The countdown has begun. Only 5 days until 7MATE’s Mighty Mega Week shifts into gear on Sunday, June 19. Premier motorsport, mind-blowing stunts and experiments, epic big screen action, side-splitting comedy, alligator hunting and automotive genius come together for a week of mega entertainment.

It all starts with the high-octane action of the V8 SUPERCARS series from Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin at 12.30pm (June 19). It’s event 5 of the 2011 season with Qualifying and Race 13 over 200km. Host Matt White and commentators Neil Crompton and Mark Skaife are trackside for the big race.

The Emmy nominated, hit science TV series MYTHBUSTERS explodes twice a week on 7MATE (Sundays 6.30pm & Thursdays at 8.30pm) starting with the special Impossible Heists Part 1on June 19. Join hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage as they decode and demystify some of the most popular urban myths and legends using their signature offbeat experimentation.

Sunday night on 7MATE pays tribute to one of cinema’s greatest heroes, John Rambo. 7MATE presents the iconic cult-hit RAMBO series starring Sylvester Stallone starting with First Blood on June 19 at 8.30pm.

Tuesday (June 21) is comedy central with new episodes of AMERICAN DAD (9.00pm) and FAMILY GUY – celebrating its 150th episode with a movie length event at 9.30pm – followed by Danny McBride in the Will Ferrell produced comedy EASTBOUND & DOWN at 10.30pm.

Celebrity car enthusiast Xzibit cruises into Wednesday nights on 7MATE with the hit series PIMP MY RIDE from June 22 at 7.30pm. In true rags to riches fashion, the program takes a young automotively-challenged fan and turns his/her bucket into a pimped out masterpiece.

The wild swamplands of Southern Louisiana set the scene for 7MATE’s documentary series SWAMP PEOPLE. The program follows a group of Cajun swampers who navigate inhospitable bayous, marshes and wetlands through a time of year that is crucial to their survival: the 30-day alligator hunting season (Thursday, June 23 at 7.30pm). And at 9.30pm, catch new episodes of HELILOGGERS.

The mega hits continue the following week on 7MATE with the premiere of AMERICAN PICKERS, HARDCORE PAWN and LIFE AFTER PEOPLE.

7MATE is number 1 in its target audience (men 16-54) across the television year (week 24: June 5 – June 11, 2011).

Three rounds of the V8 Supercars season will be available to screen on 7mate after the events were removed from the anti-siphoning list.

The three rounds in Darwin, Townsville and at Queensland Raceway near Ipswich will screen on Seven’s multichannel after an agreement was reached with the government.

Currently, all rounds of the V8s are placed on the anti-siphoning list, which results in the sport competing with the AFL to screen live on Seven.

V8 Supercars chairman Tony Cochrane announced via Facebook that an agreement had been reached with the Minister of Communications Stephen Conroy to delist the three races.

The agreement allows the races to be shown live on 7mate in cases where they would clash with live AFL coverage on Seven primary channel.

After a desert spectacular in Bahrain, the V8 SUPERCARS have crossed the Bass Strait for Launceston’s Symmons Plains Raceway.

The 2.4km track is as challenging as it is fast. With two rounds to go, the battle for Championship supremacy is going down to the wire.

Ford’s Jamie Whincup and Mark Winterbottom and Holden’s Garth Tander are all in the mix.

In 2007, this round was one of the crucial turning points of the Championship – it was a victory for Whincup and a body blow for Tander. The Holden driver won race one but spun with a clutch problem in race two and then wiped himself out after contact with Steven Richards in race three.

Join MATTHEW WHITE, expert commentator NEIL CROMPTON, along with MARK BERETTA and DANIEL GIBSON patrolling pit lane for Seven’s all-encompassing coverage.
