Totally barking mad, WILFRED is an enigmatic Australian comedy series about a woman, her new boyfriend and her insecure and manipulative pet dog, the light of her life. Expanding on the award winning short film by the same name, WILFRED is a tale of love, lust, anxiety, fear, frustration, humiliation, and occasional happiness. Burn Notice

After first being scheduled to air on Ten in Sydney only on Saturday nights, while everyone else gets AFL, Burn Notice is now scheduled for a Friday night timeslot nationally at 9pm after Masterchef Masterclass. It kicks off on Friday June 24 at 9pm with an episode called Eyes Open in which Michael tries to stop a lawyer who is killing gang members out of revenge.

As for Sydney, it seems Ten will stick to movies now from 8.30pm Saturdays.

Double the Offspring.

On Wednesday June 22, Ten will play an additional episode of Offspring at 8.30pm, in the timeslot vacated by the Glee finale Wednesday June 15. Offspring, which is now officially renewed for a third season, also remains in its usual timeslot of Monday nights 8.30pm.

Now: Given the issues Ten have had this year with double episodes, multiple night scheduling and timeslot changes, why would they risk messing with their most successful Australian drama at this point in time? And what will happen for the following week – surely Offspring twice a week will rush through episodes too quickly and will risk diminishing the audience.

ELEVEN

Based on the rumour, the rest of gang believe that Howard is in for a major let-down, much to Raj’s excitement. But will Howard go through with his plan and if he does, will the rumour prove to be true? Will the wedding take place? Will Adam be arrested for illegal gambling, and will a cooler version of Adam replace him in Sarah and Wilfred’s life? Now we just have to wait on the US version, due to screen there later this year.

An Idiot Abroad, ONE 8.30pm

Ok, I know I picked this last week. But if last week in China was anything to go by, I am dying to see what will happen to the hapless Karl Pilkington in India! I am already laughing at the thought of him getting Delhi Belly and experiencing the uniqueness of such an exotic culture.

Like a dog in heat, ELEVEN is sweating happiness over securing the broadcast rights to the US adaption of the critically acclaimed, Australian cult comedy hit, Wilfred. Grrrrr!

Co-created by and starring Aussie Jason Gann (Mark Loves Sharon, The Wedge), Wilfred had shagged out two seasons on SBS before being scooped up and groomed for the US network FX by David Zuckerman (Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill).

Launching on FX in June and ELEVEN later this year, Wilfred is a half-hour, live-action comedy about “Ryan” (played by Elijah Wood), an unlucky dweeb who resides firmly on struggle street, until he forms a unique friendship with “Wilfred” (Jason Gann), his neighbour’s dog/dawg (you choose). Everyone else sees Wilfred as just a dog, but Ryan sees a crude and surly, yet irrepressibly brave and honest Australian bloke in a cheap dog suit.

Network Ten chief programming officer, David Mott, said: “We think the US version of Wilfred fits in perfectly with the demographic ELEVEN is focused on. It’s a fresh, very funny adaption of the Australian version and we think the ELEVEN audience will love it. We are also delighted to have Jason Gann back on the Network, he’s a fantastic talent and it’s great to see this clever series find an international foothold”.

Gann, who is serving as Co-Executive Producer, said: “Elijah and I are both super excited for Australian audiences to see this new incarnation of Wilfred. David Zuckerman and the whole creative team have bravely taken the show to a new place. It’s crazy, darker than ever, and yes… Wilfred still smokes bongs and has sex with anything that moves… and everything that doesn’t.”

Serving alongside Zuckerman and Gann as Executive Producers are Rich Frank, Paul Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz of Prospect Park as well as creative maestros Joe Connor and Ken Connor of Renegade, producers of the Australian version of the series. Wilfred is produced by FX Productions and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The Biggest Loser Families Grand Finale, Ten, from 8.30pm.

The best part of every series of The Biggest Loser is seeing the amazing transformations that take place for the contestants that took part in the series. All contestants return and reveal their final weight loss since the start of the season, while one of the final four will be crowned this year’s Biggest Loser and walk away with the prize money.

Note – if you are recording, make sure you include The Winner Announced at 10pm, and add on an extra 15-20 minutes of recording time after 10.30 to make sure you do not miss the final moment. Last year, it finished at 10.45pm.

No Ordinary Family, Seven, 7.30pm

What do you get if you cross Heroes with Parenthood and Modern Family? You get No Ordinary Family – a show about how an ordinary family with two teen aged children suddenly find they have super hero like abilities after enduring a plane crash in the Amazon. The father has super strength, the mother speed, the 16 year old daughter the ability to read minds, and the 14 year old son has genius like mental abilities that lead his teachers to think he is cheating. The show tackles how each handle their new found abilities and how they can put them to use in their respective life situations.

Note that only one episode airs tonight, Seven changed their minds about a double episode premiere. Having already seen the first three episodes, through previews from Seven, I am already hanging out for the next. Well worth giving a go.

The Big Bang Theory, Nine, 7.30pm.

Yes, it’s on the same time as No Ordinary Family and Masterchef, but for fans trying to figure out when new episodes of the Big Bang Theory air, here they are – now Monday nights 7.30pm is the new home for new episodes of The Big Bang Theory. All others times are repeats.

Wilfred, SBS ONE, 11.00pm.

Thw show that scored SBS’s only nomination last night at the Logies – Wilfred – The Ice Dog Cometh. Adam wins a skiing holiday so he, Sarah and Wilfred head-off to the mountain top resort. Adam gets lost in a snowstorm, finding sanctuary in the remote cabin of Swedish couple Lars and Hilda.

America’s Next Top Model, FOX 8, 7.30pm.

And on FOX8+2 at 9.30pm Midday next day on Fox8 and many more times to help you avoid conflicts. The point here is, that for years we have known Tuesday nights to be Top Model night – every franchise on Fox8 – US, Australian and UK have always been on Tuesday nights until now. Even in the May Foxtel magazine, the new cycle of America’s Next Top Model is promoted for Tuesday nights.

Just to clarify – America’s Next Top Model (first run episode for the week) is now on MONDAY NIGHTS on Fox8, with numerous replays and encores throughout the week.
