Titanic: The Mission, SBS ONE, 8.30pm
Titanic was made up of hundreds of thousands of individually crafted steel components. To explore the skills that went into each and every one of them, the team of engineers will cast Titanic’s iconic 16-ton steel bow anchor at one of the last steelworks in Britain: Forgemasters in Sheffield. Still visible on the Titanic wreck, this was then the biggest anchor the world had ever seen. They’ll also explore the British coal industry that provided all the coal necessary to build and power the ship – an industry that claimed the life of a miner every six hours.

Singer Tina Arena goes in search of the truth behind family secrets in a journey that takes her to her Sicilian roots and the tough reality of her grandparents’ childhoods. Having always felt that her mother’s family, the Catalfamos, have a dark side, Tina travels to Sicily to find out more about this mysterious family, especially her grandfather, whom she remembers as a grumpy old man. Family legend states that the Catalfamos are descended from nobility, but can this be proven, or is it simply a rumour passed down through generations?

Four Weddings and a Funeral, 8.45pm, 7TWO
One man seems destined to always be the best man and never the groom, but his run of romantic misfortune looks set to change when he meets an American beauty. However, the prospect of a transatlantic relationship succeeding seems slim, so the pair go their separate ways – only for him to realise that he can’t forget her.

Singapore 1942 – End of Empire, 8.30pm, SBS ONE
Contrary to popular belief, the war in the Pacific commenced with Japanese air attacks against Hong Kong, Malaya and Singapore. Ninety-five minutes before America’s Pearl Harbor was infamously bombed by Japanese aircraft on December 7, 1941, Britain’s territories in the ‘Far East’ had already been attacked from the air. Just two months later, on February 15, 1942, the world watched in disbelief as the victorious Imperial Japanese Army marched into Singapore. It was Japan’s greatest victory and Britain’s worst defeat in World War II.
