emotions for Michelle.

Lastly, the contestants still partook in a weekly challenge, where they had to raft their way across a river. Lydia, who used to be a brownie, didn’t do so well with partner Kasey. They came last, and are now locked up in a bedroom lockdown until weigh in. Uh, oh!

Alex & Michelle however, won the challenge, earning themselves a 1kg weight advantage.

And that ended the week in reality!

So what’s going on next week? Well, not much I’m afraid, but The Biggest Loser is now also coming to an end, which should prove eventful. This weigh in on Sunday seems to be quite interesting, but it indicates poor numbers will be dealt- which I don’t usually like- I LOVE change on this show- but we’ll see.

The eliminated contestants will also be revealed- but who will take the news poorly? All of them? Well, I wouldn’t be surprised.

So as we head into non-ratings for two extra weeks, don’t worry- soon enough we will have a barrage of new reality titles coming our way. MasterChef Australia, The Block, Celebrity Apprentice Australia, The Voice, The Amazing Race Australia AND Dancing With The Stars are all set to debut soon after April 15 (if not April 15), so keep that penned in your diary.

With that, enjoy your week, and I shall see you all back here Easter Saturday!!

Screw the Oscars, screw the leadership battle, THIS is the event of the day! This is the moment you have all been waiting for. Since launch day, we were told that someone would be kicked out of the camp for drinking alcohol. In a party we were previewed on Thursday, it became apparent that someone had brought booze into the compound with some contestants visibly drunk. Tonight, the perpetrator will be caught and thrown out in what can only be a dramatic episode! All WILL be revealed tonight. Who will it be?

Shannan is told that a party was held the night before. He heads straight for the bunker to find out what had gone on. He sees the contestants partying quite nicely. Then, Luke’s behaviour got worse and worse, and Shannan sees that he appears to be drunk- and losing control! He even slaps someone on the arse. He also swears quite frequently in an argument with someone, and Shannan thinks he has disrespected CBL and the blue team, as well as himself.

In the living room, the contestants talk about Luke being in lockdown. At the same time, Shannan arrives at the room where Luke is staying. Michelle feels he was out of control and Hamish feels he owes someone an apology for his actions. He feels he doesn’t know Luke at this stage.

In the room, Shannan discusses with Luke how important his actions are. Luke feels he went back to the old ‘alcoholism’ Luke, saying his drinking is a huge problem. Shannan says he crossed the line, his hands are tied, and someone has to leave.

Luke is in tears.

In the lounge, Shannan and Luke enter and gather the contestants. Shannan debriefs on the events of the night before Luke tearily apologizes for his actions. He then tells them that he now has to say goodbye, due to his mistakes. He is not eligible to win Biggest Loser 2012 OR the Biggest Loser eliminated contestant prize.

He then says his goodbyes and good lucks. All he can do now is hope he can make it to the goal weight he set for himself by finale.

With that, Shannan and Luke head to the door and with some sad parting words, Shannan says goodbye. It’s a tough way to go out. But he needs to earn back some respect, go home, and stay away from the grog. Shannan will still help him on the outside.

Opinion point: Did Luke deserve to go for his actions?

It is then all back on for training. Tiffiny enters her gym to find out how the challenge went. The team has to break it to her that they came last in the challenge and incurred a 4kg weight penalty. Tiffiny is distraught.

Kasey is in tears and Tiffiny comes over to wonder what was wrong. Kasey brings up Selena’s laziness, and looking at it, she really didn’t do much at all.

Selena shakes her head and Kasey has a go at her. Tiffiny stops the training session and Selena begins to unleash on Bek and Kasey.

She accuses them of bullying them but Bek insists they were encouraging her.

Opinion point: Are you on Selena’s side, or Bek and Kasey’s side?

After the break, we recap everything we just saw in that tense white team training session.

We get more recaps from Thursday’s episode. Bek is being really calm- almost mocking-like.

Tiffiny then gives all contestants a few minutes to vent. Selena says they have to remember that she has 30kg on them all but Kasey says that her and Bek have 30kg on Michelle but are still able to catch up.

Kasey storms out of the room, thinking that Selena is talking shit and saying they’ve done nothing but try to make her feel like part of the team.

Michelle thinks Selena can do a bit more and Selena also thinks she could have worked harder. Tiffiny is smiling, her martial arts will unify her team.

To the black team’s training session and there’s a massive tyre, a rowing machine, a wheelbarrow and four sandbags sitting in a small garden to the side of the compound. It’s training time, Commando style!

He wants to make sure that his team doesn’t fall below the yellow line this week. He is most concerned by Graham, who was in threat of being eliminated last week. It seems elimination is STILL ON this week!

Simon is pulling the wheelbarrow with the weight in it and he drops it. Graham goes to help him but is made to go on the rower- he needs to lose as much weight as possible.

The red team then head into their training session after winning the challenge. They play a joke with Michelle. They make it sound like they lost at first, but reveal that they in fact won the challenge. Lisa thinks this would make her train them easier this week, but she is wrong.

They have to get that one space above the yellow line.

They are annoyed that Hamish has eaten his way to immunity. It’s funny to hear Lydia say that out.

It’s an intense training session, but it should ensure their safety above the yellow line! We’ll see.

Back in the white team training session, Tiffiny is pushing them to their limit. She is trying to get rid of their frustrations for good. One spot lies above the yellow line for them. Tiffiny concentrates on Selena, making her get rid of all her frustrations with the group and everyone else. She cracks a wooden board in half!

She then proceeds to get the other teams to do the same. Gosh their screams are piercing. Tiffiny is proud of them, but will be as proud after weigh in?

Opinion point: Who SHOULD do the best in weigh in?

To the weigh in, and the white team are hoping Selena can pull a good number.

Hayley recaps the special week it has been- the immunities that were awarded throughout. She also recaps on Luke’s expulsion. Hamish is now the only blue member. He cannot fall below the yellow line though, as he has immunity.

It is again a three horse weigh in. Hayley reminds the white team about their penalty. Hopefully they’ve all done enough.

The weigh in begins with immune Hamish.

He weighed 132.8kg. He now weighs…127.0kg, a loss of 5.8kg- massive for someone who took a big temptation.

Again, we HAVE to probe Hamish about Michelle. There’s definitely something blossoming there.

Now, to the red team, and Margie is first. She weighed 136.3kg. She now weighs…129.7kg, a loss of 6.6kg!

Lisa is next. She weighed 91.1kg. She now weighs…85.7kg! That’s a loss of 4.4kg. She’s now in the 80’s!! That is amazing! Now it is time to probe her about Simon. Things are going well. She also feels her boys will be happy with her.

Up next is Lydia. She is immune. She weighed 122.3kg. She now weighs…115.7kg, a loss of 6.6kg! Her team’s total is now at 17.6kg, or 5.06%, now into first place. Can they stay there?

Next to weigh in is the white team with their 4kg penalty. They have to lose 27.5kg! Still quite achievable. Selena is first. She weighed 145.4kg. She now weighs…138.5kg, a loss of 6.9kg! She is over the moon with that.

She feels she is gaining confidence and feels she is more mature now. She wants to say a lot to her mother, like she is sorry for not telling her why her daughter was scared to go to school.

Selena then sends her a quick message down the barrel!

She steps down, and wonders if the girls can now put her up. Bek is surprised. Kasey is next. She weighed 115.9kg. She now weighs…111.4kg, a loss of 4.5kg, bringing her team’s weight loss to 11.4kg.

Next is Michelle. She weighed 93.8kg. She now weighs…91.3kg. That brings her team to 13.9kg. Yep, they’re under! Hayley wonders what will happen if she goes home and she says she will be devastated to leave Hamish behind.

Sorry, but that relationship will never last on the outside.

Last up is Bek. She weighed 111.0kg. She now weighs…107.1kg, a loss of 3.9kg, giving her team a loss of 17.8kg, or 13.8kg with the penalty.

They now sit on a weight loss percentage of 2.96%. They have fallen below the yellow line and will face elimination. They may be OK if the black team follows.

The black team must lose at least 23.6kg to stay safe. Margie is not confident with Graham on their team. Simon is first up, and he knows he has to lose 7kg.

He weighed 143.9kg. He now weighs…136.5kg, a loss of 7.4kg! He had beaten his goal by 400 grams.

Alex is next. He weighed 139.2kg. He now weighs…131.6kg, a loss of 7.6kg, bringing his team’s loss to 15kg. He has lost 30kg since day 1. He can’t wait to reach his goal.

He thinks they can reach their goal with Graham. He needs to lose 8.6kg. It’s a big one.

He weighed 184.7kg. He now weighs…177.9kg, a loss of 6.8kg, bringing their loss to 21.8kg, or a percentage of 4.66%, putting the black team below the yellow line yet again. The white team may still be safe yet if the red team have forgiven and forgotten Brenda’s elimination.

Alex thinks he hasn’t tries one hundred per cent, but thinks he is now believing his own lies.

Hamish and the red girls are safe for another week, but Alex is this week’s biggest loser! As long as he got that, he will be proud of himself. The black and white teams must now decide who to put up.

Bek is sure the white team has made their decision, but wonders how she can break the news to Selena. So she’s basically going to play Selena while keeping her own arse covered. Basically.

The black team thinks about doing lowest percentage. The white team is voting. Selena votes Bek, but Bek votes for Selena. How will the other two vote?

Well, it is elimination time. The red team and Hamish take their seats for elimination, and it is time to find out who is up for elimination. Not Selena, but Bek! Not good in a way for Bek- she’s the one who betrayed the red team! And guess who she is up against? Undefeatable Graham!

Opinion point: Are these two the most deserving to face elimination? Who would you have picked?

Lydia shakes her head, thinking she would see Selena there. Bek feels she was blindsided by the team. We then see the rest of the team’s votes. Michelle voted Bek, as did Kasey even. Bek wished that they would have been honest with her, considering they were thinking of voting off Selena.

I think it was Kasey who proposed voting unanimously for Selena first. But I could be wrong. Hayley asks if Selena heard that the team was going to vote for her and Bek confesses that she didn’t, but had she asked she would have honestly told her.

Coulda, woulda, SHOULDA!

Graham reveals that he is there because he had the lowest percentage. He feels he still needs to be there as he has a long way to go. He is scared of going home and failing himself and his family. He is quite emotional about this.

He has classed himself as a failure until this stage.

Bek pleas to keep her, but is very emotional in doing so.

The vote itself takes place tomorrow.

So the episode that we’ve been waiting for comes to a close. Overall, I think the expulsion was handled OK, but I don’t think they spent enough time on it. I would have preferred them to have explored the party a bit more, and if we were able to go a little bit more in depth with what was going on.

I also think that they could have spent a little more time on Luke’s departure, but other than that, wonderfully produced!

The rest of the episode, while masking the controversy, was definitely full of shocks, such as the white team’s disunity, and the weigh in. It proved to be must-watch television, and I think that when it comes to event television, The Biggest Loser has done itself proud.

The Biggest Loser Australia: Singles next airs Feb 28 at 7PM on TEN.

SA Contestant Luke Stephens has been kicked out of the competition after bringing alcohol into the compound and getting drunk in a party that was thrown after Thursday’s challenge.

In video footage shown in tonight’s episode, Luke was shown stumbling around, stripping off his clothes and swearing at other contestants after his drunken actions got out of control.

After being held in lockdown, trainer Shannan went to explain the seriousness of the situation to him, before telling him he had to leave the competition.

As a result, he will not be eligible to win the show, nor win any prizes if he is the eliminated contestant with the biggest weight loss.

From TEN:

Luke Stephens from Adelaide shocked contestants andtrainers with his sudden departure from Camp Biggest Loser. What was to be a small celebration with all the contestants and a few cheeky drinks turned into one too many for Luke. This ultimately led to his premature exit from the competition.

As his trainer Shannan put it, “The rules are simple – You can’t get drunk at Camp Biggest Loser.”

Shannan saw Luke’s disappointing behaviour from the bunker on the CCTV cameras. Luke admitted to Shannan that he made a mistake and put himself forward to leave the competition as he understands that he broke the house rules.

In a tearful goodbye to his fellow housemates, Luke, manager of a pub stated, “Alcohol is a huge part of my life, it’s part of my lifestyle, my lifestyle is what got me into the  Biggest Loser. I’ve now not only got to change my weight on the scales, I need to change my lifestyle. I’m now going home to sort my life out and ensure that I can do it without alcohol. I don’t have to hide behind alcohol anymore and I think it’s going to be a lot easier for me now because my friends and family will be able to see the results that I’ve achieved in the space of five weeks.

“I hope that people can see how much pain I’m going through now that I’m leaving my dream behind at Camp Biggest Loser. The best thing that I’ve ever done in my life is enter the competition. I’m now sitting here the lightest and fittest I’ve ever been in my life, even though you see so many tears from me, I can honestly say this is the happiest I’ve been in 20 years.

“For now, I’ve got to concentrate on what I need todo to get to my goal of standing on that scale at 82 kilos. This is what I need to focus on. There won’tbe a day that goes by where I just can’t be bothered, I can’t afford to do that, it’s all or nothing now.”

Luke made a promise to Shannan that he was going to make him proud at the finale!

The Biggest Loser next airs tomorrow (Tues Feb 28) at 7PM on TEN.

On the day of the launch of The Biggest Loser Singles it was reported that one of the contestants would be kicked off the show.

This scandal will be addressed TONIGHT on TEN at 7PM!

As reported in January, a male contestant ‘brought booze into the house and got drunk’ which is a breach of show rules. The incident was also tipped to occur near a scheduled elimination, which is happening to be the case.

In Thursday’s episode, the program concluded with footage of a party the contestants threw to celebrate their success in the challenge. Here, some contestants visibly looked intoxicated.

In 2010, the show was put in hot water after one of its contestants was sent to court on child pornography-holding charges. The contestant was eliminated early, and the production team had JUST (if that even) enough time to make a quick yet noticeable edit to disclude him from the show.

This time around, the indident has occurred midway through the competition, and no editing has been possible. As shown in the recent episode, the program is in fact turning this into a talking point.

When spoken to the day before by the source, trainer Michelle Bridges said “Rules are rules and you can’t get drunk in The Biggest Loser house – it’s as simple as that,”

It is not yet known how this expulsion will affect the elimination. Chances are, it will be cancelled.

This story has gathered considerable interest, so with the episode just hours away, the question on everybody’s mind has to be- who will go?

We know a male will go, and judging by promotions, it will be a blue team member- that has pretty much been confirmed!

HAMISH has been suspected due to the event occurring so close to his 24-hr pass leave. He would have had an opportunity then to sneak alcohol in then. Some of you claim that due to him being young and a possible ‘rare’ drinker, he would be more likely to become intoxicated in a party scene.

Opposition? Well, if Hamish isn’t a big party-er, and he isn’t likely to drink alcohol, why would he bring alcohol in? If I am correct, his main objective was to see his mother and bring flowers back for Michelle. Alcohol wasn’t even mentioned on air when he went home.

LUKE is the other suspect, as the only other male to recieve a 24-hr pass. But in his case, alcohol, and his love for it, was heavily mentioned in scenes depicting his return home. Many don’t believe he himself can get intoxicated as we clearly saw him holding his own during his drinking binge back home, but that doesn’t rule out someone else getting dangerously intoxicated due to his involvement in bringing the alcohol in- something that would explain Shannan’s concern.

Opposition? Yeah, he is a drinker, and he is responsible. It is hard to see Luke leaving due to his heavy leadership role.

Alex and Graham have also been suggested. They are both blokey blokes, so it is somewhat likely. But they haven’t had the opportunity like Hamish and Luke have to bring alcohol in, unless they have hid alcohol in their suitcases for six weeks, which is unlikely.

But reading the comments, I think we’re JUST leaning towards Hamish.

Want my final opinion? Hamish is a bit too unlikely to take such a risk. Being a leader, Luke may have felt a bit cocky, and may have thought the benefits to bringing in alcohol to the camp far outweighed the risks. Under the influence of alcohol during his 24-hr pass, this thought may have heightened in significance.

With that in mind, I would tip Luke.

But we will ONLY be sure when the episode goes to air. Leave your final opinions below before the episode airs, and then sit back and enjoy the episode- it’s going to be a big one!

Throng will be providing a full episodic recap of the episode and AS SOON AS WE CAN, we will be posting who will leave, so keep that in mind when visiting us tonight.

The Biggest Loser Singles has seen another fallen comrade, this time in the form of a red team woman. 40 year old Brenda Hunt has been eliminated after facing up against black team member, Alex Zorzi.

The elimination was a battle between the older contestants after Michelle Bridges’ red team and The Commando’s black team lost the least amount of weight in the episode’s weigh in. Brenda lost 2.1kg.

After making a pact with the white team, the red team felt that they were safe this week as there were four of them voting along with only three blue team members.

While all blue team members voted in favour of Alex, Brenda was let down by white team member Bek, who broke from the alliance and voted her off.

Upon leaving the competition, Brenda still didn’t feel ready.

“Although I have toughened up since entering Camp Biggest Loser, I haven’t been here long enough to be able to motivate myself and it’s sad to leave. I am still aiming to be that healthy person and gain confidence; I want the outside to match the inside of me,” she told Ten.

She is the first contestant to leave from the red team, and the first female to be officially eliminated from the show after Selena’s return. She leaves having lost over 12kg.

This week, the contestants will be facing a ‘boys v girls’ week on the show.

The ex-wife of Biggest Loser: Singles nice guy Simon Hurley, Oceana Glennon, has lashed out at the contestant for lying about the cause of their split-up, which Hurley claimed was because he was too fat.

Talking to News.com.au, Glennon felt ‘disgusted’ when she saw her husband tell audience members during Tuesday night’s public speaking challenge that his weight was the only factor in their marriage breakdown.

Instead, Glennon insists financial troubles were the cause for the marriage ending.

“Had there not been a financial problem I would never have left the marriage,” she told the source.

“As soon as we got married, Simon started putting on weight, Simon had been grossly overweight for most all of our married life, so if I was going to leave him because he was fat, I would have done that long before.”

Glennon herself is a weight loss coach.

In Tuesday’s episode, Hurley had a different version of events when speaking to the sobbing crowd.

“I loved being married every second of the time that I was married. Woke up one morning and my wife meets me in the kitchen and she says, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ ‘What do you mean?’ She said “I can’t do this, us,’ and I said ‘you mean, us, like married’ and she said ‘yes.’

“Of course the next question that comes is ‘why?’ and she says ‘you’re fat.’ That one moment was the most devastating moment of my whole life.”

The episode left Glennon feeling ‘betrayed’.

“A lot of the contestants have real heart breaking stories that have contributed to their weight, but Simon was never overweight or obese as a child or a teenager, there hasn’t been that trauma or anything in his life that made him put on the weight,” she said. “He was always massively overweight, so I just think he doesn’t have another reason for his weight so he’s pulled that card out. It’s an excuse.”

In a later statement, Hurley confessed that there were multiple reasons for their breakup, but he maintains the thought that his weight had something to do with it.

“Marriage breakdowns are complex, and my weight was absolutely a contributing factor. But as always there are many things that contribute to the situation and I certainly don’t blame my wife in any way. I know and understand that I need to change and this journey at Biggest Loser is the start of my transformation. I wish her nothing but the best.”

Oceana also took to The Biggest Loser‘s official Facebook page, as well as her own private page to clear her name after the program went to air.

Could TEN be getting a new look for 2012?

Recent promotions currently airing on the network for shows such as Young Talent Time, New Girl, The Biggest Loser and The Graham Norton Show all feature a bigger, brighter, unicolour logo in either yellow or blue; indicating that TEN will be dropping their old logo which consisted of a blue inner circle encompassed by a yellow ring.

Anyone who frequents the Recruits: Paramedics Facebook Page will also see that the TEN logo has been dropped from its pictures and the above picture has been added to its photo album.

The change isn’t a dramatic overhaul to say the least; but after several years of hardly any deviation in terms of on screen presentation, it would definitely be a step in a different direction for TEN.

Something to ponder about in the coming week. If any change is imminent, it should be noticeable in the week before ratings resumes for 2012 which is when TEN usually update their presentation for the year.
