Victoria’s Harrison Craig from Team Seal was tonight named The Voice of Australia 2013.

Tonight’s Grand Finale saw Australia vote Team Ricky’s Luke Kennedy as runner-up to Craig, followed by Celia Pavey from Team Delta in third place, with Team Joel’s Danny Ross in fourth.

As the winner of The Voice Australia, Harrison Craig, 18, wins a recording contract with Universal Music Australia, $100,000 and a Ford Kuga. Continue reading »

sealAfter taking to Twitter to slam Australia for its handling of Joel Madden’s drug bust in Sydney on Sunday, Seal has issued an apology, insisting he loves Australia but acted out because “I was really hurting for him.”

“I want to apologise for my rant earlier,” the singer writes about the blow up. “Joel is one of my best friends and I was really hurting for him.”

“I want to say I have loved being in Australia,” he adds. “I’ve loved working on The Voice and with an incredibly talented group of Australian artists.” Continue reading »

conniesealBackstage sources at The Voice say Seal has been giving the cold shoulder to the mentor brought in to help his team, Sneaky Sound System frontwoman Connie Mitchell.

As Channel 9 made the curious decision to pull the ratings giant from its line-up last night, it’s understood Mitchell was “quite upset” at the way she was treated by the softly spoken soul singer.

Some viewers also noticed what seemed like a division between the pair during this week’s episodes, with Seal not engaging Mitchell for advice the way the other coaches were with their mentors. Continue reading »
