SASHA BARON COHEN guest stars in this episode!When Homer is playing noisily in the yard, it disrupts Flanders' Bible study group. Coaxed by the Reverend, a frustrated Flan- ders takes it upon himself to redeem Homer by inviting the Simpson family on his church retreat to Jerusalem. Unappreciative of the history and culture, Homer would rather hang out at the hotel's breakfast buffet rather than tour the city. But when an eccentric tour guide (guest voice Sasha Baron Cohen) takes the group to famous monuments, including the Dome of the Rock and the Wailing Wall, Homer finally proves he is not beyond salvation.

Bart reluctantly shares a desk with Nikki (guest voice Sarah Sil- verman) and develops a flirtatious rapport. He decides to chat to Grampa about his new crush, and at Grampa's suggestion, gives Nikki a kiss. But when Nikki starts sending Bart mixed signals, he swears off women forever. Meanwhile, Lisa's classmates ostracize her for being an overachiever and First Lady Michelle Obama (guest voice Angela Bassett), a self-professed nerd, comes to Lisa's defence.

Despite Bart's best efforts to intercept it, Homer reads the letter, and he and Marge visit Prin- cipal Skinner for a parent-teacher conference. Furious, Homer punishes him, but Marge takes a more sympathetic approach. When Bart realizes he can pit Homer and Marge against each other to his benefit, his scheming reaches new heights.

Entourage actor passes away

Canadian actor Maury Chaykin, best known for his role as Harvey Weingard on Entourage, has died aged 61. The actor who played the recurring role of movie producer Weingard on Entourage passed away on his 61st birthday after struggling with kidney problems.

Homer takes Marge out for a romantic evening of ice skating and hand-holding, but upon entering the rink, they encounter a curling team practicing. Marge and Homer take to the ice and discover their love for the sport, and soon after, join the curling team and compete with them in the Olympic trials. Team Springfield claims the win and moves on to the 2010 Vancouver Games where Bob Costas (guest-voicing as himself) covers the action. Meanwhile, sleazy vendors introduce Lisa to the world of collecting Olympic pins, and before long, Lisa is hopelessly addicted.

Homer blows off a date with Marge to buy a lottery ticket and winds up winning the million-dollar jack- pot. Fearing how Marge will react if she finds out the reason Homer missed their date, Homer keeps his newly inherited fortune a secret and spoils his family with anonymous gifts. When Bart finds out, he and Homer spend the money like it's going out of style, including buying front-row to tickets to see Coldplay in concert.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has said that the show is bringing back the “Down Syndrome Girl” character that angered Sarah Palin when she first appeared in an episode. MacFarlane also confirmed that the show will do a third and final Star Wars spoof of Return of the Jedi.

Berry and Rudd on The Simpsons

Actors Halle Berry and Paul Rudd are the next celebrities set for an appearance in The Simpsons. The pair will show up separately with Berry appearing in an episode where Bart and Homer receive Oscars while Rudd will play as a therapist.

Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg will feature as himself on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. The American will appear on the cartoon in an episode where he meets Lisa at an entrepreneurs’ convention and advisers her on how to run a bike company.

South Park critic arrested

The Islamic man who threatened the creators of South Park after they aired the controversial Mohammad bear episode, has been arrested. Zachary Chesser, who posted the death threat on radical Islamic website Revolution Muslim, was detained for providing material support for a Somali terrorist group with Al-Qaeda links.

Mad Men’s Jon Hamm will be lending his voice to The Simpsons for this coming season with a character based on him. Hamm, who plays Don Draper Mad Men, will voice an agent character who is in pursuit of mobster Fat Tony.

True Blood comic book launched

A comic book based on TV series True Blood has been launched by HBO in time for the Comic-Con event in the US. The show’s executive producer Alan Ball helped develop the plot for the book which is the first of a planned six.

Vampire series True Blood has been renewed for a fourth season by HBO following a strong start to the third in the US. The new season will kick-off next year in th US.

Phil Keoghan's new race

The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan is set to host a new race series profiling the Velux 5 Ocean race. The yachting competition, which sees skippers attempt to sail their racing yachts around the world, will be filmed and packaged in a reality/documentary format.

Charice does join Glee

Rumours a few weeks ago suggested teen pop star Charice was about to join Glee and as it turns out they were true. The Filipina singer has landed a recurring role on the series as a foreign exchange student who is set to rival Rachel’s talent.

SBS in slogan war

Kiwi network TV3 is coming under fire from this side of the Tasman after cloning a slogan used by the SBS network here. The Aussie network is angry over TV3’s use of the slogan “Over Six Billion Stories... and counting” which they say is too similar to their own “Six Billion Stories... and counting”. TV3, however, says it’s a generic phrase based on the population of the world and that it’s not particularly unique to SBS.

Cowell to be honoured

American Idol judge and producer Simon Cowell will be honoured by BAFTA for his contribution to entertainment at next week’s BAFTA Television awards. Cowell, who not only fronts Idol but also Britain’s Got Talent and The X-Factor in the UK, has been described as “one of the most brilliant entertainment producers of our time” by BAFTA TV chairman John Willis. The 50-year-old will be presented a special award at the June 6 ceremony.
