A cop’s worst nightmare as a reckless driver turns suburban streets lethal tonight on THE FORCE - BEHIND THE LINE. A woman almost stabbed to death. Nine years later police find their suspect… in London! And a disturbing callout has a surprise ending.

Police spot a reckless driver putting innocent lives on the line. It’s obvious the driver doesn’t want to talk and officers want to know why. The driver makes a run for it, but he’s no match for one officer – who has his tasar gun aimed at the man’s chest. After leading the cops on a treacherous pursuit, the reckless driver is taken into custody. He is well and truly over the limit. He’s already in a lot of trouble, but as the case unfolds – the extent of his law-breaking will astound everyone.

The past finally catches up with a suspect. Nine years ago, he stabbed his ex-girlfriend in the back. Despite her horrific injuries the woman got away but only for a moment before the man then tried to strangle her. The next day the suspect was on a plane out of the country. He has been on the run for nine years. An international alert has been in place and finally police in the UK have found him; in Berkshire England. Tonight Australian detectives look forward to finally laying the case to rest.

Police rush to a priority callout – someone’s reported an armed man stalking the streets. Officers gather in a carpark close to where the panicked residents have called about a man wielding a gun in their street. This is when policing becomes a game of chance – unsure of what to expect, officers head in anticipating the worst.

A tough assignment for Sydney water police. The massive US warship Kittyhawk has been given the greenlight to progress into Sydney cove. There is a real possibility of protest and even terrorist activity so a huge contingent of officers are on hand to escort the vessel into the harbour. The police chopper orbits the ship looking for any suspect vehicles. They spot a possible protestor heading dangerously close and spring into action.
