7.30PM TUESDAY / JULY 8

Ever wonder what you’d do if you suddenly couldn’t remember the past twenty-four hours? What if your house was empty? Now imagine you’re Homer Simpson. Hard to work with only two functioning brain cells, isn’t it?

In this episode Homer has to keep both of those cells firing bright to find out what’s happened to Marge and the kids after he awakens alone in the snow after a night of drunken debauchery.

In hope of finding some answers, logically Homer travels to Moe’s where he’s informed that he was there the previous night and wanted to forget an unpleasant memory and was given a “forget me shot” – a drink so potent it wipes out the last 24 hours of one’s memory. When Chief Wiggum informs Homer that there was a domestic disturbance reported at his house the night before, Homer begins to worry that he may have done something horrible while intoxicated.

He calls upon Professor Frink, who hooks him up to a machine, to help recover his memories. While exploring his memories, he finds out that Marge was having an affair with an unnamed man, and he thinks that he gave her a black eye because of it.

Homer now considers his life to be worthless and decides to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge, just as he begins to reconsider, he is pushed off by Patty and Selma. While falling, Homer’s life flashes before his eyes and he sees the full memory of the preceding night.

How did Marge get the black eye? Is Homer not the loving husband we had always thought he was?

TRIVIA:
Look out for the parody of the YouTube video “Noah takes a photo of himself everyday for 6 years” – commended by Simpsons fans as “Hilarious! It was mesmerizingly bewildering. The YouTube reference at the end was the icing on the cake.”
