Controversial rugby union defector Sonny Bill Williams makes an exclusive announcement on THE FOOTY SHOW tonight, and the show also crosses live to the NSW Blues who are in camp at Lennox Head on the State’s north coast.

Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah joins host Peter Sterling and Darryl “Big Marn” Brohman on the panel ahead of State of Origin game two.

THE FOOTY SHOW’S Paul Vautin, Brad Fittler, Mario Fenech and larrikin jockey Allan “Robbo” Robinson will join the NSW Blues – and the locals – at the Lennox Point Hotel in Lennox Head, where a devastating tornado ripped through the town last week.

Ex-Bulldog Sonny Bill Williams will make an exclusive announcement about his playing future on the show and one viewer will get the chance to be in Williams’ corner for his second professional boxing bout on June 30.

Maroons Johnathan Thurston and Billy Slater tell THE FOOTY SHOW how Queensland will win their historic fifth straight Origin series.

Melbourne Storm Salary Cap Scandal

Tonight THE FOOTY SHOW has a special presentation on the salary cap breach by the Melbourne Storm – one of the greatest sensations in the history of Australian sport.

Following the NRL announcement this afternoon that Melbourne Storm has been found guilty of repeated breaches of the salary cap and stripped of two premierships and three minor premierships, as well as their 2010 competition points, must repay $1.1 million in prize money, and will be fined $500,000, THE FOOTY SHOW will take a comprehensive look at the scandal with the biggest names in rugby league.

With the investigation revealing the Storm’s breach of at least $1.7 million over five years, THE FOOTY SHOW’S Phil Gould will be in the studio, joining host Paul Vautin, Darryl Brohman, Wendell Sailor and special guest panelist, Bulldog Michael Ennis, to discuss the scandal, what it means to the team, the sport and the fans.

Melbourne Storm Breach NRL Salary Cap Rules.

Another big news day with the NRL announcing this afternoon that the Melbourne Storm have breached salary cap rules for a number of years to the tune of $1.7 million. It was found that the Storm had been effectively running two accounting books - one that showed they were not breaching the salary cap, and another - hidden from the NRL - that paid the players the extra money. The extra money meant that the Storm would have been able to hold onto players that they perhaps might not have should they have followed the rules correctly.

On The Footy Show Tonight - April 8, 2010

Test and State of Origin star Steve Price is the special guest on THE FOOTY SHOW tonight to talk about his retirement after playing 17 seasons of top-grade rugby league.

Roosters captain Braith Anasta joins host Paul Vautin, co-host Peter Sterling and Darryl “Big Marn” Brohman on THE FOOTY SHOW panel.

Steve Price will be in the studio to discuss his retirement decision ahead of the Warriors’ clash with the Bulldogs. The 36-year-old prop has played 15 tests for Australia, 28 Origin matches for Queensland and 313 games for the Bulldogs and Warriors in a stellar career.

Bulldogs captain Andrew Ryan will also drop in to preview the match against the Warriors on Saturday night at ANZ Stadium.

St George Illawarra lock Dean Young joins the show from Wollongong to reflect on the Dragons’ first loss of the season against the undefeated Storm and look at their home game against the Broncos, which Nine will show LIVE at 7.30pm AEST on Friday night.

Footy Season is Almost Here. Return of AFL and NRL Footy Shows and NRL Round 1

The AFL and NRL Footy Shows are set to return on Nine on Thursday March 11 at 9.30pm. The AFL Footy show will be played in a later timeslot in NRL states, and vice versa in AFL states for the NRL fotty show.

The AFL season kicks of on March 25, while the grand final of the NAB pre season cup airs on Ten on March 13. Round 1 for the NRL starts March 12. Friday night NRL returns to Nine on Friday march 12 at 7.30pm.

Queensland viewers will see the Broncos take on the Cowboys at 7.30pm, while NSW viewers will see the Eels Vs the Dragons at 7.30pm. NSW will see the QLD game at 9.30pm, and QLD will see the NSW game at 9.30pm as well.

On Sunday March 14, Sunday afternoon NRL returns to Nine with Rabbitohs Vs Roosters to air from 4pm in NSW and QLD.

Nine Looking Between the Lines For More Ratings. New Sports Based Variety Show Under Consideration.

Channel Nine are about shoot a pilot for a new sports variety show that may air on Monday nights. The new show, to be hosted by Eddie McGuire and Miss Universe Rachel Finch with comedian Mick Molloy joining in is said to be “very different and something we haven’t seen before”.

The show, with a working title of “Between the Lines” will feature audience participation and with presenters and guests on a round island stage surrounded by the audience. Live acts and international guests will also make appearances on the show.
