DS Max Carter (Christopher Fox) and DC Terry Perkins (Bruce Byron) are stuck in a traffic jam, and are increasingly getting on each other's nerves. Meanwhile, PC Roger Valentine (John Bowles) interviews a young Polish woman Halina Lesnik (Ania Wendzikowska) who's come to the station because she's worried about her fiancé, whom she thinks has gone missing. Suddenly all hell breaks loose, and Terry and Max witness a car-jacking which results in a fatal stabbing. However they can't agree about who stabbed the car owner. Investigations point to Polish brothers, Feliks (Laurentiu Possa) and Stephen Adamski (Rad Kaim), and the search leads the officers to Halina. She tells them that her fiancé Stephen would never hurt anyone, but his brother is a dangerous man. Increasing conflict between the two detectives makes progress difficult, but Max's Polish background reaps some rewards.
