Throng’s best of 2009 poll number 4 - what was your favourite variety / light entertainment show for 2009?
2009 saw the revival of variety on TV with new shows like Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation being an instant ratings hit and old shows coming back in reunion specials like Hey Hey it’s Saturday becoming amongst the most watched shows of the year.
Thank God You’re here - previously a success for the Ten network - continued drawing viewers on Seven while Ten’s Goods News Week was a Monday night staple for many fans.
Rove continued to entertain us on Sunday nights although this year saw his weekly live show slide in ratings leading up to Rove announcing he would no longer do the show in 2010.
Meanwhile, on the ABC, Spicks and Specks continued to be one of that networks top rating shows.
